Let's start off on snipers. I like them, they are well balanced. But a request for future maps: Open them up, with all the cover inside the buildings(or whatever you would like to call them) sniper's cant do much without getting 1shotted from an assault rifle.
Heavy's: I think they are OP, they can take a load of damage, and they can deal a lot of it at the same time. If I see one, no matter what class I play, I just run because there is no way to kill one unless it's 5v1.
Tanks: I havn't piloted a tank yet, but I've been a gunner, and that thing is very innacurate. I could be pointing one way and the thing would literally fire the opposite direction.
Anti armor: Kind of useless, not many people use tanks unless they bought their way through the game, it's very early for some people (unless you play 24/7) to have tanks I have only seen 2 tanks today so i suggest giving the anti armor class a better pistol to start off the game.
Medics: Make it easier to revive people, give them weapons with more armor peircing weapons, it would make sense since they are medics and they specialize in clones, and they should be able to know what ammunition does the most damage. However their weapons would be very weak against shields, which is why there should be a increased magazine capacity
Frontliners: Pretty balanced. Maybe more hardhitting weapons idk. Can't say much it looks balanced to me
Pay 2 Win factor: lower the pay to win factor. The damage differences of the same weapons are very large, and should be changed, to make it a little more even. Actually, almost every thing you can buy in the store is incomparable to the things you can buy with real money.
Spawns: Spawns in ambush (Deathmatch) should be edited, i dont like spawning on top of the enemy team, and im sure nobody else likes that.
Main Objectives:They should be a little more spread apart, i know on a few maps they are closer together, or even closer to one team's spawn. It should be more balanced.
Skill Points: Lower the skill point requirement to buy things, it's very difficult to get skill points, I get 50 a game with a booster, i dont think i want to play for a month just to get level 3 things.
All that help stuff: There is so much reading to do in the game just to get a simple point, for instance, i read one of the health tips, it was about one page of reading. I only got a few sentences of useful information out of it. Some people want to get in the game as quick as possible, because they want to get the most of it. If I wanted to read I would go to the local library. Also, even within those large tutorial pages, some things are still confusing.
Graphics: Great grapics, really cool, sounds are great. texture bugs (Less bugs than expected!)
These are my two cents about the game so far. Sorry for my poor grammar, spelling, or if I'm too vague. Game looks great so far!

This is almost unreadable but i managed to get through it.
I have a few points to counter you with.
You state heavy is OP because it takes more damage... and can dish it out... It is working as intended this is not COD or BF3 we do not have the same health as others. The heavy gets more armor but less shields and it is slower than all hell. also it has the fewest high and low slots in the game.
This game doesn't have "Medics" it has logibros or logistics. Some of us do choose to specialize in reviving and repairing our teammates but others specialize in drop uplinks and remote explosives.
There is no pay to win pay to get access faster yes but no pay to win anything someone bought with AUR (the currency purchased with real money) can be bought with ISK (money earned in game) you just get that access a day or Thitwo earlier. Now each weapon has 4 tiers of gear Militia (crap) Standard, Advanced, and Prototype, each of the tiers (except MLT to Standard) has a damage increase so if someone dumped all of their points into a weapon they could be running about blasting you in the face with that weapons greatest PURCHASABLE iteration. there are better weapons but must be salvaged from the battlefield and are just ungodly amazing.
and a final point any class can equip any weapon (except heavies which are ATM limited the well the heavies AKA the HMG that ate you up when you ran directly at it like the newberry you are) so I as a logibro can equip well just about anything if i wanted to equip swarms sure why not? SO weapons (except heavy ones) are not limited by any kind of "CLASS".
Welcome to New Eden it hates you and will kill you A lot for no apparent reason hope you enjoy your stay! |

