LINK "Hello Mercs, Dust 514 will at some point soon have a connected trade system where Eve players will be able to get ISK to mercs in the form of contracts. So long as there is a way to get ISK from eve players to Dust mercs the type of contracts that can be made is limitless providing it is within the rules of the Eve online universe. So, while we wait for this to finish development I thought I might start us off with an open contract. First of all, who am I? I am an Eve player and I want to introduce you to the rules of New Eden. I have several billion ISK at my disposal from years of doing industry in Eve Online and I want to make you rich with ISK. The rules of the game are simple: Eve player make contracts. Dust merc except contracts. Dust merc completes contract. Dust merc gets paid. The contract is this: At 17/01/2013 @ approx 2:30am GMT the Dust 514 Merc "Example Core" is top of one of the leader boards. His stats are as follows: Kills: 4310 K/D: 5.55 W/L: 4.10 WP: 281,749 This contract is a bounty. I want this individual killed 5 times. Every kill must have video evidence which is to be posted on www.youtube.com and linked on the Dust 514 beta forum under the general discussion catagory. The video/videos are also to be posted on this thread. All of the video evidence must clearly show all of the following: - The name of the target displayed on the screen (shows when aiming). - The death of the target with visual confirmation. - The WP addition is to be displayed on the video indicating you were the killer of the target. Reward: To the first Dust 514 Merc that can complete this contract I offer a sum of 500,000,000 ISK (Five hundred million). All of the conditions of this contract must be met to receive the reward. Please feel free to post on this thread to indicate that you are willing to accept the undertaking of this contract. As it is an open contract all Dust 514 Mercs may apply and compete for the reward. I hope you all enjoy your stay in New Eden" Any takers? BTW, this is not me. But since I can't log in to PSN, 50 million ISK to copy & paste is easy enough.

I asked the same question, but since there is currently no method to transfer funds. You would just have to take his word for it. Though I suspect honor is worthless in New Eden, so take it for what you will.

Honor goes very far in New Eden, entire wars have been ended out of respect but honor is like trust, it can be easily lost

If there Is way to get the money dust side the rest of the issues are really not a big problem. But if its trust me the money is here kinda thing. Then F- it I don't trust tin foil hat space pirates. If this guy wants to be serious then he needs to set up some way to transfer the money dust side.. good luck with that. Other than that this is just another space nerd showing he has more isk than brains. Put up or shut up!

As I stated earlier, the recording requirement ensures you have only one or two bounty hunters in any given match which does not constitute a mob. All I see happening is that Exmaple doesn't have to chase down his victims because they come to him. It might work against a mediocre player if you eliminated the recording requirement, but as presented it's still meh...

Yes, EVE pilots have more ISK. The two games were designed with economies separated by orders of magnitude. The brag falls apart when you consider that the OP did nothing more to gain that status than to sign up for an EVE account. This attempt to use the disparity falls apart at once because CCP knows it is a big issue and has barred any economic interaction. Even when the tap opens it will begin with a 90% transfer tax. By the time things open up more it will be trivial to get your own EVE side corp to fund you with far less effort than chasing a single merc around public matches. The telling point of his cluelessness is that he threatened a DUST merc with the EVE pilot's bogeyman without considering the absurdity of it. Threaten a merc with five deaths? OMG! That's ..., well, that's par for the course in any given match. Getting podded is a big thing in EVE as demonstrated by kill mail, but consider how that would work in DUST. You log in for the day to see that you have mail: 5k messages each containing the full kill feed of a match. The OP clearly did not put much thought into this effort.

Then they can go split the bounty and laugh at the moron who puts up the contract. 500 Million ISK splits nicely down the middle. Heck a 90/10 in favor of maple puts 50 Million ISK in your wallet and 450 million in his. Its a nice way to rack kills too in pub matches. Everything about this bounty is dumb;- begining to end.

Many of the notorious pirates would carry a high bounty for status reasons or baiting people into a fight. It didnt matter that a corp mate could blow up their ship and share the prize.

I was also looking at the thread on the PSN network and the OP says the video can be made with anything like a camera phone.

In order to collect the 2,000,000 isk you must post a video on youtube of the kill, in addition you must kill him in a specific fashion. You must jump twice, spin 360 degrees, throw a flux grenade at his feet, then melee him to death. These steps must be completed within 10 seconds after the first jump. Each kill done in this fashion will be rewarded with 2,000,000 isk.

I believe this game moves into open beta soon. The term open means that it is open to the public and therefore the NDA no longer applies. You have been informed of this bounty prior to the open beta so you have a head start over new players joining you for the open beta. Consider this my gift to you for taking part in the closed beta. Transferal of the reward: The isk will be transfered to whom ever completes the contract in what ever manner CCP permits, when CCP permits it. Good luck on your hunt."
