So, given how cut up people seem to be about the tiniest possibility of missing out on some potential skill points, I wonder if we'll see a "SP max elite" emerge. A group of players that started on Jan 10th 2013, have hit their SP cap every single day since, and have also had both active and passive boosters running continuously.
I imagine there's a few of you out there currently, but how long will you be able to maintain it for, and how will you cope with holidays, emergencies and the like?
Who will be the last SP maXXer standing, when all others have fallen by the wayside and missed days?

I have my passive and active boosters running for the next 9 months. Even if I dont play a single game and come back in 9 months I will have 9.7 mil SP.
Dont need to worry about gaming with passive boosters . I will have my proto even without playing. |

Ahh, but have you hit your active SP cap every day? If you miss even a single day then you drop out of the SP maXXer club. Its not about having _high_ SP, its about having _max_ SP. |

Edit: Would have had 20K sp more if it were not for the Passive SP Boosta bug |

I'm there besides the passive SP bug I wasn't gaining passive SP for the first day till I read on here you had to switch it over to an alt and switch it back..
Other then that I have hit the cap everyday since.. Although like some others have posted, it does feel like a job almost missed it last night got called out to work but made sure I stayed up an extra hour to hit it lol (Pretty pathetic i know but hey to each is own)
I love the cap but they really do need to change it to at least roll over so you don't feel like you're not going to be competitive if you miss it but I won't go into that be it there are a dozen other SP debate threads!
I plan on hitting it every day till they fix it, (if they fix it) hopefully that's before anything pressing happens IRL ! |

it shouldn't make a huge difference. so they get a few more skills to lvl 5. max boosters/max skill cap is going to be a larger difference.
plus in a month or two you should already have your path leveled out so it shouldn't really matter. |

All it will do is gives a 2 month jumpstart on non sp booster players. AFter 4-5million it doesnt really matter, or so ive been told but these next 2 months i can find time to play 1-2hrs a day. That will give me roughly 5million SP at the end of it. |

Even with the SP cap the 75 SP earned after the cap (with active booster) will add up over time. If you play only 5 games a day after reaching the cap for 7 days a week that totals 2,625 "over the cap" SP in a week. That would be an extra 136,500 "over the cap" SP in a year. After I reach the cap, I keep playing for the ISK and for the fun of it all.
It would be hard to find the SP maXXers with the "view player" options there are now and the limited search function of the leaderboard. |

they sell the leveled mercs to other players accounts for isk and real money and CCP will eventually put a stop to it. |

passive AND active running for 9 month.... That's something like 38 weeks at 14k AUR per week. Knowing that 1.99e is worth 4000 Aur.
Yeah, that's about 250 euros. 200 if you buy larger packs maybe. Must be nice to fart is silk sheets. But hey, good for CCP. |

I do that too fellas.. Cleaning the apartment, cooking, ironing, etc... And dust runs in background.... That's how dumb the system is. A tweaked weekly cap would have been a better solution, no doubt about that. And i say that knowing that i never reached the former weekly cap. So after all, daily cap is better for me to max out SP. Yet i dont like it.
How dumb is it ? Seriously ? Active SP are now won at 90% through......... being passive. Rock the game or stay AFK and it ends up with 2k difference in SP. Over a 40k daily cap, you'll spare what ? one game by playing actively ?
At this rate, going full passive would have been a better choice. And i maintain they should have stick to their EVE model on that one and NEVER ever EVER mention active SP or even think of it. as now it's too late.... And the current SP system is, in my humble opinion the confession of CCP that they regret ever introducing active sp and trying to control the damage. |

Which reflects on a point that many have spoke on repeatedly. The SP gap is only glaring at low levels and mid levels... Once you get to 7-8 mli SP... the difference between that and a 15 mil person isn't as great (given that's if the lower SP guy actually specced correctly without jumjping all over the place). The biggest difference will be the higher SP guys have a greater variety to choose from. |

It's not dead as it still works. If you continue to play after you hit the cap, you will earn 50 SP w/o a booster and 75 with. So it still works technically so long as you are actively playing.. thus an active booster :P .
Active boosters I can tell you they are not meaning for people to run with these all the time. Once you hit 4-5 mil SP, you've pretty much spec'd into something (hopefully you haven't just randomly choosen stuff). Yes someone with 15 mil sp may have more more options as far as fittings, but the differences are just not as far out. And here's why:
You will have Weaponry at lvl 5 , so will they You will probably have a Proto Suit.. so will they You will have your weapon of choice at lvl 5... so will they
The only differences would be.. Maybe you can only use Proto in 1 dropsuit, while they can use 2 proto dropsuits.. or proficient in 2 weapons instead of 1. But that doesn't mean just because they can use both a sniper and an assault rifle, you can't be as proficient in your particular weapon.. so still an even playing field. So higher levels of SP just means more options, but at a certain point, the gap in SP becomes negligable and it just becomes about options. |
