If anything it becomes "pay to play to win".
I'm talking only about increasing the skill cap, not getting SP bonuses or SP for free............
My interest was only sparked when reading another thread about PLEX etc and was wondering if CCP are trying to find an ISK faucet as well as income. |

Yep! I know exactly what you are talking about. This should give you a better idea about P2P2W consequences. |

I'm not sure that particular post detailed enough about why it wouldn't work.
Don't get me wrong, I doubt I'll ever be good enough to need to purchase an increased SP cap, but it was the discussion i was interested in.
I assume your thoughts are that it will just allow players to run away with their skill points?

Wait. Is this how it currently is? Or is this just a suggestion of how it should be. |

K then. I've paid for Aurum, and I don't want it. As a paying player I don't want any of my winning to be pinned on the fact that I've paid. Rather I want it purely on my own merit. I already feel like I have a huge advantage with BPO standard suits. When I want to fight cheaply, I have a 4k is fit that has a standard suit stats. |

Again, just to be clear, the idea was to extend the SP CAP, not to assist people in getting there.
If the cap is 1,000,000 SP for each week, then spending varying levels of AURUM (and it should be expensive) will extend that to a maximum 1,500,000 for example.
You still have to earn it.

dust has a skill cap so who cares. And by skill cap I mean life long cap of level 5 per skill. Once you hit level 5 in everything you'll most likely still be taking out advanced gear.
So who cares? |

I'm reading all these posts and I keep wondering why everyone is talking about P2P2W. What W? Where does my amount of SP or AUR factor in to winning? Does everyone think that all they need to do to get better and win is to get that better gun? Or do they think that they should be able to go 1 v 1 against every single other player and win? Nooooo, that's not how this works. If they have much better gear than you that means you have to squad up. That's those people with the little blue chevron over them. Ohhh...you thought that the matches had not greater purpose than your KDR? You didn't realize that you're fulfilling a contract to protect the resources of your employer and they literally could not care less how many kills you get if you lose their territory? You think that solo players running around in totally awesome uber suits picking off people one by one while the rest of their team get slaughtered are going to be in high demand? Yes, several of them on a team will make it very difficult for you to win against them but do you think they got all that SP only because they had a booster? Or maybe it's because they're just good at the game.
And holy hell oh my jumping jebus the math on this thread is so stupid I had to go do some calculus just to make sure it didn't infect me by reading it. So they can get more SP in a week than you can. I'm trying to imagine why I should care but I can't. So CCP is going to open DUST for just one day so everyone starts at exactly the same time? Or are they going to reset everyone's SP whenever a new character is made? Are you going to cry because someone started playing 6 months before you did and now you can never catch up?
And one more thing. Us EVEtards and our holier than thou attitudes. Yea, you can just shut it. I guess EVE players are the only people in the history of the internet to think they're better than everyone else. And also because we play EVE we all think that way. No, actually that's stupid, is called stereotyping and while usually based somewhat in fact is never totally correct. Black people love fried chicken. That's a stereotype, and it's based in truth because black people really do love fried chicken. But it's total BS because everybody loves fried chicken. The reason people seem to think that us eggers feel so superior is because we tend to make posts worded exactly like this one. I'm being a complete **** right now and I don't care. Why? Because we play EVE because we hate whining. Seriously. Most of us play EVE because it isn't fair, you have to actually work for things because the game isn't going to hand you jack ****. People are always going to try to screw you, the police only show up after your ship is dead, 100% of the offers in the Jita local channel are scams, there is no "safe zone" and you will be killed anywhere at anytime unless you're in a station.
You guys want to hear about Hulkageddon? Yea, that's an event held every year set up by a player where cash prizes are awarded for killing helpless mining ships. These are ships that can't defend themselves at all. People fit large groups of super cheap ships so they can kill the mining barge in the few seconds before the NPC police show up and kill them all. People whine to CCP in droves every time it happened and they said "Well, there's a cash prize so it's not griefing. Here's a gift of 1 unit of tritanium." That's worth about 5.5 isk I think at the moment while the Hulk you lost would have cost around 200-300 mil.
So if you think I'm full of myself or I think I'm better than everyone you're wrong. I'm just done with this stupid, whiny crap in every damn thread on here. And if you hate me now cause I'm calling you out then I guess I'll see you on the battlefield. Please, bring that proto fit you seem to think automatically makes anyone wearing it a winner and I'll show you why PS>SP.

not keen on that - it would be real P2W - unless there is an isk version of the same in which case you can choose pay to win or play to win which seems ok to me. |

I seem to remember it being said that the boosters make you not hit the cap faster, so they already add a 1.5 bonus to your weekly active gains... so we already have what you asked for and more :P

I love money, If that means I'll see you at the top so be it. But that has not been my experience, I have my boosters - aurum - which keep a company I like in business and I'm happy to keep buying 1 booster a month and maybe the UVT and some Aur gear to keep it that way. And I still don't get to the point of double digit SP. I'm sure I'll get some flames for that - but this is business.
