The Move to TQ is stated for the 10th and the Corp Migration Phases set the 10th-21st with Character resets the 22nd
At the bottum of the Corp Migration page it states this:
Quote:CCP Frame Important: These phases only apply to the corporations that want to keep their exact name from Singularity. If you already reserved a different corporation name with an EVE character, you will be able to promote your DUST character to a CEO position and go from there.
So does this mean that on the 10th after dwntime we can begin to bring the Merc's in our corps on TQ?
And so we are clear will we still be under NDA from the 10th- 21st ?
Thanks,
Shad

The character and corp reset will happen on the 10th during the migration to TQ. After that you can start accepting applications to your EVE corp on TQ. CEOs wanting to keep their existing corporation name will then get until the 21st to submit a petition.
We will still be in closed beta on TQ, so NDA is still in effect for anything DUST related. |

We will still be in closed beta on TQ, so NDA is still in effect for anything DUST related. What about this post by CCP Frame. It suggests that the wipe will be after the 10th once the migration starts:
Phase 1 GÇô The Grace Period This phase will be running from 10th - 21st of January. During this period CEOs of corporations will have to email our Game Masters at [email protected] and inform them which corporation name on Tranquility they would like to use. Example: GÇ£I would like to rename *Temporary Corporation Name* on Tranquility to *Current Corporation Name from Singularity*.GÇ¥ This way our Game Masters will make sure that your corporation name is ready for the post-migration. Please note that corporation names on Singularity are locked on Tranquility, preventing players from creating new corporation with that exact name.
Phase 2 GÇô The Migration Once the migration starts, all characters will be moved to Tranquility and full character reset will occur. CEOs will have to create the new *Temporary Corporation Name* on Tranquility that he provided to our Game Masters. https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=50064&find=unread

Sooo basically OP vets incoming on release... Us vets will be a bit overpowered but the few weeks won't make a massive difference. The difference will come from being knowledgeable of the game rather than SP and ISK. At a weekly hard cap of 190,400 SP we won't be that far ahead. The fact we know where to spend it will be the difference |

I'd also like to know whether there will be a wipe for release in case I go crazy enough to splurge on a second Mercenary pack (hopefully this will work)
For the record it would a HUGE mistake to release the game without wiping one final time. Vets will already have a huge advantage in knowing the maps, where to spend ISK/AUR, let alone with several weeks of headstart on n00bs. |

I can't see this being possible...though it would be nice to hear from CCP.
I'm pretty sure on a final release they'll do one last wipe as I don't think the ability to let all of us be so far ahead of all the newbies that come in on the release.
That would be detrimental to their state of mind and cause them to quit before they get the patience to continue ;-) |

Not so sure this is the best idea.....I hope they take into consideration the new people that come along for the Initial game release. I know of people who won't beta test and will only wait for the release of the game as they don't want to deal with any bugs. That in mind, they may not keep the new people who come in and are slaughtered just stepping into a game by all us vets.

And one thing to remember is that open beta IS pretty much a 'final release' in a sence that after that all things after that is just tweaking, refinging and adding expansions. Same as in EVE.
And back in the day when EVE 'lauched' it went to boxed release at first that was percieved as a releace, but in reality there hasn't been official big announcement, afaik, of end of open beta phase for EVE. So technically even EVE is still in open beta phase. |

yea, not that big of a head start for us from closed beta to open beta so I am OK with that.
I am OK with not having a reset at launch (caveat coming) as long as upon full release they have game modes set up for new players...militia only games...games with no vehicles...that way even though they are behind us in SP, they do not have to constantly go up against us. |

based on this Dev post by CCP Frame : https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=50021&find=unread
Quote:New system: Daily cycle (reset at downtime) Daily allowance of 27,200 SP per day (hard-capped) Linear returns to warpoints and time spent GÇô the better you play, the more you earn (until you hit the cap) - Warpoints earned are converted into skillpoints (1 WP = 1 SP) - Time spent in battle grants SP (1 second = 5 SP) - Consolation prize of 50 SP per battle once the daily cap has been hit
Quote:Further clarification to the Skill Points gain system changes: If you get the active booster the cap is raised to 40.800 SP per day. The numbers are only for the active skill gains. Passive gain will still be at 24.000 SP per day, or 36.000 SP per day if you're running a booster.
So: with booster, max is 76,800 SP a day (1,075,200 in 2 weeks) + Consolation prizes if any without booster, max is 51,200 SP a day (716,800 in 2 weeks) + Consolation prizes if any |

You guys are getting too wrapped up in this "head start" concept. Yah you'll have some extra SP and better gear... but it's not all about that. EvE players kept their beta SP. I can't imagine it'll be that different in DUST. CCP isn't following the 'standard model' here... this is a long-term game. They are betting people will dig the persistence and stick around for a while. I'm coming up on 7 years of playing EvE... so believe me when I say it's a sound strategy and concept. A month or two isn't going to give you much of an advantage in the long run. There's a T1 cruiser (8 mil ISK fit spaceship) that's been baiting an popping T3 cruisers (340+ mil isk fit spaceship) in Jita for the last couple of weeks. CCP Nullarbor wrote:For now we are remaining in closed beta from the DUST side of things but short of anything catastrophic occurring as we head towards open beta (knock on wood) this will be the last reset for DUST characters. So enjoy those skill points mercenaries, you earned them.

Nomed Deeps wrote:A Few Questions:
- The corp names we used on Singularity are unable to be used on Tranquility, correct?
- How exactly is the temp corp name being reserved where no one else can create it if you have to re-create it yourself?
- Are we notified if our temp corp name (given via email) is not available or is already taken on Tranquility?

It is the final Character Wipe before release is they way I saw it posted. I would certainly expect at least one more client update by release and several server updates that tweak things they can do strictly from the server side. What the Kitten those are, I have no real idea.
Well Dust isn't ever going off Open Beta , When a game is final they , the company cannot make any major changes.
So Dust will stay open beta for the reason to add expansions etc.

To all those wondering if there should be a further wipe before go-live.. When we hit Tranquillity we'll also be running off the same database as EVE. The thought of trying to untangle the Dust-specific parts of that for a partial reset probably strikes fear into the most hardened CCP developer, and such a thing has (to my knowledge) only ever been done once in the history of the game (old dev blog at http://community.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=761).
tl;dr: this is it... We're going to hit the big time. And I for one am rather excited |

Due to HTML in it, not letting me copy/pase directly out of but here is what I asked and his answer...
Me: If there is no other reset on Dust characters past the 10th, then we will have a few weeks head start on all the new players that in on Open Beta, and even longer at release?
Nullarbor: yes
Sooo basically OP vets incoming on release...
Wait, so this is the final reset? I've always assumed there will be a reset on release?
