Which way is faster to get SP: Ambush or Skirmish? Or is is basically balanced out? |

Performance effects SP gain as well, so go for the mode you play better in.
Also, if you play the mode which you feel like and have fun playing, SP will just come faster than you want it to.
To be honest, the best thing to buy for dust is not boosters. It's a headset. If you can talk to squads and have some great laughs, you won't even realise you hit your cap until you've logged off for the night with a satisfied grin on your face.

It would be nice to talk to people in this game. I've been playing for about a week now and have yet to hear a single peep from anyone! It's really quite irritating actually, how no one has a mic. |

Unfortunately it's not balanced at all, and it'll be even more IMBA once the SP change is implemented. You get more SP in ambush because you can do many in the same time it takes you to do one skirmish. Ambush also makes it easier to compensate for bad blue dots on your team because all you have to do is kill. No need for objectives, CRUs, or bad blue dots hacking a CRU or something if you're trying to clone the other side.
You can do the Taipei ambush in 5-7min, but it takes you 20-30min for a skirmish. You get about half the SP of skirmish per ambush, and I get about 2/3s the ISK. Infantry will probably even see a smaller difference between skirmish and ambush isk because I farm extra non-kill WP in my tank.
Skirmish is better practice for CBs tho. Almost everyone in my corp does skirmish, but we might have to switch when you can earn 1k sp/match when capped for the new sp system. =/ |

I know a bunch of people are running their PS3 audio through their computers, so they can use their PC headset, mouse/keyboard, and monitors.
The downside is that there aren't any *basic* microphone setups like the 360 has (ie: plugged into the controller).
The plus side is that the people I play with use the same setup, and we simply coordinate through teamspeak. |

If looking for people with mic and you're not in a player corp, chat in your NPC corp or local channel. Type LFS (looking for squad) with mic. You will find people. Also, try activating team chat in battle and ask if anyone has their ears on. Also, look for squads of 2 or 3 that are player corps in your match, and jump to their squad.
To the OP, in my experience Ambush works better for grinding and playing solo. |

squad is always > blueberries for grinding. Much more fun too. |

Until you reach the weekly cap it's pretty much the same since most of your SP simply comes from time spent in battle.
Once you reach the cap ambush is more efficient since the fights are shorter. |

Ambush- why else do you think howdidthattaste is the only imperfect that doesn't solely run ambush? The whole corp seems more concerned about hitting the cap as quickly as possible than anything else. |
