I really wish people would follow the 1-topic-per-thread rule (its stickied on the first page). There is so much here I want to address, but I'm lazy.
Firstly, there are no classes. There isn't a sniper, heavy, medic, anti-armor etc. These are just starter fits (or loadout) to give you something to work with before you make your own from dropsuits, weapons, modules, and equipment that you buy yourself from the market. This is not like a battlefield game.
Heavies: They have lots of health, and can use heavy weapons, but they have lots of weaknesses. They are very slow, they have the highest signature profile of any dropsuit which makes them easy to detect, they can't carry any equipment like nanohives to resupply themselves. They are almost unstoppable at close range, just like snipers are almost unstoppable at long range. If you want to beat a heavy, then don't gt close to them, and use an AR, sniper, or laser to kill them from a distance. They are not OP, you just need to exploit their weaknesses and play tactically.
I'm guessing you used a missile turret. They're suppose to be innacurate, but have good splash damage and radius, but they got over-nerfed so now they suck. Missiles need more splash radius. If you want precision, then use a railgun or even a blaster turret on the tank.
Anti-vehicle roles are extremely useful for dealing with not just tanks, but pesky LAVs that are transporting enemies and running over people. As people make more ISK, and spend their skill points, you will start seeing more and more powerful tanks on the battlefield.
Medics: A medic is ANYONE who carries a nanite injector. Its not some set class, you can EDIT YOUR FITTINGS to add any gun, equipment, or module you want.
AUR items (what you buy with real money) are pretty much the same as the ones you buy with ISK, but the AUR items are 1 tier lower than their ISK counterparts, which allows you to use them sooner. Go in the market, and compare a standard tier AUR assault rifle to a advanced ISK assault rifle, they are the same except for the tier. Weapon damage between tiers was already flattened and made more even, anymore so and there will be no reason to skill up ad buy more expensive items; they'll be a waste of ISK and SP.
The reason you are getting only 50 is because there is a daily SP cap, and once you hit it you will only make 50. Go here and vote on how you want the SP cap system to be.
No offense, but judging by your post (and the new players in general) clearly would benefit from the help reading. I think there needs to be more tutorials and videos to further explain things. |

Why is there a skill cap anyway, I don't want to make any more characters as i've tried them out and picked the one i like. and i can't buy higher tier items (Oops sorry I mean Advanced Prototype items) without skill points.
Looks like I'm getting hatemail already. I tried this game out for a few hours before posting. Usually I base games from 15-20minutes of playing (that's how it's done in the real world) but since this was a free 2 play i decided to cut it some slack. I still play the game, but from now on only for an hour since I max out the skill points very quickly (thank you for telling me there was a limit)
The point isn't that you called it the wrong names, its that you're missing the point entirely. There are no classes, you create and customize your fittings for whatever role you want, what you think are classes are just starter fits, and you can edit and customize them. You are not bound by any class system. I'm trying to help you, did you just skim?
Ok, how about this. Go in your Neocom, go to the help tab, and do all the tutorials, especially the fitting tutorial. |
