But i am not sure if its needed, need your opinions on this. Also, is it better to be WEB Based or APP Like (i.e. similar to EFT). I can use any programming language like Java (EE/SE) / .NET(C#) / PHP or any other supportive like XML, TSQL and stuff, so app/tool could be platform independent. Also i can do a Character planner, everything is similar to current EFT and/or EVEMON. General questions: Is Community need this? If so, il begin my journey :) Thanks in advance.

As for the method the way I see it there are pros and cons to each. An app based approach needs no hosting or maintenance once distributed but is more difficult to keep updated and accurate, while a web based fitting tool can be just some php and an sql database easy to update but a real pain should it ever need to migrate host.

Going for the iPhone / Droid would be highly advantageous to me as I would love to have an iPhone app for DUST. The heads-up I will give you though is that they are coming out with an official app for the Vita. The biggest thing I see that you can change and modify your fittings and upload them to the game (or at least, that's what I have heard). If you could make one that communicates with DUST to allow us to upload fittings on the go, that would be awesome.

Still I would be interested in a DUST tool which would do what you described above. +1 for you :)

CCP has a feature in backhand called CREST (Carbon REST) - it allows read and write access via API, so you can adjust something ingame without beeing online. The Fitting-management in DUST would be the best opportunity to introduce such an API, so you can manage your fittings on PC/mobile/webapp wherever you are! afaik: the plan for first use of CREST was for the standings and/or contacts in EVE. please CCP make it possible!

I think this would be a better idea, considering this is a console FPS so we can't Alt-Tab to check your fitting tool. Also i can mess about with my fittings on the train!!.

They are hot though....). But seriously this would be an awesome tool to use(of course you will only able to release it post NDA). I would definitely use it, especially if I could use it on an iPhone. Also as an employer, make this tool anyway and put it on your resume. I would use this as a plus in hiring.
