personally i dont find them OP, i use them and at 1st thought they were absolute crap till i got more disciplined keepin ppl at my optimal range.

i dont get killed by laser users tbh, very rare...they do rip my shields but never get chance to really finish the kills since i understand how lasers work.

Dont think most realise the damage ramps up alot over time and when a laser is on u its best to break its fire on u and force them into cqc if u can

I'm pretty mean with a submachine gun, and if know i cant deal with the situation ill just run away...... sometimes i get caught though which kinda sucks. lol do you guys feel any shame in running away??? does it depend on how valuable the suit is??

The few people who use them as well as you definetly make me think they are op. But as long as everyone else doesn't use them yet, they are under the radar. It is amazing how fast I can be taken out by a laser from so far away no where to run, nowhere to hide just a sad hissing death

I started using laser rifles probably about a week after they became available and it took me about three matches to figure out what was up....... i gotta say, now that i know my weapon, its a TON more effective then what it used to be yup a hell of alot more fun to use than an AR tbh but an AR will always be my goto all purpose weapon like it should be im still using standard as well cant wait to get my adv tomorrow proto will hav to wait sadly as im split between tank and infantry skills atm :P

It's the only reasonable alternative to an assault rifle. Roll on scrambler rifle :D

Marston EV Doomheim 75	Posted - 2012.11.28 03:52:00 - [14] - Quote prototype just melts people....... the viziam is soo good that i can almost use it in close range (if there health is low enough) it melts people in medium and long ranges, and with sharpshooter 4 im killing people a mile away! too bad its 80k isk a gun though..... limits the amount of times i can die, and basically requires me to be in a sqaud if i want to feel "secure" using it.....

And they can strip the shields of a shield tank in at least 2.5 clips. 1 clip if it's an armor tank. The only thing that I'm wondering is if the overheat is working as intended? Because it's impossible to overheat the laser rifle with the advanced laser rifle.

Kill the 1st guy and keep shoting cause then the weapon has build up heat and the next target allmost insta died. Its a very good weapon iff you can keep your targets at a distance but when you get cought up close you are most off the time screwed up.

Please dont Chang a thing, except maybe, drop the price on the proto a little (way to expensive) and add some variants/more variety (needs variants badly, 3 rifles is not nearly enough). Oh and I love having to work for my cqc kills I'm getting to be a beast with the scrambler (got to love the burst variant and sidearms specialization)

Best killing streaks can be made not alone but anytime you have a couple of squadmates a little bit in front of you. Being a lone LR'r it is very easy for bogeys to focus avoiding your fire and possibly close up. But even in that situation LR can be used in area denial.

Armour damage from LRs seems too high. Well, from my experience, when i'm shooting a heavy with a LR, i'm maintaining a pretty good headshot. It's easier because you guys are big and slow. That probably fills the armor handicap gap.

I had to fit 10% damage mod to go against a AR guy. The fact a AR can take you out in 2 seconds You cant wait for the laser to ramp up power. The viziam is good but much too costly. You cant loose 3 of them per match.. a duvolle AR is 50k isk.. a Viz is about 80k isnt it... go figure. Given your painting a HEY IM OVER HERE line across the map with a laser beam your instantly a target.. sooo... lasers need a bit more power and some sort of help. Id rather the power be high at first and fade down as it gets hot. Technically a laser gun like that would function with more power at first. Heat sinks really are required for lasers.. heat build up is a major issue. Most highpower lasers without proper water cooling can only be on for about 10 seconds. But even energy is fresh and powerful at first.. then you drain the battery a bit after a few shots.
