Dust corps will split into to 2 groups the "Puppets" and the "Independents".I hearby coin the phrase on this date in this thread.
The Independent DUST corps will accept contracts with THE EVE player paying for the collateral to accomplish the task.Possible bonus amounts to buy gear and negotiating the acquisition of the district/s.Working in conjunction with EVE players in a mutually beneficial partnership and will not be dictated, ordered,or told how to tactically acquire the district/s. Independent DUST corps will strive to acquire there own district/s making monetary gains.
Puppet corps will be DUST corps that are dictated to .Told what to do and how to do it by an EVE player.Or pimp themselves out to be an EVE standing army or tool if you will.
THE HECATONCHIRES will be an INDEPENDENT DUST CORP. and will not do business with any EVE corp that has the attitude that we are merely some planet dwelling monkey that wants a "treat".
EDIT: Comments from this thread. https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=375849#post375849
#13 Posted: 2012.10.21 22:31 | Report Like 1 dust players will never be on even footing with EVE pilots. the point of eve players having pocket dust corps is the point.
one mission can fund a dust player for a while and hell one hour of mining in null sec can fund an dust merc with proto everything for a while.
all i have to say is deal with it, that's the point.
Separate thread #6 Posted: 2012.10.21 11:22 | Report Like 2 I'm not sure at what point it was implied that Dust mercs would be on an even footing with Eve pilots...... isnt the whole point that we are mercs,,, and in situations like that would be relying on the Eve pilots to fund the wars (since we are fighting for them)??
#1 Posted: 2012.10.06 15:40 | Report Like 9 Simply adding more controls to the Corporation would be cool, one I'd like to see is a "Tax". It's set by the CEO at a certain amount, 0%-90%.
Everytime a player earns money in a fight, the Corporation takes a slice of it. Some Corps will have 0% Tax, others might have a hefty one depending on who they are. Just an idea.
^this guy could already have an EVE alt and as CEO wants to tax you the DUST PLAYER.
This is what they think...........uh that doesnt jive with me.Im not your monkey. You can go into EVE GATE and read thread after thread that we will be there servants. This attitude is rampant and most rampant in CROSS play EVE players who have plans for you to get them what they want to there own ends.So they have formed corporations over here and will fund there wallets with there alts.If you want a paycheck and dont care then go be a PUPPET.
http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2011/06/interview-dust-514-on-ps3-will-help-hurt-eve-online-players-in-new-ways/
Fannar explained that soldiers could outright rule over an entire planet, cutting off another corporation's much-needed resources for survival. More important than this, though, is the crossover consequences. EVE players can attack planets from orbit, and Dust players can retaliate in real-time. Console gamers, in a move CCP suspects will be popular with the griefing-obsessed FPS crowd, can also destroy resources EVE players need to harvest. From here, a number of things could happen: those soldiers can move on with their paycheck, pave the way for a hiring EVE corporation to take the territory, or claim an area for themselves.
This is the end all be all of what I will eventually do.However long it takes.Ill take contracts sure. But if you think your gonna be running my corp....I dont think so.
Like I said earlier in this thread THE HECATONCHIRES will be either hated or respected but we wont bend at the knee.Nah not this guy.....Though not the intention of this thread if you read this and you have the same attitude as me then join my corp. If not get bent....PUPPET |

PS3 DUST players need a way to generate ISK on par with EVE players.Pre exsisting Eve corps having standing armies is fine. Buy your troops A.K.A. puppets. But QQing in the forums about weapon nerfs or objecting to the power of AUR DUST items that PS3 DUST stand alone corp can buy to combat yours because you have the monetary means to BUY players loyalty and essentially limitless gear is total bullshit. Why because its opposition to your status quo. You(EVE PLAYER) need us PS3 player to secure planet side assets. The logical conclusion would be to BUY them on a more permanent basis and any singular person objecting to or questioning why they cant be in a more leadership role would be cast aside and made example of .The direction of the CORP as a whole would be decided by the pre exsisting power structure of the former EVE only corp for which you already have a hierarchy. So this PS3 player is always just a pawn...to be moved about the board at your whim.................................... a puppet.
IF the weekend FPS PS3 player is fine with that so be it.I know whats been said in interviews and I have yet to see one of you try to educate the masses that this will be possible. An DUST corp controlling its own agenda.I know what EVE is about as do you.Im just letting them the PS3 player know that this game is way deeper than they think.....and you being scared are trying to paint me as a troll...lol

