"Recently, there has been a large outcry regarding the balance of Heavy Armor and other hard to kill unconventional assets on the battlefield, like tanks. We feel like Heavies are fine [save a tad too much damage at 40m+ or so] The real issue is that we need more assets and equipment that are designed to take down heavies, vehicles and address their weaknesses. The real beauty of Dust 514 lies in its customization and ability to attack a problem with multiple solutions.
While countless threads have correctly pointed out how most players unfamiliar with this game's mechanics try to take on the hard to kill head on and fail miserably, we also think its important to provide more options for engaging assets or personnel that require concentrated fire or equipment dedicated to their destruction."

I do think tanks accerate to fast without an afterburner. But if anything I also think they should have more HP. There is a module that gives more acelleration so maybe everyone has it equiped. |

I disagree that tanks are over powered.
The real problem is that players get stuck in a mind set of spawning in the same old assault/AR build over and over. They forget they can have multiple builds for different scenarios.
More tools to kill tanks will just extinguish tanks from the game. As well as all other vehicles.
This is a bad thing.
Players need educated in the use of anti tank weapons and tactics. Solo kill whoring is fine, but if you want to take down a tank you should have to team up with your team mates.
Its a fricken tank!!! From the future!!!!
What do people expect?
I've never died to a tank and thought. OMG tanks are so OP. Because its a tank.
Just my opinion. |

Great read, with one exception.
He mentioned dense urban areas giving people a better opportunity to fight fatties. Dense urban areas would be like KDR Candyland for me.
Wide-open terrain is where fatties die most. |

This, This is so true. Choke points in tight terrain are perfect for heavies with mow-down firepower and the armour to warrant fixing them. I am a Logistics player who loves to find me a couple of fatties sitting in a choke point. I can keep them running against a much larger force without too much trouble, and Tanks won't break in since they're so easy to kill. A single militia heavy with a forge gun can usually hold one off if not kill it. Maybe there are more powerful tanks out there than I've been facing, but in that case they are costing way more to put on the field and 2 heavies or a couple of swarm launchers will take one down without too much work.
As I see it, heavies are way better than tanks, and way cheaper too, with guns that do way more damage. The most common way to take them down is usually with snipers, hence why so many people are camping the hill country and doing nothing for the objective. |

I think we have enough anti-heavy stuff. Most people are just too stupid to find them. Remote explosives Breach mass drivers Small railguns (their only use) Decent small blasters Shotguns |

you forgot to add LR's to that list, heavy's have literally no defence against an LR at range and it takes them so long to move between cover as well |

They are way faster than you think, and ungoverned they can easily hit speeds of 70mph |
