DUST Search - What the hell is wrong with this game?-Edit/ Angry rant turned productive.

And don't even tell me to look for a Wiki for information, because when a First Person Shooter requires you to go check out guide to understand something as simple as a marketplace, something is very, very wrong.

Now, I expect 1 out of 2 responses:

A) "Oh, this is too sophisticated for you CoD types"

B) " The world of EVE is a realistic one-blah, blah, blah"

He doesn't know what's going on and need to be educated. isn't that what the "training ground forum" is for? in order for the new guys to familiarize with some of Dust 514's mechanics? i may be speaking for most closed beta testers but not all of them when i say we did it the hard way instead of asking for help and saying the game's **** etc etc

The problem people are facing with this ONE POST out of 10 that were answered nicely - this guy came off as a prick. Closed Beta Testers have been doin' a great job welcoming newberries to the forums - but this guy intentionally stroked flames against himself wording things the way he did. Like I said earlier - he expected these responses.

Tell me how many of us have been complaining....it is all feedback. Do you know how many newbies go hardcore negative in these matches? They're not enjoying themselves either My point is...we shouldn't shun people away because they're frustrated. The more, they play the more they will enjoy. How many of us feel like our opinion is the only one that matters? Have we paid attention to the Imps? And how many people are sucking them off every chance they get? (No disrespect intended)

The tutorial is just a bare start for a beta, expect refinements in additional builds. Eve Online when it started HAD NO tutorial what so ever. To this day I am still teaching veterans hidden functions of the game. So many of them don't still know the compare tool exists.

We all understand your frustration bro as we were once new too, and it took a while to get used to it (alot of us have been in this beta for a year), but frustration gets you nowhere bro. Instead of getting frustrated just ask people for help, add a select few to your contacts if need be so you can ask them in game. Also, ask people in corp chat or local chat. If you're in an npc corp then join a player corp so they can help too, instead of being stuck with randoms during a match. We're a friendly community (well most of us are) and we are willing to help new guys if they need it, but we can't help unless you ask. Most of dust seems very overwhelming at first glance, but if you take the time then you will figure it out. Cut back on the rage threads because that will achieve nothing dude, relax.

It is just different from other games. Hit detection is fine. unlike other FPSs, the aim assist really doesn't do much. So you actually have to aim. People don't die from a few hits ether except militia*. Unlike other games you cant be good right off the bat. You actually have to try and get better. Trust me, I felt the same way as you when I first started playing. I came from playing COD to this as well. Ps. did you just say the world of EVE is realistic? We jump through worm-holes in out giant space ships while having people running around on the ground in some sort of iron man suits with laser guns. Your grasp on reality is questionable.

Wait for it to fill back up a bit and your jump will be a bit higher. Honestly, I wish they'd have done away with jumping all together in favor of vaulting... That's just me, though.

If you don't put points into these you can have the best equipment in the game but they will not be very effective.

If you don't buy in bulk of at least 10 or 20, you'll always be running into invalid fittings. I rarely let my fittings dip below 15, and that's a stretch. Most of the time i have around 30 available. Also, keep your starter fittings for a while, they never run out. There are items that never run out (they have a blue background) but those are all bought with Aurum, i think. Actually, i still have a couple fittings that don't run out, even if i rarely use them.

I stumbled and struggled for the first week but i kept telling myself it was the SP gap and i will get there and then the reset came and i got there(still got a ways to go) but always kept improving. Now im not saying i was saint and didnt have my share of antagonistic posts but that was in due to years spent in other game forums where people were too myopic and irrational to do anything else but talk smack and put each other down. But i soon changed because i realized here the players responded to maturity with maturity and flaming with flaming. Perhaps its my OCD but i ALWAYS read the Strat guide/Game manual before i play a game because i want to have a cursory knowledge of the game so i can build upon it with ingame experience and trial/error. Edit-- It already seems like he's changing his tune and getting helpful feedback in response. See it works.
