However, we wouldn't float either, so if any game design devs are reading this thread, consider this. We just walk on the ground under water, with a 50-75% speed nerf. We weigh so much I can't think anything other than that would happen in real life. Maybe you could add a limited supply of oxygen on top of that. Sort of like the Red zone mechcanic. That way dropships have a role of getting people over water, becuase running through the deep river or lake is dumb, slow, and a slow death. But a river could be painfully crossed to surprize or get the jump on an enemy position.
Also dropsuits that can move at full speed under water and have more air would be fun.
edit*what was that zombie movie where the zombies just walk across the bottom of the bay to get to the city? Something like that. : )
Scouts should get the option to run across the top of the water o_o |

In one of the maps with only 3 null cannons, there is a underground compound with water beneath the walkways, you can go in there and splash around but it damages your health.
Yes becuase water is Green and bubbles and is surrounded with Danger signs.
Also anything liquid is water. |

Actually, I don't have a quota at all. I'm currently in the office at 4am running a live event for DUST, and browsing the forums to see how people are doing and what people are enjoying

CCP Eterne wrote:In all honesty, rivers and other water features are a rather difficult thing to manage from a gameplay perspective, because they add additional complexity to the engine and how it's handled, unless we go with a rather straightforward "you fall into water and you die" mechanic. I do believe the team is working on eventually getting this additional level done, but it may be some time before they're happy with how everything looks and works.
Boats can fix this maybe.