1:48 to 2:29 clearly stated that YOU the DUST player will have options.
2:59 to 3:44 This establishes the that the OPERATOR or "player"can have 2 accounts. One in EVE the other in DUST.YOU the PS3 player dont see that on the surface so while they are in these forums. You dont see that they have EVE characters. What the EVE players have done is make DUST corps in this game under the preexisting EVE corps name.Putting themselves as CEO at the beginning of this build.CODEX.Transferred money to there DUST alternate account (alt's) to recruit YOU .The PS3 DUST player. To essentially buy your loyalty. They did this at the first opportunity that they could.Although they were not supposed to as we in the DUST game the PS3 player do not have a ECONOMY where we can make money.EVE players can make money doing various things at there leisure.Within 30 minutes generate enough money that would take your DUST character AWHILE to do.Are items are cheap right now in the beta I ASSUME because we have no way to generate income except for fighting. The idea is that a DISTRICT will generate some form of income. So you the DUST MERC PS3 player can buy equipment, hire other mercenaries, buy installations.................do not let them pull the wool over your eyes.
4:21 4:44 So an EVE corp gets pissed at you and wants to hire out a MERC DUST CORP to take your DUST ONLY CORP DISTRICT they can with money OR send in there own EVE PC/DUST PS3 standing puppet army...so be it ....BUT you being a DUST corp can fire on there ships in orbit and defend your district with AUR DUST vehicles/weps/gear and a nifty INSTALLATION called a sky fire battery.Again they need you.Dont let them ride the forums and take the strength away from the AUR items. It maybe your last defense against corps with billions of ISK.
4:44 to 5:11
Im not inciting anarchy or that you cant work together with a EVE player. But you must realize that they have a vested interest in what you DO.Its about power.Politics.DUST is a massive LANDGRAB. FENNAR"We want the Playstation 3 players to enter that vibrant world, and experience it,and then starting to affect it and becoming a real member of that world"< Amen brother....... I say. That is a distinct advantage over anyone from the PS3 side trying to start up an EVE corp that does not have EVE friends or an EVE account. |

That ISK is in my character's wallet. I would have to stop playing entirely to avoid using it. Also, they aren't going to punish anyone for finding this loophole, because they confirmed last night that this is part of why they put us back together in the first place. At worst, we'll get an ISK reset to what it was the day before this all happened, and I have no issue with that. Stop being angry that you "missed the party" or something.

I didnt say one day turn against them.If you got to where you got with there help then you OWE them something.I never once said that INDEPENDENTS would or should be disloyal.I AM referring that someday a DUST corp will have the opportunity to have its OWN sovereignty and hire YOU to defend it from other corps fleets. A symbiotic relationship......not one of servitude.
I am simply educating the PS3 masses that this is a possibility.....and I do not like the direction of this game being CONSOLE DLC F2P extension of your POD pilot. Whereby you use the PS3 player to be your monkey.Ride these forums.Complaining in threads about anything in DUST that might be detrimental or pose any real challenge to you in EVE because you dont want to pay duel subscription or the equivalent there of ie.AUR/DUST WEPS/EQUIP etc.
This is not a conspiracy theory.......its what you guys have already done.Telling a PS3 user that you can buy all his skill books, equipment, gear because your a "GOOD GUY" is trying to influence players to your banner.THEREBY making any PS3 DUST corp without that ability...absolutely nullified. The PS3 startup corp is swallowed up before the game is even released.Or forced by DEFAULT TO JOIN YOURS. |

