Yeah, there seems to be roughly two types of matches. One where you are on the team that knows what it's doing, therefore domination is extremely easy (too easy). Or you are on the team opposing the team that knows what they are doing, and your team get's its rear handed to them 10 times over.
Both scenarios are not that exciting, although the former is 'better' since the loss of suits is much less of a possibility and it allows for easy KDR padding.
Every once in a while both teams are pretty even, and it makes for a tense and exciting fight all the way down to the last second of gameplay. Those are definitely the best. |

Agree with everything!
Hopefully they will have a greatly improved matchmaking system in the next build. The only thing worse than the boredom of completely dominating the enemy is adding the frustration of being totally dominated by the enemy. One of these 2 things describes about 90% of matches now (at least for me in Skirmish, which is all I play).
The other 10% of matches that are evenly pitted create incredible excitement. Hopefully the next build will have the percentages reversed so that 90% are exciting...100% would be ideal!
Off topic...but another thing I hope for is that CCP can really bring this whole thing together soon. From the first time I played 6 months ago until now it's just never felt like the game is complete and whole. It's like several different pieces of a game thrown together just to give people something to do. Of course I understand this is beta and hopefully we're only seeing pieces and parts for a reason. Hopefully there is a complete and whole game somewhere over at CCP studio.
Right now it's just kind of bland and blah...no different than any other multiplayer shooter with the standard 'tacked-on' feeling that's so familiar. Just battle after battle with no real purpose or meaning for doing so other than to get more stuff for your character. I think it's going to take much more than just knowing that the battles have meaning somewhere in the universe. Some visual indicators, some options and consequences for the choices made...these things are just a few that will need to be implemented in some meaningful way IMO.
I want to go into a battle feeling like the end result has some kind of real reward/encouragement for winning or some sense of real loss/punishment for losing. Not sure how they plan to do this but much needs to be done to make the game feel important and like what we're doing really matters for something bigger than gaining some cash/SP/gear/weapons/etc. The simple knowledge that winning battles is important to someone in the universe that's playing some other game somewhere just might not be enough to create real excitement IMO. I would like to see something real and really important right here in the world of Dust514!
