Now I'm a big fan of the PvP Aspects of the game, and will likely not delve too deeply into PvE when null sec and sovereignty warfare go live, but I would like variety over the 'Rogue Drones Swarm mode' We're reportedly getting.
For example:
- Incursion Systems could have Sansha Abduction Forces (Cybrogs) on planets, trying to round up civillians for 'integration'. Your mission is to defend the civillians and get them to waiting evacuation ships, hold off Sansha forces from Drop Zones alongside NPC Militia, and make runs into the urban / suburban streets to look for survivors. A multiple objective mission that requires the completion of many smaller objectives across a wide area.
- Corporate invasion. One corporation hires you / your team to assault a rival corporation's facility to sabotage / steal / or otherwise undermine that corporation's efforts. This could involve an Insertion into the planet's atmosphere, assault on multiple sequebntial points (ie Security Checkpoints etc.) and an Extraction since you actually have to take something with you (Theft) or leave as little evidence of your attack as possible.
- Pirate Base Attack. Pirates have set up a base on a planet / moon and you have to remove them by any means nescesary. This could be simnply anhilating them (leaving the facility intact) or blowing the facility itself up (costly). Thius could be a multiple outcome mission with many ways to complete it with the hardest ways being the most rewarding, while the easiest ways may see you pissing off your employers more than the pirates.
- Garrison. Defence of a single facility from a hostile force (Corporate, Pirate, Drones, Sansha). Multiple points to defend, once captured by hostile forces the mission ends with only partial reward payout.
These are just a few of the ideas I've had, varying the objectives, hostiles, and the methods used for missions beyond the 'Swarm Mode' that games like Warhammer 40K: Space Marine made very well, but after a few times through got a little boring.
Variety is the spice of life, and having multiple types of enemies, multiple scenarios, as well as multiple terrain / atrmosphere / physics types means that the PvE aspects will have a greater longevity.
In conclusion:
I would also like to see a PvE Campaign 'Single Player' and 'Co-Op' for teaching the game to those who want to use it.
This would include a progressive series of missions (seamless if possible) that builds the basic knowledge skills required for particular missions, (ie. fitting modules to suits to perform different functions, or improve capacity to perform said tasks.) As well as (in the Co-Op Mode) working as a team to achieve goals only 2 or more people can accomplish.

I also want this for PVE: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=43440&find=unread
KAGEHOSHI Horned Wolf wrote: PVE AGAINST NATIVE LIFE: I know we are getting PVE against rogue drones, but there is another option for PVE missions as well. We know there is life in New Eden, and fighting native life on planets would make for great PVE. Extraterrestrial encounters with life is one of the greatest and most exciting aspects in the genre of space scifi. I am not asking for little green men, humanoids, or anything with human-like intelligence, but just some animals adapted to their environments. Imagine fighting insect-like animals the size of of an elephant, or creatures similar to dinosaurs. [HOW]: Option 1: You're hired to secure a location, or objective on a planet that happens to have life evolved on it. The mission site is full of hostile and predatory wildlife that you must fend off until the mission is complete. This could be problematic since our advanced weapons could probably 1-shot kill any animal, but extremely large dinosaur sized animals could justify taking more than 1 shot to kill, and smaller predators can be really fast and utilize cover in grass to evade being hit at all. Option 2: When the "Gladiator Arena" E-sports modes comes to Dust 514, one of such modes could involve fighting vicious predatory animals in a colosseum much like gladiators of Rome fought lions for the entertainment of the masses. Other deathmatch style PVP battles can have some animals thrown into the mix. These animals can be genetically augmented to justify needing more than 1 shot to kill, or weapons we can use could be limited, and maybe we should be fighting without the protection of a dropsuit. [WHY]: It would add even more variety to the game, and make the game generally feel more "complete" inb4 no other life forms on EVE LifeLifeLifeLifeLifeLifeLifeLifeLifeI posted this idea before a long time ago in some big list thread, but it never got its own dedicated request thread.

I love the incursion game mode. I don't get why games don't have npcs any more they can easily add to the immersion. Also I really like the idea of a training mission series. Before you join a corp and all. Something like the beginning missions in eve..
Requirements.. Not mandatory. At the beginning of creating a Merc you pick an NPC corp of your faction. Since your a new recruit they have to train you. By the end of it I imagine you would have I nice collection of various militia items.
the important part is that it is more than just training. Make it a little more dramatic like a distress call is picked up by a colony attacked by Drones. Intro to pve. the training series should be a nice sized length of missions. |

I would love the option for some Eve missions to have hidden branches you can access if you have a dust squad ready to deploy in a station or something. Dust merc deploys, fights through drones or NPC soldiers, destroys some objective, Eve player gets access to a hidden acceleration gate.
Bonus: While the dust mercs are fighting off the standard waves of enemies to destroy the objective, there are harmless little transports moving towards the structure on the Eve side that when not dealt with by the Eve player, causes the Dust mercs lives to be more difficult by adding additional waves for them to deal with. |

A solo training campaign would be great for new players. You could give them a chance to try out different weapons during training, depending upon the scenario, so they can get a feel for what they want to spec into. Like you're inside a building and enemies are inbound, the player gets thrown into a heavy suit with an HMG to hold a room or something. At the end of training, have them get a single level where they get to experience full proto gear. Like their faction was able to disable and hack an elite clone and they want you to use it to sabotage the enemy base. Let them get the feeling of being near godlike so they have a future to look forward to. |

That is exactly what I want to see happen. everyone calls to make a militia weapon but if you experienced near most weapons in training you don't need to. Gives people a clue as to what to expect and what they may like |

On account of it's a doble thread? (Didn;t find one dealing with these scenarios) or that I posted multiple types of PvE in the thread.... The thread is singular in purpose... Get more PvE Choice.
The above were only posted as examples. |

Every idea that can make PVE more than just a "defeat waves of drones" thing is good imo. |
