Dropship = transport ship
Eazy fixes to it tbh
1. Take away all guns 2. Give it more tank 3. Mobile CRU cannot be removed at all 4. Pilot gets points for ppl spawning in, also i feel the transport ship should replenish armor and ammo so pilot gets more pts 5. Eject button so ppl dont hide in it all the damn time
As it is now its invincible to swarms, hitting it with a forge gun is damn near impossible to do and even hitting it with a tank aint easy and all it does is slowboat around the map in a big circle and shoot things
Techincally its OP when compared to Tanks 2 builds ago, at least with the tanks then they could have been taken out by all of the above no problem it just required teamwork
Dropships now you can have the whole team being AV with swarms and forges and you wont bring it down but yet a tank can be solo'd
Make dropships proper transport ships since we are going to have fighters it seems according to the icon screen |

2-3 decent forges can pin dropships with no problems. It just requires teamwork and decent aim. |

I'd be down for this, providing I get a massive CPU/PG boost aswell as raised base Shield/Armor. You want us without defenses? We better take a lot longer to kill off. |

Militia dropships I can one shot with a tier 2 forge gun. A well setup dropship will take 60% damage to the shields and blast off at high speed to repair and come back with friends.
Even the large rail turrets seem to do no more than 20% shield damage to a decent dropship.
When the only weapons that are effective against dropships only work against the absolute cheapest there is a problem. A really stupid pilot might lose a good one, but thats hardly a reliable method of balancing.
P.S. by 'pin' I assume you mean to keep it out of combat, rather than destroying it. While your 3 forge gunners are keeping potentially 1 person, tied down, the other 2 enemies are massacring your ground forces as you are now 2 short in comparison.
I strongly dislike the concept of 'nerf everything that can kill me', but dropships are clearly massively unbalanced at present. |

Dropship can fly around and ppl can jump out and inertia damp onto whatever
Its not like it has to land because ppl jumping out dont have a parachute and if its picking ppl up you dont land it in a hot zone where you will get raped by a tank you do it away from the hot zone or behind cover |

Wouldn't mind some blasters for troop suppression. I personally prefer landing close to make sure my passengers get close to the objective. Ever tried bailing out of a dropship whilst it's going full speed? you end up miles away from the objective. Then you also have to think about picking troops up when they're heavily engaged. Smart players would call in their dropship when they see they're outnumbered, rather than lose their prototype gear they'll call us in, would be pretty useful to go in close, begin firing whilst the squad jumps in then fly off. Blasters are ineffective at long ranges and quite easy to dodge, but up close they make great distractions |

That will never happen. Having a major military asset such as a close support vehicle completely unarmed is patently absurd. I agree on the basic problems but completely removing all weapons means they may as well be NPC. Certainly it will be almost impossible to find pilots for them.
Certainly they are the current build equal of the insanely overpowered HAV's of 2 builds ago, but removing all weapons is no fix, imo.

They need guns to help clear the drop/pickup zone and to support troops after they're on the ground.
The only problem really is that missile turrets are overpowered vs infantry. |

If not remove all guns....then simple machine-like weapons only instead of "nano-nukes" on the ground......that has direct and splash damage. I don't remember the name of the turret that's equipped on the basic/free lav but that should be all. Maybe you can upgrade the damage hp to it but still make the guy in the turret have to really aim.
You can close your eyes and wipe out the field by just pressing R1 with those blasters |

They are not equal with HAVs from 2 builds ago, they are well above it because with the current AV mechanics we have they cannot bring down a dropship, even if half the team is AV it wont matter they wont bring it down
HAVs are open to all AV weapons, 2 builds ago it did require teamwork from a squad to take it down and it did work but they cried it required too much teamwork now it requires 1 guy with an AV forge gun fit of less than 20k ISK and 200k SP to solo a Gunlogi with 700k ISK price tag and at least 3mil SP if its proper fit
If you take away guns from the dropship its stops ppl camping in it on the turret all game and also makes the dropship do it job so the pilot doesnt have to worry about getting the gunners on all the kills

dropships are actually easy to shoot down once you figure out how far in front to aim the forge gun. 90% of the time 2 shots and its down. if i need a third then thats usually when the dropship flies off the map to rep, allowing troops to move anyways so mission accomplished. this also makes the dropship realize he cant just slow boat/hover and actually has to speed across the map |

At the end of the day I think player driven drop ships don't fit into dust with out being orbital death platforms or just halo jumping spawn points. This thinking comes from never seeing a transport work in a fps back to black hawks in desert combat, chinhooks of bf Vietnam , tribes 2, and planet side 1. The only game I have seen was mag that had helicopter transports work some what. Npc driven in spawn points that hover to the ground and resupply. If you correct zipper flaws of one location it would work awesome in my opinion. The maps in dust don't really reflect a player driven pick up and land drop ship. I don't think each planet will be one game world where players have to go miles. A match only last 15 mins right now. I'm typing this on my iPod if there are errors. |

I'd like to see a way for dropships to slow down if they enable turrets, but then have to disable turrets if they want to move quickly again. |

i think drop ships should just have one turret that is under the ship with a 360 degree veiw and it retracts when u land so it can only be used while its in flight |
