So if a player can earn SP/ISK per time in the game and never have to leave the red line, why would they?
Just bringing this up because if it is time related, people in a skirmish that are getting red lined or bad at game and just dont want to mess with it (pick one). They can just sit in the back with no danger and hit the daily cap everyday... CCP did you think about this kind of AFK farming?

This is going to be a huge problem.
All the redlining is bad enough as it is now half the team will be doing nothing. |

Skirmish Battle lasts around 20 minutes, so:
20 x 60 = 1200 seconds x 5 sp per second = 6000 SP per AFK game.
With the cap being 27,200 sp per day, it would take 4.5 games to reach max from doing nothing.
But, it sounds like a real boring time if you ask me, unless you're a "red line" sniper... which I'm not.
EDIT: Fixed in respect to snipers who do their job correctly. |

Hey! Sniping is not boring. Most snipers stay in one place. Thats boring. Good snipers move around. Sniping is a lot of fun actually. Snipers FTW!

So, targets which don't move and don't shoot back are a bad thing? I, for one, like them already ;) Although SP for being in game should be awarded only when the player is outside the redzone in my opinion... |

Redlining and Spawn camping are definitely a huge problem in this game and I wish there were ways around it....with that said I'm not so sure that CCP can do a thing about it. We just have to do what we can in game to get away from the situation when it arises.
This is exactly something that is absolutely not allowed or tolerated in my corp....It would be nice if more corps went the same way but for some it's just the points that matter.
Personally I think when someone is pushed so far back that they're being redlined then the game just sucks all together and is major boring $hit. |

Not gaining SP in red zone is a good solution.
But targets that don't move and don't shoot back ARE a bad thing. Since they are in the red line, all the have to do is sit behind a building and you won't have a snipe shot at them at all, very boring.

Maybe that's the case, but CCP is making it worse by giving incentives for people to AFK. That's hardly helping redlining and camping at spawn. |

I made some propositions in the section that is actually read by devs (Feedback/Requests ;) that build on upon the redline idea here So I hope just that the current variables for SP awards are just a framework which will be built upon by CCP after gathering some actual data, like how many players are affected by this and their behaviour in game. So KDR may be one of the metrics they can use to award the SP, so players who didn't shoot anyone or haven't been shot by an enemy would gain nothing. Just a thought though... |

We've already had this payout based on time in match, now that they've said how many SP's you gain over what period of time it's suddenly going to become a problem? Although I'm a firm believer in the inherent laziness of humans why would any sane person be bothered with doing this? If you're never going to play why care about skilling up? You'll get a faster gain running a starter suit, getting killed 20 times and dropping a single Nano. Honestly don't see the cause for concern, anyone performing this sad form of farming will be a New Eden non-entity as they have zero concept of efficiency. |

How about if your character does not move for move then 3 minutes you get kicked with out SP or ISK. If you spend more than X amount of time in the red line you forfeit your position on the team i.e. kick no SP no ISK. If more then X % of your team are camping behind the red line, your entire team forfeit the match.
I can't see this being a big problem in corp v corp matches, Any corp that's worth it's salt in battle would not do this, well at least I hope they wouldn't, doesn't seem like a sound tactic to me anyhow.

I can't really imagine being so hard up for SP standing in the MCC is a better option than playing. But this is the internet were talking about. yeah this could be a legitimate problem. |

I like this solution a lot, my only concern is it's a daily reset. Not all of us can get on everyday but after about 5m SP it becomes a little bit of a moot point i guess once Core skills are done anyway, it's still a concern though. |

wait for friendly fire to be turned on and you'll get TK'd for doing nothing. with luck, friendly fire will be implemented along with voting. that way you can vote to kick someone who team kills too much and vote to kick someone who is just sitting there and not helping. |

Forgot their adding friendly fire, do you happen to know will friendly fire be applyied across the board or only in low to null sec space? But yup friendly fire would solve a lot of these issues |

Perhaps a better solution is that when X% of a team is in the read line for X amount of time, the battle simply goes to the other team? Why should a team that is performing so badly get an unending amount of "second chances"? Immortal soldier or not, clones are expensive, as is their equipment so why continue to throw meat in the grinder if there is no hope of winning?

I don't know any of the details about friendly fire other than it's not turned on now and it will be at some point. I did a quick search for friendly fire in the dev posts but only found this : https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=439190#post439190

^ This, I think either friendly fire would take care of this, or at least kicking inactive players in the redline or in general. If you're actively scouting or sniping, you're gonna be moving.
also, In Eve you have to pay your $15 sub fee to earn passively.
