I don't know what you are seeing as vehicle guy but about 1 out of 3 of my AV grenades bounce of or dont detonate. I haven't figured out if its lag or frame rate but I have died a lot when I watched my AV grenade bounce off hood of LAV coming right at me.
Also am not aware of any homing function on them. They seem to throw like other grenades. I have watched them drop next to tanks that were moving when i threw short or behind them. Not once did it look like they changed direction towards the tank. |

They are magnetic. U have to throw them within like 5 meters of a vehicle to activate the magnetic function though. Also they don't really need a nerf they are good against lavs and thts about it unless they got buffed while I've been gone. |

Im not driving an LAV I am driving a HAV's that withstands Shots from forge cannons, AV grenades are way to overpowered, multiple people have complained how HAV's are paper, even 4 mil fits get blown to bits by AV Grenades, specially how people can spam them sitting ontop of a nanohive. Now tell me how that isnt op? |

AV nades are fine. Most bounce off vehicles anyways. It takes 2 or 3 to kill a militia LAV which is fine. |

As someone who hasn't yet gotten to use these, what exactly makes them so good? Reading their stats in the market it looks like they only do ~170-200 damage, and last I checked vehicles have much much more than that. So if someone threw all 3 of their grenades, and all 3 hit, you'd still have plenty of life left on your vehicle, assuming you're not using the MLAV. Is there some kind of secret damage modifier built into these that isn't shown on the stats page, or are you just parking next to a heavy that is standing on a supply point and having a chat with him? |

I believe that is their damage against infantry. Their damage against vehicles is hidden, and much higher. |

I think they're fine as is, although there is an interesting bug. Sometimes when someone tries to run over me with a LAV I'll chuck an AV grenade and, when the driver hops out to finish the job, it homes in on his head instead of vehicle. I've noticed that there is a delay of about half a second before a player's chevron switches to/from the vehicle, so maybe the game still considers them a vehicle for that half-second even though they have left the driver's seat. |

Yep... and it's stupid. They only blow near vehicles anyway....
AV nades are fine. And consider that they're homing only in a specific radius. It's WAAAAAAY better than when you were able to drop AV minefield all over the place... |

really? last time i checked my AV grenades barely hurt a HAV...especially since most of the HAV's are shield tanks....if your running an armor tanks then yes...your f***ed....other than that they are fine...i've seen LAV's that take all three of my basic AV grenades before they blow up.
but i have a solution...you ready?

I have a 200k ISK fitting for my Sica that can tank its way through enough AV grenades to fire a couple of failed shots from my main Missile Turret because Large Missile Turrets are horrifically over-nerfed, switch into a gunner's seat, then fire the three shots I needed to get rid of the grenadier and his Nanohive.
Pretty sure AV grenades are fine.

If you have ANYTHING except a Large Missile Turret to shoot with, you can reasonably expect to kill the AV guy in less time than it takes to throw 2 AV Grenades. On my Missile Tank, if I have a gunner, I rely on them, or I run. If I don't, I jump into the top gunner seat and kill the guy shooting me. |

People can only carry 3 tops. Unless they are standing on a nanohive you have no room to complain, and if you don't GTFO when they throw the first one, it's your own fault for standing around like an idiot. Tank is support, not a rolling main force. They may be extra stout in real life, but this is a game and has to be balanced. Also, people have to sacrifice anti infantry 'nades for them which puts them at a disadvantage to every player with locust or flux grenades on the field. They have to be powerful to make up for that.
And just so you know, I've rolled with every vehicle in the game this build, and tanks are just fine as they are right now and so are AV 'nades. |

playing it, I dont buy things cause
1) Im poor, if CCP wants to pay me to test their things in the AUR spectrum through reiembursment than fine, other than that no.
2) I find AUR weapons to be cheap and If I just bought my way through the game than I wouldnt be playing it correctly and get the full experience. |

You know what the solution here is? Don't drive a tank into a pack of infantry sporting AV grenades. They need a way to kill you and I think sticky grenades are fine, especially considering how many it takes. If you get close enough to an enemy for the grenades to actually work I hate to say it, but it's your own damned fault. Hit reverse.
'Sides, you have a massive long range cannon, why are you that close to start with? |

Cause you need to support your team, maybe if I got warned that someone was throwing an AV grenade and the logo just didnt look like any old other grenade, than maybe I would back up and move but oh wait I cant cause im getting pounded with AV grenades that blow up with such a force that it impedes my movement, also im using a blaster, not a Railgun cannon, sorry but I dont run shield tanks, I run the armor tanks cause they need more support and feedback than shields, cause all I hear are people talking about shields and this that and the other thing related to shields and I test armor cause no one else does, I saw a shield tank today lose its shields, Booom was gone in three seconds, only had 989 hp under that armor.
Once your shield is gone, your gone, run an armor tank and put some shield boosters on it but more armor and you will be golden.

1: They do give you the AUR back at the end of the beta. So you get the money back again technically. You're telling me you're not even willing to sink a penny into this but then expect CPP to balance on your demands? Man~
2: How is AUR cheap? You just get items one tier sooner or with a different look. They even have the fitting requirements from the equivalent weapon from the tier above. It's hardly breaking the game, nor are you "buying your way through" the game. You get a fancy gun\armour a few hours earlier. Is all. |

also like I said, cant hit reverse fast enough if I have explosions rocking my tank and impeding movement. Like the actually do to everything cause nothing seems to be stable in this game at all. |

If your team is asking you to risk a high power, high value asset like a HAV in a close-in fight I suggest you find a team that understands the economics of EVE Warfare that will no doubt bleed into Dust and better yet, one that knows tactics in general. Tanks are not a close in weapon, and if you use it like one it _WILL_ die. Tanks are about devastating firepower and protection, they are not battering rams. Keep yourself alive to kill other tanks, not to farm kills on infantry.
And good on your for testing something new, I wish more people would do that in the beta! However A good tanker always stays as far away from infantry as possible while still being able to bring his guns to bear, if he can't he supports the advance until his infantry can break through.
Ever play WW2 Online? Took a tank into a town in that game and it was dead in about 5 seconds. You just don't do it. |

When I run a tank it's either a Soma with a large blaster turret for infantry support or a Sica with a large railgun for anti tank. I have no problems with AV grenades in either tank as I stay out of their range(you can be pretty devastating with either tank when you use the zoom on it - R3 to switch views then L1 to zoom if you weren't aware).
The large blaster turret has very good range against infantry(and I don't have any points put into any of the vehicle skills - I do have mechanics and shields maxed though). |
