At some point, I would like for Dust mercs to be able to land on and fight their way into EvE ships to destroy it and the pilots pod. Wanna know why? Here's some text from the EvE forums:

Somewhere in FW space: EVE player: "Hey DUSTie, want some orbital support? Just 50 mil." DUST player: "No thanks bro." EVE player: "Ok. Well then pay me 50 mil anyway or I bomb you." DUST player: "..." Actually sounds kind of fun That would be great if there were actually a way to transfer isk between the two games. Still, looking forward to this new chapter in the beta! I like this idea, it's the nature of eve that the weak yield to the strong. Lets have no protection for the dust bunnies. They should be treated the same as any other item in eve. They are expendable and destructible. Welcome to New Eden Dust Bunnies...
Now then, since the PC and EvE crowd seems so gung-ho on dropping us, I say that we should have an EvE ship hunting mode where we take a squad or two and get to attempt to hunt down EvE pilots who become too big of a nuisance.
Not sure how it we would get to the hull to fight our way in yet, but EvE pilots could be given slots on their ships for automated defense systems (and perhaps some controllable by the EvE player) that would attempt to protect their ships, and we could fight our way in with like a time limit and limited clones.
The ground based weapons they plan to give us that take out only the ships at the planet we are fighting on are NOT ENOUGH! If I am getting trolled by an EvE players, I deserve to be able to troll back goddammit! |

Easy fix. Delay notifications of a boarding party until the first player lands, Once players reach a certain point of the ship, they can hack it and end the self destruct sequence and loot it for extra rewards. Either way, you are out a ship if you SD, and we get paid for it. |

so far, i like this idea, maybe create a special drop ship that can fly in orbit, and launch "Drones" that contain dust mercs that latch onto ships, we are going to be bombarded by titans and battlecruisers, why not let us a chance to blow them up?
Or atleast give us a choice of either Orbital Bombardment or Atmospheric nuke to destroy any ships that help the enemy team. |

The trolling i can see being a problem at first, because of the overwhelming number of snob pc gamers play eve, however, i feel there will be alot of shots we can pull off with orbital cannons that will kitten them off, and once they realize how important mercs can be (ccp is not going to make a whole nother game without it being important) they will have to ADAPT OR DIE (always wanted to say that)
On the boarding parties? HELL YES! also a good thing for small corps to do if they cant always field a full battle squad and sitll help out, by boarding ships during combat |

Boarding parties wont happen for a long long time I'm sure, there are far two many ships that CCP would have to create maps for. As far as endlessly bombarding planets, that wont happen until we can endlessly fire back at EVE players, so I wouldn't worry to much about any of this. |

Girls girls girls. It's really simple. If EvE players start REALLY acting up, then it's as easy as having your whole corp get a trial on EvE. Then you all learn anchoring lvl 1. I won't explain the rest to avoid causing trouble, but 10000 cargo containers directly under a station seems to mess with things in that system. Like unbearable lag.
So, if EvE wants to mess with us, we can mess with them too. Because an EvE trial is free :) |

You are probs right, but I'm such a nOOb @ EvE I wouldn't know. Don't get me wrong, it's not something I like the idea of (well, not much), but someone else mentioned it, and it seems like viable industrial action :P I'm sure people will work out many ways to mess with both Dust and EvE. |

I strongly suspect that CCP is well aware of the issues and will ensure that we can't troll each other for a long time. It's in their interest to make all this effort and expense pay off and they control every aspect of the integration.
It's just like bringing home a new baby and having to deal with the jealously of the existing child. The kid may feel neglected and resent any attention given to the new baby, but with time and effort it will welcome its new sibling and enjoy playing with it. |

The kid may feel neglected and resent any attention given to the new baby, but with time and effort it will welcome its new sibling and enjoy playing with it. You also have to remember that here in the internet based world, the kids are 300001% more spoiled than any kid to every exist IRL. We have to accept that a huge chunk of EvE will never be with us or for us, always and forever denouncing CCP for "wasting money on a console FPS instead of making one for PC or dumping that money into improving EvE". That means constant battling between Dust and a large portion of EvE, which means there will be a LOT of people in EvE griefing Dust players at every possible opportunity. We need to make sure we have every means to fight back that we possibly can.
We're not just up against the EvE crowd, but the PC elitists as well. And as you all know, no gamer feels more entitled than the PC Elitist. |

I wish people would think this through before suggesting it for the thousandth time. Being able to destroy EVE players ships would be monstrously boring for the DUST players and monstrously unfair to the EVE players. It's especially comical because you're proposing it as a counter to a capability the capsuleers don't even have. |

well, say you board a ship, whats stopping the ship from docking/logging off and what happens to the eve player can they just go about there business while a battle rages on internally? does the ship get locked down until the battle is finished?
edit: i guess it might be cool if an eve ship could launch of kind of weapon that would lock on to a ship and then put a game up on dust that'll start a game to take over the ship.. lol |

This is why I don't think this will ever happen; now boarding space stations, on the other hand, seems much more feasible. |

Yeah, out in nullsec, instead of just bashing a station into submission, you could have it so when you did finally beat it to submission, well now you have to infiltrate and conquer that motherkitten.. all dusty like. |

@ Overlord Utah
We will be getting surface to space cannons (STSC) that will eliminate those pesky spacemen. Also, I was in Red Rock Lounge, and the bombardments are occurring in lowsec space, and a pirate went off on a "patrol" for the OBS. So hook up with some pirates, win a match (in future) that has a STSC and boom, the conversation ends like this.
Dust player: So, 50 mill to not get bombarded? How about you pay me 150 mill so I don't send pirates and goonswarm on your ass or blow your precious ship to pieces EVE player: *left space* Enemy Dust player: Where's my OBS!? |

or we could board the ships, hijack it and then ransom it back to the player for lets say 50% more than the original price of their ship, if they dont pay up we can either 1: sell the ship for isk to be divided amongst the squad/team, 2: make the ship go BOOM 3: use it for ourselves, those who have EVE etc etc |
