First, Microsoft had it's chance. Dust was originally going to be for both PS3 and X-360. But Microsoft said no. It's reasons? No cross platform play. Must be on Microsoft's servers. Patches and updates would have to go through Microsoft QA department for which fees would be charged. Basically, Microsoft wanted Dust to be exclusive to them and have it to where they could bleed players and CCP for large amounts of cash because Microsoft is all about the money.
Second... Dust 514 is Dust 514 and not Halo and needs to stay that way. |

Actually it would, Xbox released 1 game a couple of months back that does not require a Gold subscription to play online. They've said more are to come. Possibly Dust would've been one of those free 2 play games. |

Second... Dust 514 is Dust 514 and not Halo and needs to stay that way. Yah well imho that's only true to a degree. It wouldn't hurt to borrow some elements from what makes Halo a good game without borrowing from Bungie/321's universe. For instance, here are some things that Halo does better than DUST:
- Detailed post-game stats: Headshots, what weapons you killed with, who killed you the most, who you killed the most, etc... Incredible detail is provided. In fact, you can go to Halo Waypoint online and look up these stats for every game you've ever played. You can see career stats too again in incredible detail. We're hooked up to "spreadsheets online" (EvE) and you're telling me DUST doesn't support this? Are you kidding CCP? Why not?
- Medals: Admit it - they're fun. Who doesn't smile when they get a "Death from the Grave" (kill someone after you die) or a "Killamanjaro" (7 kills w/i 30 sec of eachother)? It's just fun. DUST is a game. It shouldn't discount the "fun" factor.
- Graphics. Carbon looks awesome. Carbon is awesome. ...but we don't play Dust in Carbon. We sit in our merc quarters in carbon... but play in graphics from 8 years ago.
- Campaign. I know I know... but why not NPC missions? I like to play campaign first because I like to work out my playstyle, learn the game engine, and test out all the weapons without hosing my PvP stats. Now in DUST it's going to take me forever to recover from my 'experimental' phase (which is still ongoing).
- Picking up dead opponent's weapons. Why can't I? That deficit is one of the most ridiculous omissions in DUST.
DUST doesn't need to be Halo. Halo is very good at being Halo just as Black Ops II is very good at being Black Ops II. That said, it doesn't hurt to look at what other games are doing every now and again. (Mass Effect style menu in DUST, DUST style loadouts in Black Ops II and Halo 4, everyone borrows). DUST seems like it has a lot of potential, but don't get arrogant about it. Right now the interactivity w/ EvE is cumbersome and minimal. All DUST is right now is a low resolution shooter from 8 years ago with really big maps. (Edit - add persistence, subtract ability to pick up dead opponent's weapons...) |

Halo is broken in my opinion. I have played halo from the days of the very first xbox (you know that big black box with a giant x on the top?) nearly ten years ago and kept playing all of the various versions with the exception of halo wars. Currently I am playing halo 4 on the weekends with my friends.
But even after so many iterations and countless millions of dollars poured into hyping it, halo still has a handful of glitches and exploits that have yet to be addressed. If you played halo at all online or in a local LAN party, you would know what are the issues. Sure, DUST has issues but at least the issues are bring addressed in some way and we are not going to be charged for said iterations.
DUST must never be like halo. The only exception to that are ths stats. |

Any time a version of Halo comes out someone finds a way to cheat (in 4 it's a new standby exploit and kicking players) and the studio never deals with them. at. all. I'm not saying be 3,2,1, studios or bungie... CCP should stay CCP... they just might look at some other games for some fun-factor and modernization features. |

No. I despise medals (or what ever the hell) with a passion. Don't reward me for bullcrap like that! This stupid trend (I think started in MW2) has to stop. - "You killed a guy right after he killed your buddy. Congrats, here's some extra points for sucking!" - "You killed a guy right after you died. Congrats, here's some extra points for sucking!" - "You killed a guy right after you died three times in a row. Congrats, here's some extra points for sucking!" I also shouldn't be rewarded for getting a headshot either. Saving ammo is a reward in its self. Same goes for "assisted suicide". Rewards should never be given out like candy.
As for campaign, no. It's simply not suited for EVE. Just play the eventual PvE.

Perks, killstreaks, those BS ribbons (see medals from my last post), and small player count to name a few. Of course, there's still going to be differences, but it doesn't change the how they changed the game from the previous ones to make it more like CoD.

um ok....I'm definitely not a Halo Fan...never was never will be. Yes I did play it but it really didn't invent anything new or do anything exceptionally well with one exception...it was marketed to perfection and still is. Dust 514 is far better than Halo and why, because CCP is doing something new, something that hasn't been done. Something every HC gamer has been waiting to see happen for a long time. Many didn't believe it possible - but CCP proved them wrong. And for that it should be applauded. |

I was talking strictly multiplayer and I'm not talking about the other Resistance games, just the third one. And I'm not talking about trophies either. I'm talking about getting those empty rewards after you kill people like "savior", "assisted suicide", and "payback". |

You might not have skilled into that particular weapon. Or you may already have all of your weapon slots filled on the particular fitting you are fighting with.
So would have to drop the weapon you worked so hard to make a great fitting around to pick up one that you had invested nothing toward using well. Or you would have to spawn in with no weapon so you could grab one as soon as you beat the first raspberry to cross your path unconscious with a nanohive.
Or maybe you can. ANd it is called salvage. But since the weapons are genetically keyed to the particular merc that brought it onto the field you can't fire it until you take it to the local weapons chop shop and they re-key it to your DNA. And also nanites.
Personally, for me the single most annoying thing about Halo is that whole picking up weapons bs.
When I find a gun I like I want to shoot it for the rest of the dang game.
The rest of the stuff i your list sounds good though. |

Anyway, if Dust played like Halo and had all the RPG/MMO and meta stuff, it would be the only game needed, ever. |

DUST corporations will one day be able to create and manage their own districts once they have taken control over a planet in the future. We will also be given weapon options soon like the scrambler rifle, flylock pistol, and the DUST equivalent of what looks like a Spartan laser.

Halo CE- simply amazing, one of the best games of all time Halo 2- still awesome, but not as good, still an amazing game Halo 3- not even half as good as halo 2, not a bad game but still decent Halo ODST- Worst halo game ever made, $30 too expensive, no real multiplayer Halo reach- better than ODST, nothing special of a game, was boring in a week Halo 4- Terrible, next to ODST the worst, bad multiplayer, terrible singleplayer
