Especially in the 5 minutes of firing on a titan from both hostile and friendly fleets and the pilot decides to turn off tanking.
We're getting much closer to instagibbing a titan, we got pretty close at 1 minutes time because the idiot fit cargo expanders and miners to his. |

Biased coz EVE player.
Yet, I love the idea that ships involved in bombardment could be boarded and counter-boarded (by defenders). Like that the battleground would be expanded to ships involved.
The idea about abandoned NPC ships which could be gained for a corp is also cool.
Generally, I got the impression that CCP showed a lack of vision in the last two years. And there are interesting ideas in this discussion thread. |

NPC generated ships is a massive protest ticket.
IE see industrialist and how much of the eve market is dependent on them. |

Also effort costs of taking a cap ship with mercs vs the reward/failure isnt even.
also this here is a to scale titan in a fps game
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPeb547pis0
A station take over is just as big, they're not capsuleer controlled, have plenty of roaming room inside them for full scale army conflicts interanlly. Can host multiple matches without 'dissappearing' all of a sudden. A station cannot troll, cannot bait, cannot self destruct. Drastically lowers the chances of getting scammed out if you accept that contract. Is not effected by time dilation mechanics and not a thrown match caused by the pilot him/herself
And it takes about a week or two of seige a station to take it over form space.
I file ship boarding an eve ship near equivalently a just as bad of an idea as manned space fighters trying to kill eve pilots.
Boarding an MCC to destroy it I can see doable provided the rest of the interior is designed proper. |

Nobody claimed that you should get high prized infrastructure for a 30 minute match in Dust. You could break a battle for a cap ship into sections and only once all sections are won over by the same faction, the cap ship changes owner and is available. As a producer in EVE, I agree that such cap ships should not rain down from the sky. But a reasonable occurrence could work. I would see cap ships as something rare and it has to involve considerable effort of a faction to take one over.
Ships involved in orbital bombardment are medium sized (300m). So, they could be at stake. |

I like the idea of shipboard combat, but making it player ships in EvE seems entirely unfair to the EvE players, even with hiring people to defend the ship, they have virtually no real means of defending themselves.
But this could be implemented with floating hulks above planets (such as defeated cap ships, wrecks, etc.) to recover usable salvage. Have the opposing force be planted in a last ditch attempt to deny the enemy resources, or make titan/supercap wrecks salvageable only by mercs, making them a sort of contestable in space territory. I could see this happening if said supercaps could be explained as having CRUs on board, thus requiring the party attempting to take the wreck to destroy the enemy clone storage bay or clone supply (like in ambush) in order to take the objective. The defending team on the other hand could win through depleting the enemy's clones or placing strategic charges to destroy the wreck.
Additionally, we do have stations that switch hands in 0.0 conflicts. Maybe make them like planets with defendable/capturable districts. |

CCP will probably need to add a super-titan style of ship in order to justify us being able to board it. If I was an eve player, i would be extremely upset about losing my titan to something like this. |

They won't make anything bigger then a titan. We already can barely fit one titan in a large POS. And titans can't dock so that's an added issue. |
