Bro I was being sarcastic, but its a very valid argument. You can't claim something is OP if there is nothing to compare it to, which makes my previous post very much spot on. And 99.9% of people who scream 'OP' are people have just started playing, who have no idea of the skills that can be learned related to each weapon, or dropsuit, or shield/armor, they don't cry 'OP' when its THEM using the supposed OP weapon, only when its used against THEM. |

Everything is OP. But everything is about equally OP.
Because of that, nothing is OP.
Assuming identical fittings and SP allocation, skill > luck. Assuming approximately even teams in context of SP allocations and fitting quality, teamwork > skill > luck > "OP" weapons.
I sometimes feel like my Shotgun Scout is OP, then I run into a good team with a decent Heavy or a good HAV driver who can act as a solid deterrent for me even passing through their area of control. Good snipers make my life hell too - but only GOOD snipers, not your average K/D farming idiot with a rifle. Every now and then, I find a really good Assault who keeps spotting me at range, and manages to keep me at bay with AR fire, preventing me from moving into range. I sometimes think that Heavy who keeps killing my Shotgun Scout is OP, then I remember that I have a tank. Or bring a Sniper Rifle next spawn and make him hide like he did to me. Every now and then, I meet someone who makes ARs look like they're OP again, but then I remember my Heavy with a Laser Rifle, or that same Sniper I used earlier, or my LOLTank again, or I find a way to lure them in close for my Shotgun, or at least into SMG range (can usually shred AR users in the right range bracket). |

To be fair, I think the emphasized is CCP's fault, and I think you've hit on a bigger issue than we think about sometimes. I get that it's a beta, but they really need to start giving us some damn instructions to beta test :)!
Seriously, for a game with this much mechanics going on, it can be pretty frustrating finding answers to some questions. And while SP is in a pretty good place now I think, it still takes enough time that trial and error with it is a real turn-off. Help new players understand how things are supposed to work, help get them started, and you have less of a problem with the boy crying OP later. I think they added some this build or the last that was a real step in the right direction, but they could still use some newbie hand-holding. FWIW, I thought this was a weak point of EVE Online as well, so take that for what it is. A game with a steep learning curve should have good tutorials... seriously, if we're dropping isk and SP into stuff, give us a GD training area. A merc who's never flown a day in his life being expected to learn on the fly in battle is very silly. |

You made some very good points there A training mode of some kind would help alot. And it is very embarrassing for a new guy to be dropped in the middle of a battle when he has no idea what's going on. But on the other hand there will probably be other game modes that can help with training someone, maybe price ate matches between friends on a training map. Its still early days. |