Welcome to New Eden it hates you and will kill you A lot for no apparent reason hope you enjoy your stay! Sorry Mr. Nerd. There are such things as medics in the game Militia-Medic You can pay to get items faster, while everyone else has to slowly, day by day, get their 50spm per game(if you have a booster). So if one person has the best possible weapon, while someone who has spent around the same time still has a tier 3-4 weapon it's not fair and it is pay to win, because the person who paid for it, has the advantage. You said Heavy's have low shields, well shields regenerate, and if you dont kill the heavy before they get into cover then the shields will regenerate, and you'll have to go at it wasting your ammo. I don't run into heavy's, the map forces you to get into medium range combat, and the heavy's can kill you from medium range. Realistically, if you dont pay for the game, guns are limited to class, because it will take you maybe a year of 24/7 gaming to get every single gun unlocked for one class. However if you like to reach into your back pocket, then sure you might have all of the guns purchased along with skills. Salvaged weapons aren't unlimited, they last a few rounds depending how much you die, so that basically doesn't matter.I don't know why you're so negative, I gave feedback to the developers who asked for feedback, I gave it to them. |

Medic is not a "class" it is a dropsuit fitting for the Militia Assault suit. The preferred term for a healer in Dust is "Logistics Repper", often shortened to "Logi". This is an EVE term that carried over.
You can customize dropsuit fittings based on your skills and the ISK or AUR that you invest. Mr. Dorn is correct that higher Meta items are not P2W, rather they represent an incremental increase in functionality.
AUR items still require skills to use, but enable you to access the next tier of functionality with one less skill level. Again, not P2W, but P2beimpatient.
To your point, though, if someone has purchased the "best possible weapon" for AUR, by which I assume you mean highest possible functionality level (meta) in an AUR item for a given weapon category, that person must still have nearly the skill level required to use the ISK item at the top of the heap.
They are not skipping all of the training, just a bit of it. Every character from the closed beta had its skills wiped on January 10, and we've all been playing under the same daily caps as the open beta since then. So if you really want the high end items, you aren't that far behind the highest SP toons.
Alternately, I recommend trying out a different philosophy- try playing the game from a rock-paper-scissors standpoint. If you keep dying to some particular weapon, search the boards to find out its weaknesses and train a toon (character) to exploit them on the battlefield.
BTW, if you are getting 50 per match, you've hit your daily skill cap. Log out and train another character. That's what I do. I'm training one as a run-and-gun AR Assault. It's not my preferred style, but I feel it's important to learn about it.

I have a thread here. Works well for the new player explaining dust.
Please don't come in here saying anything is OP until it's understood.

I really wish people would follow the 1-topic-per-thread rule (its stickied on the first page). There is so much here I want to address, but I'm lazy.
Firstly, there are no classes. There isn't a sniper, heavy, medic, anti-armor etc. These are just starter fits (or loadout) to give you something to work with before you make your own from dropsuits, weapons, modules, and equipment that you buy yourself from the market. This is not like a battlefield game.
Heavies: They have lots of health, and can use heavy weapons, but they have lots of weaknesses. They are very slow, they have the highest signature profile of any dropsuit which makes them easy to detect, they can't carry any equipment like nanohives to resupply themselves. They are almost unstoppable at close range, just like snipers are almost unstoppable at long range. If you want to beat a heavy, then don't gt close to them, and use an AR, sniper, or laser to kill them from a distance. They are not OP, you just need to exploit their weaknesses and play tactically.
I'm guessing you used a missile turret. They're suppose to be innacurate, but have good splash damage and radius, but they got over-nerfed so now they suck. Missiles need more splash radius. If you want precision, then use a railgun or even a blaster turret on the tank.
Anti-vehicle roles are extremely useful for dealing with not just tanks, but pesky LAVs that are transporting enemies and running over people. As people make more ISK, and spend their skill points, you will start seeing more and more powerful tanks on the battlefield.
Medics: A medic is ANYONE who carries a nanite injector. Its not some set class, you can EDIT YOUR FITTINGS to add any gun, equipment, or module you want.
AUR items (what you buy with real money) are pretty much the same as the ones you buy with ISK, but the AUR items are 1 tier lower than their ISK counterparts, which allows you to use them sooner. Go in the market, and compare a standard tier AUR assault rifle to a advanced ISK assault rifle, they are the same except for the tier. Weapon damage between tiers was already flattened and made more even, anymore so and there will be no reason to skill up ad buy more expensive items; they'll be a waste of ISK and SP.
The reason you are getting only 50 is because there is a daily SP cap, and once you hit it you will only make 50. Go here and vote on how you want the SP cap system to be.
No offense, but judging by your post (and the new players in general) clearly would benefit from the help reading. I think there needs to be more tutorials and videos to further explain things. |

