Nope. I spent about $140 on Merc packs. I bought 4 merc packs when they were $10 and 5 merc packs for $20. Merc packs come with the default 30 day booster. All you need is the passive booster. I am already ISK self sufficient and sitting on 90000 AUR. I heard them merc packs are really expensive in the EUR region. In the US regions it is only $20 i.e. 15 EUR.
PS: My sheets are egyptian cotton at 500 thread count  |

I spend anywhere between $500 to $1000 on gaming every month. If you have spend. If you dont;- well dont. I know some people that I role with that cant afford stuff. Thats when I give them my ISK. If you corp takes care of you, you really dont have to worry about AUR/ISK. |

True. But here is the difference when in comes to Corps. My corp mate and I can have the same skills in say Assault proto. But I have about 7 million skill points more than him and I have skilled in tanking with proto rails. This way I can call in my tank and have someone else drive it.
It has it advantages. |

Quick can speak for himself or have another director speak for him. I'm proud to be a former STB member, but I needed a change.
I've found a great home with some great people in Imperfects, looking forward to working with them on community projects, events and player balance issues. |

Oh it certainly does, i'm not debating that... but the level of dominance between gear\skills isn't as significant once you get to a certain point... Not that I really know what that point is.  |

I guess the point will be the role you would like to play vs the role that you are good at. After spending time on these builds since march I have realized that I love running and gunning in a scout suit, but found out I am more useful sniping in my logi suit. I guess when I have have maxed out my sniper it would nice to running with my Balacs in my proto scout suit.
Welp I am sitting on over 1.1 million Sp. So far I am a SP maxer. |

With the passive SP bug and now maintenance I can't be max - although until today I did cap ut everyday and I was supposed to have had boosted passive sp from literally a minute after the server went up. |

I think if the game is down then no-one is getting active SP, so you keep your SP maXXer title. You only lose it when you miss SPs that other people were able to get. |

Thing is I haven't been been no lifing it, just active and passive boosters. Play a few hours on Wed and Thurs, hit the cap, then I go about my business playing matches here and there. All the while still working by my full time J.O and going to school, among other things. |

I have both boosters on since the beginning and managed to cap almost every active SP possible but it's mostly to reach back the SP amount i had before the last reset. When total SP is more confortable, i'll probably chill a little 
Also, you now forget about the 1000 SP soft cap. i'd be curious to know how much SP one manage to scrap with that cap 
And for holidays and the like, if CCP actually gives us the "rollover" thingy, it will solve the problem. |

I do not see this obsession With Sp maxing out everyweek.
Due to the way the skill system works those who max out will eventually have one advantage and that is options.
for example the player who first maxes out all the skills to lvl 5 (very unlikely but keep with me) when in his chosen drop suit will still have the same stats as a player who has got level 5 in all stats relevant to that suit.
Ok at the moment there isnt that many skills and subsets yet but once all 4 races involved you will see this alot more of this potential,
the most you could manage at a sinlge moment is maxed out suit skills and maxed out vehicle skills but if you got maxed out vehicle skills your probably not going to be using your dropsuit unless you get defeated so makes it null/void compared to someone who has only maxed out his vehicle skills.
this is why i enjoy the eve skill system anyone can catch up with another player in one aspect because you will never be able to utilize all your skill points at one time.
this is how eve keeps noobs on same level as the vets and how no one can get to far ahead.
So brings up question why do some insist on maxing out your skill points to no lifer limits and some of those look down on those who dont?? (I know the second is only limited to a few individuals and not all)
So my point apart from bragging rights and your epeen why does it matter if you have the maxed out sp ?

Technically, you could go over max because you still get SP even after the cap. So, there really isn't a universal max SP. |