Dont try to back track now............You can continue to follow me around the forums and belittle everything I say. With your post but everyone coming to my threads will hear what you really had to say: Mobius Wyvern BetaMax Beta Likes received: 730 #201 Posted: 2012.10.21 15:25 | Report Like 1 Kengfa Akcay wrote: I say put everybody that spent their isk they transferred into the negatives! At worst, we'll get an ISK reset to what it was the day before this all happened, and I have no issue with that. Stop being angry that you "missed the party" or something. Your point being? put your tin foil hat on we have a conspiracy. I won't stop my post there. I don't care how many ppl you'll get in your dust corp. Your a planet viking with no space fleet to back you up. sure you gained a few billion isk contracts here and there but you still can't fund a full scale war.
Full scale wars take upwards to 500b isk and thats pretty much for the start. Don't kid yourself you need us the eve player. On the same hand we'll need you for a lot of situations. But if your unwilling to even work with a fleet then you won't make it far out of high sec.
I rephrase my previous statement. As it was unguided banter. I welcome the idea of dust corps being there own entity. But it will be hard to avoid the influence that comes from eve. We are playing in the same universe so player influence game to game will be mutual. The nature of New eden comes with push-pull consequences. Dust corps can recruit eve players so they can have there own fleet and be the army first.
I for one would be happy to be apart of a dust fleet. As my skills as a Fleet Commander would be welcomed. I would be honored to handle transactions for my dust corp. My orca and freighter will be gladly put to use. My skills as a trader not only get me isk but i can happily support my ground troops in a combined effort.
There has always been 2 distinct sides in eve. Mass and the thoughtful. Mass player bases like the HBC make huge gains and even bigger headaches. Tactical players like Rooks and kings Fight battles out numbered and hold there own. This translates to this game as such. Being the dust corp with eve players, and the eve players with an army. Both fund there efforts in different ways but in all it comes down to our skill on the ground, and the skill of our eve counter parts to keep ground armies at bay. |

Sorry but at this point I don't really see your corp going very far or even growing very big. You might someday hit 100 members...someday.
Any EVE player please tell this guy how many members in a corp is required to even compete in null sec...I only mention this because your endgame sounds like nullsec to me and I highly doubt a small DUST corp will have any chance of holding a spot in null. You might take an outpost or 2, but the next day they will be gone.
Go ahead and spit in the face of anyone that wants to try to help you with advice, see how long you last.
Oh and just so you know I too support Dust being able to influence EVE in the future the way they will DEFINETELY influence Dust for at least the first several months. |

Ok, you sure took the long way around making that your argument.
-The game is not doomed -We don't feel like puppets -We will have fun working WITH EVE corps -Dust WILL be an EVE pawn at first, but after CCP opens up null things will be able to change -If you don't want to be a pawn wait til Dust goes to null -Every game has players that aren't that good, or don't have the patience to get better gear and therefore say the game is horrible. You just shoot people. Any mechanic that would prevent an fps player from doing so would be detrimental to maintaining a player base. |

Not true, there will be other elements introduced to the game PvE, certain Role Playing aspects can be applied too.
This won't take away from the game because those who just want to play the FPS side can simply use the matchmaking system to find constant fights. So while I see your point that alot of FPS players won't care about EVE politics, that's not gonna be the only players in THIS game.
For instance the OP of this thread is really passionate about................well something. And it's not strictly FPS related. |

That is a distinct advantage over anyone from the PS3 side trying to start up an EVE corp that does not have EVE friends or an EVE account. So don't play a game that was designed with the interaction in mind from the start. Don't come on here thinking that the games are different, or Eve players wouldn't have a PS3. Basically, you yourself are wanting everyone to become PUPPETS to your way of thinking. As far as advantages go, once the game is live you will see that ISK is the least of anyones concern. It is easy to come by, even for a Dustbunny. There will even be PvE for you to pew pew pew pew pew pew at. So don't sit there and say that because someone has the backing of an Eve corp that they are at an advantage. If you don't like it, it is only 15 bucks a month and you can fund your own toon without joining up with the major corps. As you already said, it doesn't take any time to fund a Dustbunny. |

These things that you described are normal to eve players. standard recruitment is sign on bonus, some gear, books, and cake. But the cake is mythical. May i suggest out side the norm thinking? However I see that having 6 tanks deployed would be annoying. But that is the way the universe goes harsh and very one-sided. It can't always be fair.
I want to express to ppl this game is cranked to 11 as far as difficulty. Some would disagree with my previous statement but i digress. You can easily counter 6 tanks if you thought of the possibilities of the battle. An obvious strategic advantage is armored or aerial support. Your team should have been prepared for that outcome.
CCP this behavior is certainly working as intended. AT weapons more or less work as intended, players are skilling in vastly different ways. Now its time for strategists and tacticians to make way through the carnage. |

Wow... I hope Betamax gets contracted to take a few districts from your Corp post-launch, because I'll enjoy showing you the difference between being or using puppets, and working together. So when you wreck a kid double negative in your dropship. With turrets, shield all the moduels top gear, and knew recruits that you bought the turret skillbook for so they can ride shot gun while you get assist. That you just bought with ISK from your EVE alt and he never plays this game again because he thinks it sux and hell never get anywhere and tells his friends that this game sucks when he goes to school the next day.....who ever it may be under the same circumstance.Whether an adault or a kid.DO you think your helping or hurting CCP's potential to make this into a great game?
U actually hit the nail on the head. Some ppl will totally miss the point and not achive as much. The game is built so you can find ends and make them meet. So those ppl just disappear and New eden is self-corrected again. It doesn't matter of the age of the player. CCP is making such a unique game we have a hard time accepting what it is.
So what is this game we are playing? Maybe we can define it in 4 years time, it might even take 10. |

