Ps3 don't automatically show 1080p. U have to manually go into settings and change it if the game supports it but right now dust don't. |

SSD  Join the club yo. Did you actually do that?? i read a thread about upgrading PS3s with SSD's but i heard there could be problems with burn outs and other things, so was it worth the extra 50-100$ you spent? how hard was it to install?
Simple drop in to install i believe, the PS3 has no TRIM support so the burn out rate will be quicker. I wouldn't put an expensive SSD in there.
There is also a limit to the PS3 bus speed to what I have read, so you could get pretty similar results with an 10,000RPM drive I believe. |

Wtf lol BF3 only runs 720p. It show what a game runs on back of the game case. I was hoping dust would be 1080p but its not. Games like cod and NFL madden are. |

Spent 60$ for mine, its very easy to install just make sure to backup your saves on either PSN Cloud or on a usb stick.[/quote]
what's the difference? textures load up quicker? - or is there a material change to the gaming experience.
When I last looked at swapping out the HDD to a SDD articles were pretty lukewarm on the benefits. Couldn't be bothered in the end but... |

Burn outs?....
The first couple of years SSD's started taking off, yes... there were some issues with the TRIM and wear leveling algorithms and such, but these days the drives handle that properly even without the OS supporting it. |

lol, not even COD.
Its rendered at Sub-HD resolution (640P or something like that) and then upscaled to 1080P, and then they add some 4xAA to it. |

everything is faster loading, Dust is a download game, the larger cache and almost instant read times means everything is better

Just read a review of an SSD and it pointed out that the drive was only marginally better than a much cheaper RMS device for sequential reads / writes but it was much better for random reads / writes. Does anyone know, or could someone from CCP comment, on whether DUST 514 does much in the way of random reads / writes after it gets up and running? |
