I'd like the minimum height for the dampener to be lowered. It would improve overall mobility in all suits. Take the Ashland map for example. 2/3 of the objectives are on elevated platforms with only 1 or 2 staircases (or choke points of doom) to access or regress from. If you jump off the platform in lieu of taking the stairs you take fall damage. To me the height of these platforms when compared to the fall damage taken is ridiculous.
I have taken fall damage from dropping what was probably no more than 8 or 10 feet, (3 metres for you metric types). I can drop 10 feet in real life without injuring myself. So to me either the gravity on these planets is extreme or all players in the NBA take fall damage after a slam dunk.
While I don't think the dampener height should be lowered to the point of using for jumping off small buildings, I do think it should be lowered so that you can jump off of tall buildings. As of now you can only really use while exiting the MCC. (Plus it's really fun to use and you feel cool when you do it.) Also, fall damage is a tad extreme at the moment. If it takes 8 rounds from an AR to reduce my shields to half, a fall of 3 or 4 metres should have no where near the same effect. |

I really love when you're jumping on a relatively steep hill, and land HIGHER than the point you jump from, and the game somehow decides that was a dangerous height and breaks your shields.

Fall damage is excessive, and I agree the height needed for inertia dampeners should be reduced. |

Sarcasm? Are you implying that I'm placing importance to this trivial small thing when there are lots of other more important things that needs to be nerfed/readjusted? I have posted on many threads regarding balance issues with the infantry weapons in this build, especially with the assault rifle, and also with swarms vs dropships, and vehicles in general. Just because there are more important things to readjust does not mean that smaller things have to be ignored.
If not sarcasm then ignore above statement. |

I consider 'taking' fall dmg as counter redlined MCC.
You can survive jump without Inertia Dampener from MCC at almost all maps. Use heavy dropsuit. Trade of you lost half of yours HP, but you will be ready to shoot instantly to surprised guys and you can manage to save a lot of yours blueberriers :)
So.. this fall dmg is ok for now. You can run and jump... but i can LAND

The dampener isn't some kind of 'jump off a building' thing, it's more like a parachute.
No to this, jumping down from structures and mountains is supposed to be costly. |

I agree that falling damage is too high and the height requirement to use inertia dampener is also too high. |

lowering the height for the inertia dampener and your recovery time would be nice, who cares if people can now fall off of buildings and now save themselves from being damages so say you snipe them mid jump and there jumping down, you wont get a kill, oh well :V |

I should always have the option to activate inertia dampeners (probably with a cooldown). It comes standard in suits and I have to push a button to activate it in the first place. If I have enough time to jump off something and press a button before I land, then the dampener should be available.
Oh, and the dampener should slow decent speed gradually or something. I wait to hit it until just before the ground so I'm not a giant blue comet across the sky. But that's probably asking for too much =p. |

Unless the inertia dampener is powered by the build-up of kinetic energy and requires you to be falling at a certain minimum speed before it can activate...

Its worse now it seems. There NO REASON for this. It doesn't add to gameplay, it just annoys people. It doesn't add to realism, we're wearing powerful shielded scifi armor that can take railgun fire, burning plasma, etc; its thousands of years from now. We have dampeners. |

oops i made a thread similar to this which should be deleted now. About the inertia dampening activating faster, I think there should be a module for that. Also I agree fall damage is too much. Nothing worse than having like 40 health left and jumping away to flee only to fall at a height I could land faceplant on irl and not die. |
