Yeah because CCP makes apps like this. seen it in a dev log. sorry no link but why cant they make something like that.your post is confusing. I own a vita and think it would be neat.
You can see some detail here as well about the Vita companion app. http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/08/20/dust-514-vita-app-details-revealed
However, I would like to see a 3rd party tool where I can make any fit (requiring any skills that I currently don't have including PG/CPU boosting skills, such as all skills maxed out) and see the effective HP and damage output etc. with the skills I do have and a list of skills I don't have after entering the ones I have manually if need be. And maybe an option to see if it was 100% passive skill point base and then enter your daily or weekly average gain in active skill points (manually enter it) so you can see about how long it would take to get into that fit. Also being able to share those fits easily with other people would be nice. More or less a combination of EveHQ's Skill planner/Fitting tool or combination of EFT and EveMon like tool. It would have to be easy to update by the developer even after Dust 514's release out of Beta, so its easy to stay current. I would pay ISK for that kind of tool. |

Any news on this yet? Would be awesome to play with fitting ideas without training the skills and spending the money, and even more so not having to be at the ps3 |

If this project has been dropped, I am hoping to make something similar.
If it hasn't, the data I'm collecting can be used for it. I'll be keeping an updated list in this thread.
If anyone else wants to use the data I'm collecting, once I've got it all in there, to make their own fitting tool, they're welcome to. |

Does this fit your needs or close enough? |

First Google result for Dust Fitting Tool takes you to a locked thread that links here. Second result takes you directly to this thread.

I say go for it. It would be handy to carry a planner of sorts in my back pocket in the form of an Andriod App. Plus it'll give me something to distract myself with when I'm not playing DUST. Since I don't play DUST often enough, it would be a welcome relief to have an app that can give me my DUST fix ... even if it's only in the form of a character planner/fitting planner.
Fun fact - The more diverse you go, the more interested parties you'll draw in.
Suggestion - If it hasn't been said before, there should be an option to save multiple files so as to allow for larger planning schemes. Like if I could save the skill progression for 2 characters and have 5 different fits for each of them to work towards then I'll have every single one of my goals set until I nail them all.
Also don't forget vehicle fits. |

Friend at work wrote an android app for WoW ... spent a lot of time and effort on it and it became very popular. About 6 months later he got a cease and desist order for copyright infringement.
I assume ccp might well look upon this the same way |

I assume ccp might well look upon this the same way Yep. Just like all the cease and desist orders that CCP have given to the people who made all the various EVE Fitting Tools using the CCP-developed API system.
Pretty sure when CREST is released, they'll be making is just as public and open-source as the current systems people have free access to.
There are various fan-made EVE tools for just about every platform it's practical to run such a tool on (and probably a few systems that AREN'T practical). CCP don't stop them, they ENCOURAGE them. And they've previously posted saying "great work" in a few threads where players have created DUST Fitting Tool equivalents using spreadsheets. |

Application currently in development for PC and iOS (two different apps), but development is kinda slow, due to addiction to dust. Trying to stop play playing & get coding :) |

I would much prefer a third-party-program like how EFT is. I prefer having an easy-to-use interface, with a series of drop-down menus and expandable item lists, as well as the skill tree (editable to fit your characters skills)
thanks! :) Very much appreciated if you could pull this off! |

Curren progress is: - Java 7SE based, Cross-Platform - UI (tried to copy Gripen's EFT, props to him) - Market browsing - Item selection, properties - Character creator, skill browsing
Whats left till first release: - Formulas, calculations - Updater feature - Shared "DB" feature
Currently ETA is around 2 weeks or so. Project codename is "Warbarge" and a stub site at warbarge.com |

For reference, CCP cutting people off from making EFT and DFT programs is about as intelligent as this:

90% of data used in Warbarge is user-generated and not based on CCP will to share it. Copyrights are ofcourse on CCP side, but i doubt there will be a problem, since i dont modify any data. System used in Warbarge is more like P2P :) |

I have been wanting a app for android so I can play about with the fittings as I use most of my child free time at home sorting out my dropsuits. Would be great to play around with them outside the house. Web based tool would be great to tho. Any update for us? |

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but you should hook up with Hydroslav over in the Rookie forums. He has a spreadsheet fitting tool that's pretty up-to-date. Mayhaps you could share info? |
