Let's not make this a hate thread okay? This isn't directed at any one specific person or group.
I just wanted to point out that when I'm playing a match alongside some of the really good corporations I get a really low placement on the boards. Not to mention the game starts to feel boring and too easy, or frustrating and difficult
Yet, when these corporations are not in the same battle as I am, I'm almost always on the very top in terms of warpoints (I play medic). The game feels perfect and full of challenges this way.
I support teamwork 100%. When I see a good corp on the top of the scoreboard, it lets me know that they were working together and playing together as a team should. The problem is that this kind of gameplay rewards the one group at the top, and the rest of us get little to no warpoints even though we're all on the same team. I might do wonderful that match and be the best blueberry on the team, but still be thousands of wp away from someone in a corp. ____________________
I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm a good player, and I wish that everyone on the same team worked together as a team instead of a bunch of little teams everywhere.
...or maybe I just need to join one of these corporations to make better use of my skills, except that I don't know which corporation would suit me best :/
Edit: maybe low sec battles will help balance this out? Edit again: I play medic a ton and get an average of 1000 wp in an ambush, 1500 in skirmish. I know how to get wp, but I can only get wp if my team is still being challenged by the opponent instead of beating the other team into the group. _____________________ Edit one last time: I'm not asking for advice or help or how I'm supposed to get better, I just want your opinion on powerful players ON YOUR TEAM doing all the work instead of working with you. (and maybe if you think I need to just join one of these corps instead of playing as a blueberry) |

my thought too.
If your current corp isn't right for you then you should move on, if your corp feels right for you but not doing what you need then it's the wrong corp.

Okay, of course it's boring when matches are unbalanced no matter which team you're on, but without corps having somewhere to go there is nothing that can be done about that at the moment. |

And a tinfoil bowtie to go with it.
Squad leader is much more than setting orders, and seeing as 95/100 squad leaders in random battles don't even place a single order, I would say my efforts are worthwhile.
Communication is much more important. I still have yet to find a player with a mic who is both communicating to the team and being a squad leader...probably because most of them are in decent corporations and only communicate there. |

No-one cannot take away your chance of getting warpoints. Yes, getting to finish the kills is very much harder, but kills aren't the only source of wp's.
Go with the kill squad and hack, chances are you get to do that. Set up links, put nanohives in tactical positions, take out red/neut turrets etc etc... Especially use medkit (nanite injector) to pick people up! You'll help a lot and get a TON of wp! |

If someone is able to come in and make your usual game feel like average, maybe it's time you wonder what they're doing differently so that they get top place and completely trample over you. And no, it's not just that there's 4 of them in the same room. I run solo, in fact my corp is a one man army, and even if not every single game, most games i'm entirely capable of finishing level or above whichever corp squad you can think of. Sure, some instill a lot of respect and make the game a lot more challenging but they're not doing anything that i can't try to mimic.
As an aside, i've learned to memorize the WarRavens name because i highly dislike it when i run into them in-game. I don't actually remember the OP, but other members of that corp appear to insist on being useless snipers and i detest them more when they're on my team. There were a handful of games in succession where i almost knew beforehand how the match would play out and the gist of it would be that whatever team they were in, it would lose. Either i'd be running around trying to hack objectives alone while a bunch sat on hills and would lose or i'd feel mosquito stings all match long and win. It was even worse when there was also some guy from a corp named Rubber Chicken Bombers. This merry group will get KDRs like 8-0, 14-0, 7-0, but i'd trade that for people who get out of the comfort zone deep in the mountains everytime. |

I agree the worst games are where the hostile team is redlined and give up on trying to break out. Fighting at the opposing redline is bad already but that is the worst.
I actually enjoy being redlined myself and consider a challenge to break out! (even though I honestly don't remember last time I got redlined, excluding the joining into game in progress, as there's always at least some uplinks. But bit offtopic, sry) |

In personal experience if a big and well organised corp has the enemy red lined its often best to stay away from the redline and patrol around the objectives is the enemy is smart (i know its assuming alot) they will try and sneak around to cap a CRU or place drop uplink if you can catch them at it before the spot you they often are confident after clearing the redline so they most likly wont see it coming and be using cheap suits to minamise risk.
This also has the added bonus of a weaker redline if a few people do it there fore the chances of the well organised redline may fall goes up so the match may become interesting again |

I'm an awesome medic, but if a corporation is on my team kicking the opponenet to the ground, where are the dead guys for me to revive? Where are the people for me to heal?

