I think they are going to make some changes to the spawn locations. At least that seems fair. Last time I spawned in the middle with three enemies around me. You cant tell me that that is a part of the game, seems unlogic. |

Now what I have seen as a newer spawning problem is that, when a player has placed a drop uplink at any given point, and that point has become a spawn death-camp, choosing instead to use "default spawn point" instead, does not do so. It drops you into the active drop uplink instead. This did not use to be the case, but appears so now.
Please fix to allow use of "default" again. |

We should think of suggestions, instead of complaints. Trust me i'm full of complaints on this subject.
Here's my problem: I'm not upset at the fact that I spawn next to an enemy. I'm upset that when I spawn the enemy has 2 seconds to fire at me before I'm able to even move. Its not a lag issue, unless its server lag. I'm on a 50 mb line.
Here's my suggestion: 1) Just before spawning, show your character as if in game but invisible to enemies. But only for a short time with no firing capabilities.
or
2) Spawn normally but give a (x) seconds invulnerability timer so you can move but not fire. This would give both players an equal advantage in battle, and/or time to retreat.
Anyone else have a 'constructive' method of spawning? |

This is awesome, did not see your post until after I posted previous. |

This is a really good idea also logical in my opnion. Both suggestions are good and pretty normal in alot of FPS`s. CCP must either do something like this or just change the spawn points so that you will never spawn next to a enemy or a group of enemies! |

Agreed. Spawning in this mode is HORRIBLE. Spawning me in the middle of the road, in the middle of literal firing, is unacceptable. I hate playing when you can't even play. *spawn, die, spawn, die, etc.* Lol. |

Aamanita Muscaria wrote:As a nOO player, can some kind soul please direct me to a thread about spawn points? I have looked in the forums and on Dust pages online, Wiki, etc. and can find nothing about spawn points. I have only been playing a week or so, am not in a Corporation yet, so I only get to choose "default spawn point" or whatever it is termed in game. Is there going to be some sort of timer in which a player newly spawning is "invincible"; meaning, I have spawned many times only to have the enemy camping the spawn point, I drop in, "blind" and have been killed instantly? How can I see on the game map where I will be dropped in? I really am trying! I am trying to better understand where I can spawn. Sorry for the stupid question. Thank you, in advance, for your kind replies. :) And this is why the spawning issue is really urgent one, and absolutely cannot be excused as something part of the game; new players try to learn an already complex game, and on top of it all get this thrown in the face with no apparent logic, feels the slope is too steep and puts it all down.

We are Ambushed from behind and thus have chaotic spawning. Which is why it's called ambush. Realy wish there where 2 Ambush modes though. Vehicles and no Vehicle mode, Because sometimes, i just enjoy a strait up Infultry vs Infultry fight. Don-¦t take the term too literal. It-¦s mostly an original way of saying 'team deathmatch'. Random spawning is fine, but not the way it is now. I like the idea of having two game modes, because a tank mostly ruins the game for all players. On the other hand, I like the idea of not knowing how the match will evolve. If there were two game modes, there would absolutely be crowded with tanks in the Vehicle mode, because that-¦s what people would expect then.

Anyone else have a 'constructive' method of spawning? Love your ideas man, +1. Right now it is the opposite of your first suggestion. You spawn, and everyone else can see you before you can see them. And when you-¦re there, your screen starts black and tones in, so you can-¦t see anything the first second. You hear shots, but cannot make out where they come from. If you are unlucky, you-¦re dead before you even can see who shoot (ehm, shot...) you.
And aside from spawning next to enemies, you sometimes spawn in the red zone too. I have even heard people spawn in the enemy MCC... |

So a full month later, I have seen no change in-game with spawn points. I am still popping in very random points, and still into enemy camps as well. I have spawned in the middle of the road, wide open to anything. Just try and run like he!! to make it to cover.
I am now finding another issue with drop uplinks. It would have been funny if not so tragic. These suits cost a lot of ISK to replace.
I threw an uplink directly in front of me, on relative "level" ground, but it slid several feet coming to rest under the bottom edge of a container. (You know, the kind with either one or both ends open, that you can seek shelter within...). Players who then started spawning into the battle were TRAPPED in the edge of the container...unable to free themselves. All you can do in that case, and what happened, is be slaughtered when the enemy finds the spawn point!
This coincides with my previous question/comment: there used to be the choice of using the "DEFAULT" spawn point to enter the game. This "choice" now has been reduced to the dropped uplink only, if one is active. It is suicide if the spawn drop uplink has been camped! (Admittedly, I have made some bad choices with where I have placed one, or what seemed like a good placement at the time, has now been over-run!)
So, to take a lesson from other posters:
My suggestion for improvement:
1. Return the active use/option of the DEFAULT (ie, random) uplink. Do not make us solely slaved to a player's dropped uplink in-game.
2. Eliminate somehow getting trapped inside the game environment. (I know there is a technical term for this!) When a drop uplink is tossed, and it should somehow go "under" some part of the environment, either keep it from doing so (some invisible wall?!) or spawn the player a meter away instead of in the wall of the container, or the rock formation, etc.

... for the most part it is "good to go" ... I have seen great improvement. However, I was dropped into the Ambush map yesterday (not sure the names... the one with almost no buildings for cover, just rock faces/peaks in center of the map.) into the enemy's drop side. Instant death by about 4 enemy players.
But, yes, it is "improving". However, not "fixed". |
