Im a newer beta player. and i can say with certainty i have killed every class of vehicle and dropsuit, from militia to proto with a variety of weapons, from AR to lasers to hmg to mas driver to forge gun.
I even killed a dude with a scram pistol. my worst weapon. i only have access to level 3 mass drivers, forges and HMG.
Skill, and tactical acumen mean more than gear. but proto just arent fun to tackle still, but they are doable. Solo is still likely to get you killed unless you are johnny FPS and thats all you do for fun.
I believe that new players need to have a chance, and have no sympathy for people who want toe proto to be a total license to LOLroll anyone with less spectacular gear.
EVE and CCP dont play that game. I can kill a small squadron of battleships with nothing but a pack of tier 1 frigates in EVE, so the expectation thzt the proto should be able to godwalk across everyone lesser is both stupid and game destroying for any potential new players. I want players to come in and have fun enough to stay, not come in and realize they have no chance without a year of SP specializing to catch up, like EVE.
If you think time pent means you should LOLroll, get out. we dont want you here.

If you nerf forge that removes the only dumb fire antiarmor (tank) weapon in the game. with the charge times between shots if you are getting nailed you are dealing with one of four things.
1:the gunner got lucky trying to lead you.

4: the gunner got the drop on you and kiled you before you saw him
If you are a vehicle driver and you get killed from across the map it means you are not taking advantageof the fact that all maps have cover that will stop a forge from killing you while you rep, and the fact that there is no fatsuit that can outrun you to chase you.
Finally, and most importantly, if four forges are bombarding you and you die, working as intended.
If you eat two forge shots in close order you are screwing up as a vehicle driver.
Forge guns, for you COD veterans, are dumb fire javelins. TREAT THEM AS SUCH AND DONT SIT THERE LIKE A STUNNED SHEEP WHILE THEY SHOOT YOU TEN TIMES!!!!
forge guns are tank killers. working as intended. if you are an infantryman and you stand infront of one when it goes off you get to enjoy the succulent feeling of becoming a grease spot.
Forge guns are working as intended. without forge guns shield tanks are unstoppable to anything but tanks.
Even in real life tanks that are not supported by infantry get immobilized, torn apart or cut open and the crew murdered by infantry in close quarters or in antitank kill range.
Quit trying to solo LOLroll in a tank.
Further, you are going to lose a gorram tank, dropship or LAV. The eve rule now applies to DUST in full measure.
DO NOT DRIVE ANYTHING YOU CANNOT AFFORD TO LOSE. |

I pretty much make it personal policy to just pop that one.
But then i also pop any fixed installation not controlled by blueberries. put a forge on a roof and fire on it from enfilade. should solve the problem. |
