I don't want to seem like I'm spamming, but they do have a sticky requesting that you not make lists, and I want to get these all out there while they're on my mind.
I know not everyone here likes Halo, but one aspect of that game I really liked when they implemented it was having weapons be holstered to your character model rather than just appearing from thin air when you switched weapons. Actually, being able to see weapons you were carrying was also a feature of the original Planetside, and one I really hope they bring back for Planetside 2.
I guess the main issue with this concept is that there aren't a lot of standpoints for requesting this feature other than aesthetics. I do at least think this would be a nice feature in that when you see a Heavy come around the corner and come at you, you can immediately see he's got that HMG slung on his back, and you can fall back to your squad and take him on together before you get shredded. That's just one example, but I think it will provide a very nice addition of immersion to the gameplay, and allow you to play more tactically.
Sadly, this would probably require changes to models of several deployable equipment items, as their current size is far too large to be carried on the body without looking silly, such as Nanohives and Drop Uplinks. |

It would be really handy to tell what weapons someone has before you attempt to kill them from a certain range, or just know what your teammates have so you can get a general idea of what they're going to be doing, even if they don't say a thing over coms.
A feature I'd like to see. +1 |

I like the idea. It'd be better if it were implemented in a way, that most of you would ***** and moan about though... |

In any case, I think such a feature would add a further sense of immersion, as well as allowing players to better plan their engagements based on their enemy's capabilities. |

I like it in theory but there may be consequences that you do not like.
More drawing for each individual character, animations of switching weapons, and the unique setup of 32 players on a map and eventually 64 will lead to more HDD retrievals, more draws for the processor, and more lag for that data transfer.
If it can be done in a way that will not disable gameplay, and that is possible, then I would support it as well. |

As many graphical flourishes as they can manage while keeping performance up would be nice. Sort of goes without saying I'd have thought. |

I also like this idea. I'm also playing the PS2 beta, and I don't remember seeing anyone's weapons stuck to them. :( |

He was saying that he hopes they bring this graphical feature from Planetside 1 over to Planetside 2. It's just a question of performance at the end of the day. Planetside 2 has had some real performance issues. Upping the polycount by rendering everyone's sidearm/etc would only compound that, as it would compound Dust's performance issues. |

Yeah, I like that game and all. Every battle though seems like just a 50 people swarm to one place then swarm to another. |

i like this idea also but that might be a problem for weapons as well, such how shotguns are the only weapons that fit on yoor arm...how might that work.....i support your idea for the record |
