Ya, I figured it was tanks that you lost, but look at it this way your helping to test the game and now we know the game will disco a tank driver as easily as it does an infantry guy. I would run my DS but they are useless on the field as is so no point to try to gamble with it to a disco.

If the "ship" wasn't lost, why do I still lose ISK? I can afford to, but the test just highlighted again that it is unnecessarily frustrating to automatically lose my assets when the situation doesn't even warrant it. If a tank costs a dollar and I lose it to a disconnect with 10s left at full health in a match, don't you think "don't use what you can't afford to lose" is going to ** off the customer? That is artificially making it "hardcore".

More often than not, people weren't using stupidly expensive suits/vehicles since... ya know... it's a stress test. Who's good and who's just rich really became evident for a little while today. Either way, if you can't afford to lose a tank, perhaps you ought to call in a different one?

I'm not saying for the sake of this testing event he should be re-imbursed, but by release they need a system where you don't lose assets that weren't ACTUALLY destroyed when disconnected, and D/C needs to be radically reduced and almost always a user-end problem before launch. I think what the majority of the ignorant dumb-fucks in this room seem to be forgetting is that the point of a BETA is to lobby valid complaints, instead they try to meta-game every inconvenience to the 'Harsh reality of New Eden' like glitches and poor software engineering are an intended aspect of the game? That's real ignorance there. Until the game is running purely as intended, meaning losses are ALL due to actual literal in game mechanics, all complaints against points that are not part of the in-game mechanics are valid. Any ignorant ass-hole who rationalizes and criticizes someone for putting forward and lobbying a legitimate complaint on a BETA forum where your supposed to talk about these sorts of issues for a broken or glitched mechanic, doesn't honestly deserve the time of day as a BETA tester. My theory? A lot of you are butt hurt because the complaint comes from a player who has logged more hours, and has more SP to forward into super expensive tanks then you do, and you think broken game mechanics are the only way for you to get your one up... If you think that its sad that he's complaining in spite of being near the top of many of the boards, think about how much more sad it make you for complaining that he has no right to complain because of his relative success, and that the broken game mechanics HELP bring him down to your pathetic scrub level. Crap this sort of **** pisses me off... Good day.

There is a problem with the game, that you lose what you are using if you disconnect, and in the expensive cases, such as tanks, CCP should redeem the player for that when it happens, even in beta. It is hard enough to make ISK in DUST, if CCP want the expensive gear and items tested, they should either make it cheaper, ot help out when bugs ruin it.

It's only when the whole server crashes and everyone goes back to MQ that everything in the game is essentially undone. This instance, only Noc was kicked back to MQ, the rest of us in the game continued playing, I jumped from gunner seat to driver seat, kept the tank alive, he lost the tank. He's bringing to light that this is still a problem (and has been every build I think). If you bring out a vehicle and end up outside of the battle, it's gone. It doesn't matter whose team the tank ended up on or whether it survived the match, or even if you make it back into the same game and reclaim control of it, you lose it. It's a fundamental problem with how asset ownership is handled, and is something that needs to be changed FOR RELEASE. Nobody really cares that they lose beta isk. The problem comes for release isk and release aurum. People are genuinely going to be upset if this still happens after release, because they will potentially lose real world money to a technical failure that is not on their end, because the game is set up in a way to do that.