Lots of bad ideas.
You do realize starter builds are not set classes, you can switch out the scrambler pistol for a SMG. Or change anything on a fit, I upgraded my CPU and powergrid, so I could fit nanite injecotrs on any millita suit, and promptly removed the medic fit from my fittings because nearly all my suits got injector,
Asides from heavys with heavy guns, no weapon is restricted to any class. This isn't F-ing team fortress, my 'medic' (if you can call them that) has a shotgun, and sometimes a AR for a main gun, or a mass driver, basicaly the same weapons my assult and scout class opponents have and I can kill them just fine.
CCP doesn't fix the fits, you do. |

When I play medic ye shall know me by the fact that I throw grenades that annihilate your shields then start punking with a mass driver (grenade launcher)
I carry a gun that I can lock onto friendlies that repairs damaged armor.
i carry nanohives that replentish ammo and grenades.
I carry a nanoinjector that revives my fallen comrades.
it's called the minmatar logistics armor. it requires about 450,000 ISK for the skillbook and about 47,000 Skill Points to access.
When I play heavy (on the same character mind you) I utilize the Armor-based fatsuits, because I do better armor tanking. go figure.
The skillbook costs a bit less than 800,000 ISK and requires 47,000 Skill Points to access the first heavy dropsuit that sucks less than militia.
With this suit I can carry an HMG, or a Forge Gun (those skillbooks cost extra, no one starts with them and the militia forge is a bad joke with a You Suck Forever punchline) and the heavy suit is the only armor that gets access to them. Fatsuits pay for this privelege by being slower than a fat kid on Plysical Fitness test Day. You turn slow, run slower than assault suits can walk, and your only saving grace comes when you can sucker someone else into fighting on your terms (hint: don't stand there and try to mexican standoff with me or you lose). Scout suits with shotguns are more or less the thing that instamurders me.
When I play assault I (You guessed it) paid for the better than militia crapsuits with yet more ISK and skillpoints. I routinely eat fatties for breakfast, massacre scouts and render the Emperor's Mercy upon enemy Logibros with a scrambler Pistol because CCP won't let me use the Bolt Pistol in this game.
Assaults are the most versatile combat suits, but if someone can force you to fight on their terms you need to get good quick or your ass is barbecued.
And finally, the scout suit, AKA the cap-stealing, fast-moving, psychopathic ninja assassin asshats who use heavies for leisurely target practice. I (you get the point, buy skillbooks and get better than militia armor) do stuff.
Scouts with a couple profile dampeners pretty much can go anywhere with impunity. Least likely to be spotted they are phenomenal at getting into poorly-watched places and capping points, stealing turrets, and merrily assassinating you, your friends, and firstborn children with a shotgun.
Does this spell things out clearly enough? This is DUST 514, the tactics are based by role. The weapons and equipment are balanced for team play not solo run and gun. This is a good thing because bluntly most FPS games its a pack of solo idiots who think tactics means "shoot faster than the other guy."
You may shoot faster than my heavy, but you better kill me before my weapon spools up or you are DEAD. |

Great! Becoming the best player you can be is all about getting out of your comfort zone. I have really good aim with rifles, but shottys and snipes were always hard for me, so I force myself to play them. +1 tool in your box |

Looks like I get called out for using the wrong class name. SORRY. I prefer using shorter terms like medic for logistics. sniper for arbitrator. etc.
Why is there a skill cap anyway, I don't want to make any more characters as i've tried them out and picked the one i like. and i can't buy higher tier items (Oops sorry I mean Advanced Prototype items) without skill points.
Looks like I'm getting hatemail already. I tried this game out for a few hours before posting. Usually I base games from 15-20minutes of playing (that's how it's done in the real world) but since this was a free 2 play i decided to cut it some slack. I still play the game, but from now on only for an hour since I max out the skill points very quickly (thank you for telling me there was a limit) |

The point isn't that you called it the wrong names, its that you're missing the point entirely. There are no classes, you create and customize your fittings for whatever role you want, what you think are classes are just starter fits, and you can edit and customize them. You are not bound by any class system. I'm trying to help you, did you just skim?
Ok, how about this. Go in your Neocom, go to the help tab, and do all the tutorials, especially the fitting tutorial. |
