I too, played EVE Online many years ago, and remember hearing of you guys. Unfortunately I had to move around, and life caught up to me, so I was forced to put down my mouse and keyboard for a while. I recently bought a PS3, and have much more available time than before. I am so intrigued by this game and excited at the possibilities and would love to join DUST University, as well as grow and learn with you guys. I have applied so in game, and just waiting hopefully for acceptance. I am active daily, and learn quickly, and if needed I would be willing to create a new toon to suit the Corporation's needs.
Please consider me as a candidate for joining your Corporation, and by my next paycheck, I will have a mic ready to go. (Probably before my next paycheck because of the anticipation that's driving me)

Playing DUST since yesterday and info'ing about the skilltree (Do understand it, but there's always something to learn). Planning on getting the mic after my glassfiber network is done (Should not take longer than a week). Am I qualified enough? If yes, I'll apply first thing tomorrow! Dutchie though!
Feel free to apply. All that is required is a mature attitude and a willingness to help others with questions and ask them yourself. |

You guys seem great, I'll apply to the corp. later today. I've only played DUST for a little bit, but what I have played has been great. I have a good amount of experience in FPS so I should be able to get into the groove of this game pretty fast. Hopefully things work out and I'll have a cool group of people to play with and fight for our honor, or whatever you guys fight over in EVE. |

FYI Dust Bunnehs, if Eve Uni do as well in Dust as they have in Eve, it would be hard to pick a better corp. |

Wanted to say that the few hours I've spent so far as a member has been wonderful. Couldn't drive a LAV to save my life before I joined, but after a couple tips in a corp match, I went from miserable to adequate! Nice group of people here, very helpful. |

I'm keen to join with one, maybe two of my characters but have no idea how this Uni works really.
I can't say I'm an amazing FPS player, I've never played Eve and I'm only just getting into Dust so whether I'm an acceptable candidate could be questionable(?).

Look at the Website of our sister corp EVE University to get a sense of where we hope to go once the Dust Corp UI matures.

Hi
Kevall Longstride Said:
Quote: If you don't hear it in The Simpsons you don't say it here. I expect this to be self policing but if I'm online and hear it....
I saw this and smiled, thinking, this may be something I'm interested in.
But then... This video surfaced. And if IRC, the first 5 or so words heard, one would definitely not hear on The Simpsons.
Afterwards, there was indeed a response from Kevall Longstride.
However, the issue of the language offense was not addressed.
Being new to Dust, but not to FPS, I was looking to "Fight" for a Dust Corp. that had strong ties to the EVE counterpart and utilize the relationship to combat for the EVE Corp.
What say you in response to the "Offense"? Feeling as if there is not enforcement of Law and Policy has somewhat soured my fancy with your University.
Please refer to Last Name portion of my character if you wish to know why such acts would offend me.

I didn't watch the video all the way through but I flipped through it to get the general idea of what my fellow corp member was suggesting, a controlled training environment. I'm sure he wasn't condoning anything said in it.
The video itself wasn't taken by a member of DUST University, nor were they playing in it so I can't really say or do anything as a form of punishment for the language. I can assure you that if that were my corp mates speaking like that they'd be kicked. Indeed, I've kicked one member for such an offence already.
I have watched it all the way through now however and you'll have to forgive me for being woefully ignorant here but I can't hear or see anything that would cause offence in referance to your second name, other than the swearing. Can you point me to a time reference in it please so I can understand the nature of it. Many Thanks |

Ex-EvE player migrating to Dust. Joined the university yesterday. One of the in-game mails said we have a D-Uni forum accessible from the main Dust 514 forum page. Perhaps this clone is a touch shell-shocked, but I can't see it and searching just brings up the university being referred to in other posts.
Is our little corner of the forums still around, or did CCP misplace it amidst the beta chaos?
Thanks!
Back on the topic of the youtube video ... while the language is definitely not family friendly, it is nothing unusual for EvE players. CCP washes their hands of the matter with the "online interactions not rated" disclaimers (although they have been known to use the ban hammer when hate speech or insults come up) so it's up to each corp to set their language rules and police them. As most EvE-related players are adults, most EvE corps have minimal enforcement of language rules, if they have such rules at all. One of the things I always liked about E-Uni (and hopefully D-Uni) is the language guidelines ... they help prevent comms from descending into meaningless profanity and annoyance.

If you're signed into these official forums, using your PSN details and with the charector you have in the Uni, then the DUST University forums should be under announcements on the front page.
Hope that helps. |

They're just virtual "universities", places to train. EvE University was for EvE players, teaching them how to fly, fight, fleet, make isk and generally survive ... as well as being an awesome place to hang out for veteran players. Dust University aims to do the same thing for Dust ... learn how to play, tactics, teamwork, etc. But most of all, have fun :) |

Currently applied if the recruitment is open. Figured it'd be best to drop out of TSOLE for a bit and improve my overall combat. (Multi-classing at the moment, started as a sniper and began working on other suits to try different play styles.) |

Interesting... I've been playing solo all the time and I think I've learn a lot the hard way. But, I think I can still learn some other things like "teamwork" and how corps work in this game (I've been playing for 2 weeks, BTW)
However, thanks to my "infiltrator" game style (Focused on capturing a lot, sneaking a lot, shotgun to the face a lot) I have some troubles in my squad sometimes, because everyone plays full frontal assault or they are sniping all the time...
Is the recruitment still open? I think I want to try some luck here for a while :3 |

I was just wondering....
How active is the corp? Organized? I know the Eve side is very active, very organized, and vary large, just wondering how D-Uni compares at this point. I joined the public channel and have never seen more than three people in it.

Cant give details (not my place too, you will have to wait on Kev for that) but D-Uni is a very active corp but admittedly not as organised as E-Uni is at the moment.
In terms of training a large part of it is one on one or in squad training, Dust lacks the corp mechanics to enable us to set up structured classes but we have a work around and we are currently working on structured lessons covering all aspects of Dust and FPS ranging from structured practical classes to more theory based lectures and discussions.
Soon TM
The only downside at the moment is that a player has to actively seek help to get it. they can't quietly sign up to a class and learn what they want to, they have to ask for help and we will help them as best we can. As for activity we have exceeded all expectations. Again can't give number will have to ask Kev but we have 23.5/7 activity and there is always people to play with which is something I am personally very proud of.
D-UNI is of to a great start and can only continue to improve. |

Good stuff, just asking before I make any plans to move. I understand corp mechanics killing a lot of corps right now so I am not expecting the same set up as Eve-U, just wondering about the low numbers in the public channel. |
