this is very simple random afk timer. after 2-3 minutes of no actions on the character. it gets kicked and loses all SP for that match. or black list so players can report people afking and they get the smack down by concord or a fine |

I think its stupid that they're reward people with SP for doing nothing like whats the point. Passive Sp is fine right now.
Whats the point of playing the game if Im going to hit the cap faster. Also to the farmers who will be pulling this **** I'll find a way to troll. |

Passive SP for standing around in a match is suddenly a problem because of the daily SP cap, and made obvious by the imbalance between the passive (time) and active (WP) points awarded.
Don't have time to play due to other obligations? Just boot up the game and queue up a Skirmish match where you can stand around in your spawn. Check back on your merc every so often to put him in another match as you study or take care of your daily chores. That way you keep up with your cap and you get your real world obligations taken care of.
Need to move every so often? Get your kid to shuttle your merc back and forth, or build a modded controller to randomly twitch. I'm pretty sure someone could implement that with M/K pretty easily. It would generate an interesting arms race between CCP and SP farmers that would waste everyone's time.
Or...
CCP could simply implement a rolling SP cap, dump the time SP, multiply the WP/SP conversion, and double the result for the winning team. Imagine what would happen if you actually incentivized the behavior you wanted? |

My guess is they had this all planned out from the beginning and only kept it the original way for more effective and intensive beta testing.

Just bringing this up because if it is time related, people in a skirmish that are getting red lined or bad at game and just dont want to mess with it (pick one). They can just sit in the back with no danger and hit the daily cap everyday... CCP did you think about this kind of AFK farming?
Solution: Drop and orbital over the MCC ^_^ |

Agreed. I would be doing dishes and pushing my controller...watching football and leveling up...then again with the cap so small 3 games would not be much.
But I could not agree more with our society's problem with rewarding good behavior. |

I know you all are going to disagree with me, but I am going to throw it out there that there's people who are having their armor recharge and also people who love to play dust but get asked to do things while playing. Thus ending in AFK. I do think that this kind of farming is stupid, but I don't think a 2-3 min timer is the solution. Maybe no SP for the time you don't move around if its longer than 1 min. But not booted from game without any ISK/SP for the time you did play. |

The daily SP cap is so low that all these doesn't really matter. It just isn't possible to AFK grind SP because you'll reach SP cap so fast that the process can't be called grind. |

Inactivity boot + getting booted for MCC for camping = solution to AFK farming.:)

I can't see this being a big problem in corp v corp matches, Any corp that's worth it's salt in battle would not do this, well at least I hope they wouldn't, doesn't seem like a sound tactic to me anyhow.
THIS! but not because of farmers. Because Im tired of lasy team mates more worried about their k/d then winning, that and redline snipers. |

The daily cap with no roll-over creates a great deal of pressure to get your SP each and every day. It requires 6-7 Skirmish matches to claim all your SP, and it doesn't make much difference if you gain WP or not.
It's both faster and more enjoyable to actually play a match than sit and watch your merc stand in the MCC, but on those days that you just don't have the time to spare AFK grinding is a way to "keep up".
You actually accrue SP slower farming this way, but unlike repairing LAVs you don't have to be doing anything. The combination of daily pressure and an AFK way to get your points creates a perverse incentive that will be exploited.
Add roll-over and you reduce the pressure. Flip the WP and time bonus multipliers and you reduce the practicality. |

There should be some sort of time limit that players can stay in their own redline. Stop snipers from hidding there and stop tanks form camping there too. And if they do get redlined, gives more of an incentive to push enemy back rather than give up. |

There has been passive SP since the beta went live brother. But this is a different kind of passive. You get SP per second for being in a game whether you do anything or not, that is the difference.

I love it when people make angry and insulting comments without actually knowing what's going on |
