Aamanita Muscaria wrote:As a nOO player, can some kind soul please direct me to a thread about spawn points? I have looked in the forums and on Dust pages online, Wiki, etc. and can find nothing about spawn points. I have only been playing a week or so, am not in a Corporation yet, so I only get to choose "default spawn point" or whatever it is termed in game. Is there going to be some sort of timer in which a player newly spawning is "invincible"; meaning, I have spawned many times only to have the enemy camping the spawn point, I drop in, "blind" and have been killed instantly? How can I see on the game map where I will be dropped in? I really am trying! I am trying to better understand where I can spawn. Sorry for the stupid question. Thank you, in advance, for your kind replies. :) And this is why the spawning issue is really urgent one, and absolutely cannot be excused as something part of the game; new players try to learn an already complex game, and on top of it all get this thrown in the face with no apparent logic, feels the slope is too steep and puts it all down.

We are Ambushed from behind and thus have chaotic spawning. Which is why it's called ambush. Realy wish there where 2 Ambush modes though. Vehicles and no Vehicle mode, Because sometimes, i just enjoy a strait up Infultry vs Infultry fight. Don-¦t take the term too literal. It-¦s mostly an original way of saying 'team deathmatch'. Random spawning is fine, but not the way it is now. I like the idea of having two game modes, because a tank mostly ruins the game for all players. On the other hand, I like the idea of not knowing how the match will evolve. If there were two game modes, there would absolutely be crowded with tanks in the Vehicle mode, because that-¦s what people would expect then.

Here's my problem: I'm not upset at the fact that I spawn next to an enemy. I'm upset that when I spawn the enemy has 2 seconds to fire at me before I'm able to even move. Its not a lag issue, unless its server lag. I'm on a 50 mb line.
Here's my suggestion: 1) Just before spawning, show your character as if in game but invisible to enemies. But only for a short time with no firing capabilities.
or
2) Spawn normally but give a (x) seconds invulnerability timer so you can move but not fire. This would give both players an equal advantage in battle, and/or time to retreat.
Anyone else have a 'constructive' method of spawning? Love your ideas man, +1. Right now it is the opposite of your first suggestion. You spawn, and everyone else can see you before you can see them. And when you-¦re there, your screen starts black and tones in, so you can-¦t see anything the first second. You hear shots, but cannot make out where they come from. If you are unlucky, you-¦re dead before you even can see who shoot (ehm, shot...) you.
And aside from spawning next to enemies, you sometimes spawn in the red zone too. I have even heard people spawn in the enemy MCC... |
