Ever wondered what the 514 is?
Could it be 256 vs 256 mercs + 1 vs 1 Evetard in orbit?
In wich case we would have MAG numbers times two + two. |

My first thought when i heard about the game also. If they achieve it it will be a great marketing/selling point. Its what got me interested in the game. |

With all the "is this a mmofps" threads , myself and a lot of others want player counts to increase im thinking. In that thread i even mention that it was a major argument in the BF3 beta that EA didn't listen to and lost to a game that had 2 year old engine . |

They would absolutely have to create a separate game mode and map for the larger battles but it should be done. We are talking planetary conquests here. Huge number of planets to choose from.....
Hey, according to corporation management....we can have 1300 players in a corp....we should be able to deploy into a mode with huge numbers if we can fit.
If they need time...that's fine but 64v64 or higher should be on its way. Especially when PS4 comes out. |

Come Open launch CCP may find a lot of the tears directed at there only being 32 people in the field. That number is pretty low considering the time's we're in now. Especially if you want to call this an "mmo" |

Anyone have a better explanation for the 514 number? I haven't found any statement at all from CCP.
I think we probably can't expect this until PS4. We are only playing on a fraction of the maps, 1/16 I belive, there could be something to it. |

It's actually FIVE ONE FOUR and not Five hundred and fourteen.
There is some lore out there hinting at the meaning of 5 1 4.

Who ever dug it out , keep it going because this is a big concern in other forums. All you have to do is type in Google. Is Dust514 a MMOFPS and there is about 3 threads with this argument.
Also there is no excuse for lag in a 12 vs 12 game in 2013. To not want more players for fear of dieing is ludicrous at best. Dieing and MMOFPS go hand in hand, not dieing in a game ever is a RPG concept not a FPS.Either the stat crazy gear+Skill system is making player tracking a nightmare or they have no clue how to do it. Ive been in the beta 2 months shy of a half a year and we still dont spawn right in a game that is been developed since 2009.Please CCP turn on the coffee pot and put the midnight oil in the lamps because the MMOFPS side of this game is very behind. You probable nailed the RPG part in spades though i wouldnt be able to tell you because im not a RPG fan. |

Where did you see that ?
The only thing that has been confirmed is that the largest battles at launch will be 24 vs 24. Out of the mouth of David Reid last November.
But i tend to agree with everyone there. The more the merrier... Especially for corp battles ! |

The most I think we're going to see in the Beta is 32 vs 32, enough for the maps we have now. On full release we'll probably get 64 vs 64, if we're lucky 128 vs 128. Anything over that is a bit unrealistic. |