This is what they think...........uh that doesnt jive with me.Im not your monkey. You can go into EVE GATE and read thread after thread that we will be there servants. This attitude is rampant and most rampant in CROSS play EVE players who have plans for you to get them what they want to there own ends.So they have formed corporations over here and will fund there wallets with there alts.If you want a paycheck and dont care then go be a PUPPET. http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2011/06/interview-dust-514-on-ps3-will-help-hurt-eve-online-players-in-new-ways/Fannar explained that soldiers could outright rule over an entire planet, cutting off another corporation's much-needed resources for survival. If not get bent....PUPPET

Battletech, to quote another universe, has a lot of mercs. These mercs are either independent, as you call them, or house mercs (what you refer to as puppets). They have stable, long-term contracts with a specific faction, but that doesn't mean they won't eventually end up somewhere else one day, it's just that as mercs, when the pay is good, the work easy (but not so easy you grow bored), then you tend to be okay staying in one place and with one employer.
However, true mercs tend to go where the pay day is, so I suggest a third category: contracted merc corps. You will see some merc corps going from one contract to the next, taking contracts only in the short term, or for one 'war'. You will also see mercs who only fight for one faction/alliance, and perhaps anyone that alliance approves them to work for. But I believe most will fall somwhere inbetween as contract mercs, being employed for lengthy periods, but still not bound specifically to one alliance. They may take no-compete clauses out in their contracts, such that they can still take other contracts, just not against their employer, for instance.
Anyway, cool hypothesis, just thought I'd attempt to tweak it a bit.
Edit:
Also, if there ends up being a way to profit from invading and capping a planet that doesn't involve holding the planet, such as stripping it of all its resources and supplies, then we will also likely see bandit or marauder dust corps. They will have an EVE presence, either as a supposed 'puppet', or as a DUST based corp with EVE assets. They will likely take contracts, but will be the equivalent of DUST pirates.
I am excited as I contemplate the development of the major DUST corps. Corps that honor their contracts and are considered dependable AND efficient, will be highly valued, regardless of whether they are independent, puppet, contract, or marauder corps. Some corps will become known for being untrustworthy and treacherous and some of those will be known for their skill and ability to win battles, but will it be worth the risk of hiring them to defend your planet only to have them potentially hand it over to your enemies and plunder it themselves? Exciting times in the EVE universe to come. |

I appreciate you actually reading thru this thread....Absolutely my friend. You are right on target Im just trying to convey that to my fellow PS3 players......the trolling by certain corps that would like to see PUPPET only DUST mercs are extremely hell bent on the direction that they want DUST to go....and I feel, are trying to steer DUST in that direction. To there own ends. Taking the TRUE NEW EDEN experience( With its cold harsh intricacies and beauty) out of DUST.I let my self get vexed but as I see it yes those players that dont have any character development and are used by other players....deserve my ire, and would do well to stay out of my way. They will be PUPPETS. |

I love how you talk like no one else sees that there will be a difference and that everyone who tells you learn to live with it is "ONE OF THOSE CORPS THAT WANTS TO SEE PUPPET ONLY DUST MERCS." You're fun, want to hang out? Wait, you can't because I'm in a puppeteer corp...you know that how? Have you spoken with anyone in my corp? Have you played a match or two with anyone in my corp?
So wait you're basing your trolling on the fact that I tried to give you advice originally to "not make enemies with everyone you come across." Oh so I'm a puppeteer because of that?
Great logic there bro, still looking forward to destroying your corp at every opportunity. |

No. That's one of the funniest parts of this rabble. Dust players will be able to hit Eve ships in orbit of a planet. Eve ships only go to planets currently to harvest PI materials with a hauler. The other funny part is the notion that Dust players can choke off planetary materials in a large enough scale to make more than 50 people upset. Though physically imaginable, it would take hundreds of thousands of unified Dusters to get to these planets (magically), and get resources off planets (magically), to market, and somehow sold to the same Eve oppressors who will make the suits Duster fight with??
