Do you mean the "Darkside CBR-7"? If yes then you got a case off P2W. 1 volley got 6 missiles dealing 1800HP base damage. Against armor it is actually 2340HP per volley. Then you add 2 damage mods to it, skillbook bonuses and then you get a damage over 3000HP. This can again be increased when you where running away and the swarms hit you in the back which deals around 30% additional damage. Well have fun with your armor tank. |

Another plus point is that you only need a assault dropsuit, damage mods and you are set. While with a forgegun you need to spec into heavys. Well you could put it on a militia heavy but i think thats kinda wasted. |

oh the tears... how I miss them, yet... don't.
furthermore, protip: stop treating the dropship like a tank in the sky. when you notice yourself being hit or shot at, take cover. if you're not near cover, you're probably doing it wrong. so tired of these dropship guys thinking they are awesome cause they can camp an objective, thinking they are unstoppable. I sure hope everyone specs proto swarms. :D |

None from me. I spent half a match keeping DESTROYER [something] and his corpmate bottled up in their redzone with an ISK CBR-7 and nanohives. After the corpmate lost his Madrugar, they spent the rest of the match running from me and my clones.
Still didn't keep them from getting something like 30 kills apiece, so I don't think my little broomstick was exactly OP.
I was very proud of that /1 part of the corpie's KDR, though. |

damage mods do need a fix :P they don't have a stacking penalty, enjoy it while it's last :P
also remember this kind of advanced balance is somethingCCP can't test untill we have 4 squads verus 4 squads and lots of people with higher tier gear. The game isn't done by a long shot, just have fun beta testing and finding new ways to break things and expose fatal flaws *evil face*
also wasn't it someone from imperfects saying that only idoits tech into swarm launchers? lol.
also note swarms do terrible verus shield tanks
Forge gun on the other hands does terrible verus armor.... almost like... some kind of.... balance...
Also were you being repped by other tanks wth remote reps or ground troops?

Well, swarms are pretty slow and easy to spot, you should have had enough time to activate all your hardeners, regenerators, enhancers, whatever wacky gear you tankers have.
Now you know, not all swarms are militia pushovers anymore. Adapt and overcome. |

i don't think this is correct. granted we don't have stats for dust but that's just not how defenses work in new eden.
everything has a built in RESISTANCE to damage. armor is considered weak to explosives because it's starting resistance is typically 0-10%, but it's never NEGATIVE. meaning they will never take more than the amount of damage being put out by the weapon (weapon damage + shooter skills + damage mods), only ever the same amount or LESS.
Also, let's examine the op. he says he's triple repped with 6,000 armor. how many low slots does a madrugar have? 5? so at least 3 of those are being used for reppers. madrugars also don't start with anywhere NEAR 6,000 armor, so at least 1 more slot is being used for an armor plate. now this is already looking suspicious because there's no ******* way you can fit 3 large reps and 2-3K worth of armor plate on that powergrid. so at least 2 of those reppers are likely "light" reppers. as in, made for LAVs and dropships. (and no matter WHAT they are, this only leaves 1 low slot for a resistance module. but how much you wanna bet he's using it for a powergrid module to make this all fit?)
that makes 6K armor with very little to no damage resistance, and what is most likely 2 UNDER sized reppers.
so yah... this is not a case of the poor underpowered tanker being beaten up by the big bad OP swarm launcher, this is a poorly fit tank being killed by the first real AV character he's ever encountered. |

6 turrets on a DS is a must have imo, I mean missiles suck as is, giving them 6 would balance them |