It sounds like you're more upset about unbalanced games. Otherwise you just seem to be complaining that you can't compete with organised/skilled players. |

If your playing a medic successfully then you should be pulling a minimum of 1k WP a game. With a Tech I suit and three pieces of equipment.
Try running nanohives / repair tool / injector. You get more points for a rez then you do a kill, onced rezzed armor repair them suckers and nanohives speak for themselves, you just have to get it into a position with high traffic and make sure there not hidden round the corner (as for some reason they dont show up unless your staring at them).
If you are redlined then a Tech II suit with an uplink / injector(Armor repair tool) will also pull in the points.
If you need any help message me in game. |

If a large corporation is playing alongside any team, there is a big gap between the warpoint totals of that corporation and the rest of the team. Not only this, but the lack of enemies to kill and friendlies to support also makes the gameplay less challenging because that corporation is doing exceedingly well.
So is my best solution to join a corp like this that will allow me to put my abilities to use? because I know for a fact that playing as a skilled blueberry will never be as effective as playing as a skilled corp member.
I don't like this. It makes me feel like I HAVE to be a part of a corporation.

Thank you, but I didn't ask for help or advice since I'm pretty sure I know how to play the position well. The reason I SOMETIMES can't get that minimum (like I keep telling everyone) is because larger corporations on my side prevent the opposing team from getting kills and such, leaving me with hardly anything to do but throw ammo around.

Using comms while in squad is huge. If i'm soloing I never use any kind of comms, but always use them in corp squads. There have been quite a few threads about using team comms etc. IMO there is no pt. to using them as noone will listen or just troll when you do.

not really sure what the OP's question is.. but yea when i'm with my corp i do consistently better. asking for the blue dots to be worth a crap is asking to be handed the moon and sun. it's foolish to rely on them for a second. i also play my share of random solo ambush in militia gear because is good to practice not having any help if you go into it with the mindset that your kdr is gonna probly suck it's not that dissapointing when it does, but i'm there solo for the practice not to pad a stat that's gonna be wiped anyway. sometimes i prefer solo to squad drama anyway and there's no one you have to worry about impressing. |

Hey Cyn, I agree with you - most people don't respond on comms when you are on team. It is rare, and a lot of them do like to troll. There are times, very rarely however, when you do find a quality player on team comms. That said, I rarely join them anymore either. |

I don't mean to sound insincere, but why spec into a support role and then object to having a dedicated team to support? If you want to be able to sprint around solo, helping random blueberries, that just isn't going to happen. If you aren't happy with this, then Dust just isn't the game for you. |

Well said NAV. Shayz, I don't think I've had a chance to squad with you yet but I don't know why anyone would complain that the team they're on is doing well. As one of the "useless snipers" that Yagihige mentioned, if my preferred role doesn't seem to currently be of much use I have no problem swapping to a different fitting that is useful. Being part of a team means doing what it takes to help the team, and that doesn't always mean playing your preferred style. |

Well I can understand where you're getting that from, but I'm sincerely not trying to do that. If you read the replies to this post you can see why I keep editing this post to tell people more about me.
People keep replying to me saying that I'm doing bad because I'm not being a good logistics player, or that I'm just complaining about everything. Neither are true, and so in order to explain myself better I have to give people some factual information. That's it, nothing more.
The other thing is that I am bad with dedication. I don't want to join a corp because I want to be in that corp, I'd rather be invited. I'm not saying that I don't want to be with the WarRavens, but I'm not supporting or dedicating myself to that corp. |
