40 kills seems to be the new "100 kill" mark......which then makes 14 kills the new grim reaper and 12 deaths the new purple heart lol. |

Ohh, ok....this is my first build. And I haven't seen anything higher than a 45. And that was all on the ground.
In this build, I haven't seen too many 40s and if I did they were all dropship kills |

Well that's exactly my point....you're in a tank.
But in MAG, 100 kills wasn't rarely seen. Players were getting them almost every game. Its the 140 kill games and higher that was noticeable. If you had 150 kills in MAG, you'd get the same reaction if you saw someone get 100 in Dust. Because kill counts are relatively low in dust. If you get 30 kills, that's a decent game. Not to mention, noone dies 30 times in dust. But if you die, let's say 15 times, you can consider that a bad game. |

MAG had 128 players with infinite lives. DUST has 150 lives for each side. Of course 100+ games are rare, it means 31/32 players are terribad, and the 1 guy going 100 is amazing. |

for what it's worth, the people saying they've seen 100+ kill games in dust are probably referring to a couple builds ago when the attackers could use a disposable militia dropship to get up to a rooftop, call in a marauder onto that rooftop, and spawncamp the defenders over the red line.
this was also before they randomized the spawns, so if their team held the objectives, the ENTIRE enemy team had no choice but to spawn on exactly 1 square foot of real estate.
so they'd literally just sit there and pummel that one spot with a large missile turret from the skies, instakilling just about everything... oh and this was before they nerfed the missile turrets too. and the marauders had a 1.5X multiplier for all turrets...
it was just about the ******-est thing i've ever seen. i had 1 300k skillpoint game just sitting in the secondary seat and racking up assists... not even shooting because, why bother at that point? |

Right....and mostly, when someone hits 40 (that I've seen in this build) is because they're up in the dropship smoking everything that moves on the ground. Anyone that just picked up the game can get 40 kills from a dropship turret. |

Why would I want to do that?

yea when all the good ppl left and the game was left to the diehards/fanboys who didnt move on. 100 kills was rarely seen in MAG prime with alot of good ppl and clans playin on each faction
checked back MAG forums a few months ago and ppl who couldnt even get grims consistently back then were gettin 100 kill games easy.... |

I have seen people with 30 deaths in old builds. Highest I ever had was around 21, not bad game, just result of killing hav by jumping on it with militia suit throwing grenades and firing smg into turret. This no longer works, but in e3 I could kill a few tanks and get 20 deaths and 12 kills plus a few hav. Not a bad game but looks like it by kill/death since hav kills don't show up. |

Well, it's proportion:
35/100 = x/40 for grim reaper 30/100 = x/40 for purple heart |

Hehehe...this. Kills mean nothing anymore, it's all WP, I could give less of a **** if you got 150 kills and depleted the enemy's reserves all by yourself, if I got more WP than you by playing logistics and playing the objectives, then I am better than you. |

Kill-counts in MAG and Dust aren't comparable.
In MAG, a great domination player could consistently put up 100 kill games regardless of the map/PMC he was playing on. You're ability to put up high kill-counts was based mostly on skill. The difficulty level of putting up a 100 kill game, no matter how bad your team or the enemy team was, didn't fluctuate a lot, because the sheer number of players in a way balanced out the good players/exploit users with the randoms and kept the general skill level the same...
In Dust, a great player can go 15-1 or 80-3. You can't reliable expect a good player to put up a high kill-count because of how unpredictable this game is. The difficulty level of this game fluctuates considerably based on small factors, such as whether anyone is camping in vehicles, how many players are sniping from their spawn, or whether the enemy team has even 1 or 2 good players. Players can manipulate the scoreboard by exploiting vehicles and automatically going into easy-mode. A 100 kill game here isn't really a showcase of skill. It just means a decent player or a vehicle exploiter got lucky and was put up against a team of idiots who weren't sniping, weren't using vehicles, and kept respawning at the same spawn point over-and-over.
MAG was like 90% skill, 10% luck. Dust is like 30% skill, 70% luck... |

If by luck you mean lag, then MAG was 33% skill and 33% Lag,and 33% playing on SVER .
Dust seems to be about 25% skill,50% gear/equipment,25% Lag.

MAG kills had more to do with your ping to the server relative to your enemy, and whoever had the lower ping with the faster upload speed, and basic good aim, usually got the kill....
80% latency related, 15% luck, 5% skill....
But it still was the best FPS i played on console... |

Been back on for the last week, and even though I'm in Sweden and there's just one server in America, MAG with all these aforementioned problems is still 1000x better than whatever this is supposed to be. |

The same argument was said in MAG. Wps are important but kills mean something as well. Not to mention, you collect wps when you kill someone.
Thing is, you have to kill on your way to the objective to cap it. You can't rez or repair your way there.....or at least your entire team can't. If one depletes the clones all by himself, he's actually better lol. Cause he, literally, single-handedly won the game by himself. I know you were making a point by exxagerating but I had to do the same to make a different point. |
