The health and shield meters drop slowly. They sort of have a rolling effect, where, when the person is damaged it doesn't automatically jump down to the new health or shield strength. It goes in waves for every hit. It seems to happen with every shot that connects. My point is I think that health should display instantaneously instead of slowly going down. On more than one occasion I thought I had just enough health/shield to take one more hit, but in actuality the meter was still going down.
Sorry if this isn't clear. I don't know how to describe it very well. |

It does go down instantaneously. Taking 20 damage per hit with a 400hp health bar it does seem to slowly drip down. It may take some getting used too, never really thought about it myself. |

I don't think so. I noticed it a while ago and have been keeping my eye on it. It feels very unreactive. |

The health bars do not respond immediately. If you take heavy damage very quickly you'll notice the shields and armor bars do not update smoothly.
Currently it seems like the rate that the white portions deplete is capped while you can actually take damage faster than that. This is mostly a problem with rapidly firing weapons doing heavy damage. Sniper rifles and forge guns seem to update nearly instantaneously but a quick burst of AR to the head will leave you thinking you are taking damage at a decent rate while in fact the health bars are still spooling down to perhaps half armor.
Can be very frustrating and seems to only really be noticeable against the high ROF weapons. |

Your attacker can see the health instantaneously go down, so why is it like this in the HUD? This is also an issue. |

I came to post this. I've been dead on the ground from AR fire while my health is still dropping. There doesn't seem to be a difference in the speed the health drops between different AR types, So it's hard to tell if you are being hit by something you need to get out of the way of NOW or if you can stand to take a few more hits. |

Actually i don't see a problem with "a bit unreactive refresh of the healthbar", it might keep those around me from going into hiding just long enough for me to finish them off (I am using a militia AR), whereas my first reaction to a hit indicator is to jump into hiding. Works for me. Or in other words: If you keep standing in broad daylight while getting shot, then you are obviously doing something wrong. |

That doesn't make sense. Sometimes, you act differently based on how much health/shields you have. Knowing what they actually are at the moment allows you to make better split decisions. For example, if I knew that my shields were at half strength while being fired upon, I'd still try to save my comrade if he was down; but if I had a quarter shields, I'd go hide to recover. Split decisions man. I've been dead on my feet more than once because I thought I still had my shields. |

If I have full shields, full armor and I face off vs a guy whom's damaged, my reaction is to take the heat and finish him off. The amount of damage I am taking needs to be reliable. At no point should I be dead on the ground when I still show remaining health. |

I was about to make a post on this myself. The thing needs to go down the instant it gets shot. For a Sniper shot, it seems to have that down, but I've had many situations where I'm more than 60% shields according to the HUD under fire from an AR, and dead according to my newly failing vision. |

I have noticed this on both sides, I thought the delay when firing till health drops was travel time. Since they said they are hit scan it most have been lag or the slow reaction to rapid fire. The dying while showing armour still can't be lag since it is reacting to the death already. |

I never have this issue. Could it be a server update issue with your PS3? |

Nope my reactions don't really differ. If i am getting shot at (meaning if i am getting hit) i know that i won't be able to revive my teammate or revive him into a hail of bullets which will most probably kill him again instantaneously, so hiding is the best option. Regarding the "But i want to shoot those who shoot me" playstyle: I prefer the "hide and run from cover to cover" playstyle and try to choose only fights i know i can win (or know that someone will take revenge for me - Charging Heavies and stuff).

The point isn't whether or not the meter is conducive to your play style, it's the fact that it is not always accurate when you need it to be. |

After a firefight, quick glance at health meter, almost full armour, but shields gone. I'm fine.
Walk around the corner, get one-shotted by enemy SMG guy because, actually, I only have about 2% armour and my healthbar just hadn't finished dropping that far when I looked. |

It's shouldn't be lag because the kill screen comes on before the meter depletes. |

Those bars drop pretty quickly. I must have been a split second after the fire fight.
Consider this... I had the luck of head shotting a guy with an SMG once. Nice focused burst killed him in a moment and he had full shields and armor. Perhaps his first few shots were across your head? |
