I thought activision was the king of fixing one thing and f'ing up another, but CCP is right up there. They fix a lot of the server side issues such as invalid fits and random disconnects, and then screw us on SP, ISK, do "quick fixes" that make using squad commands completely worthless, because you have to be standing on top of a point to get anything from it, and even if you do get something from it it's not enough to count. You get 1 orbital per match if you're lucky, and hardly any war points even when your squad does what their supposed to. So yeah, I hear what you're saying. The game itself has so much potential, but they have to realize that no one wants to play it when you every match does almost nothing for your SP to level up skills, and you dont even make enough ISK to buy any equipment you are able to level up. It's getting pointless to even play. No one wants to use free starter fits and get owned every game. It's pretty hard for me to convince my guys to give up BF3, MW3, BO2, MAG or Socom to come play this, with the promise that "Oh it will get better" when it keeps getting worse from a player perspective. There's less and less incentive to play.

After this 3rd reset i have no more will to hack through all the problems and try to lvl skills up with the measly SP we get every match. All the new players are saying "Its beta deal with it" . This beta has been like an aging simulation and my character is now trying make his way around these huge maps with a walker whilst yearning for days past. If it keeps going this direction I'm going to sign a do not resuscitate order and tell my family to pull the plug.

Many of us saw this coming a long time ago, ofc. As CCP starts to put the pieces together and tighten up the engine, and hit detection and other outstanding issues are addressed, the peeps wailing about 'no gungame, broken mechanics' are being forced to morph their arguments to 'speed of gameplay'. LOL. Enjoy it while it lasts, because in a patch or 2 all you're gonna have to whine about is 'strafe speed', which is what the argument was about from the beginning. It is a textbook example of histrionics meets competence.

The classic response of some one who hates to have a different opinion, used to think it was a priviledge to be in this beta but with the lack of dev input on the forums to our concerns and leaving us in the dark as to there next move it's more like pissing against the wind these days.

Its not irc, CCP listens to the constant cries on these forums. People cried about tanks so they got a huge nerf, they also cried about dancing scouts so strafing was nerfed, and so on.
Cpl Quartz 127	Posted - 2012.10.13 20:51:00 - [32] - Quote dance all they like as far as im concerned just make them hittable at the ranges they should be hittable and noone on these forums asked for a reduced strafe you can attribute that to CCP lets just say employees that think that it's acceptable to solve a problem by compromizing game quality. tanks did need something doing about them. and it is IRC, what happened last build when people in IRC whined about the isk gain because they were too **** to stay alive long enogh to make a suit pay for itself? yep you guessed it CCP hotfixed (the very next day, shows exactly how much thought that went into the changes and consequences) and gave absolutly no thought about the work that had gone into balancing up to that point. and let's not even go there if we were talking long term damage that them changes would have caused newbie etc later in the game.

I don't fly tanks, i play AV and i think Tanks are too weak... It's just my opnion as a AV player. OB's was very nice in the precursor build i thought that too, they have moved them up a rank or two in power though and that made them too powerful with the WP farming. I think if they had done either the WP change or raised the WP needed for a OB things would be fine but they did both and its a bit much i think.

So they probably do seem a bit weak, but while you are in AV, you are weak vs Assault dudes. Balanced composition is really important. But not as important as this game playing like unreal.

Fun Fact: Armor HP receive 30% additional damage from Missiles ... and maybe AV grenades. Oh, and Armor tanks have horrible turning speed and acceleration. The beta has been around for a long while and some things have definitely gotten better but after such a long time testing, you would expect to see some sort of advances in balancing things such as weapons, suits, gun play; and instead, there have been a lot of set backs instead of a steady progress. On the other hand I see a lot of Dust advocates (mostly EvE players) just say vague things like: 'you just don't grasp the grand idea behind Dust because you, discontents, are all teenagers and peasants'. I think I lot of ppl have banded around Dust specifically because of the 'grand idea' of a persistent world where you play FPS with an MMO level of metagame but at the current level of development the beta just doesn't reflect this at all. It can be said that the developers are using different builds to test specific things. For example, present build puts low ISK reward pressure on ppl to use start up suits and therefore, creates an environment favorable to testing how start up suits compare to everything else. If this is the case I wish developers were more explicit about it - they could have said: this build is to test how well AR can be used as well as to test low level gear. This would have avoided a lot of frustration on the part of testers.

Even my shotgun scout is better to use, maybe its the improved hit detection? The only thing I find a bit disappointing is no SP for repairing, and we can thank ourselves, the community for that one. The 5 objectives map(s) are still a bit glitchy and laggy at times but nothing like the last build, which was horrific from that view. In summary, not perfect but definitely getting better. (Not sure what to make of tanks. 2 builds back horribly overpowered, now something the AV types see as being an easy kill. Work needed there).

But i know CCP, they will do the same with Dust as they did with EVE and it will be released broken, it's how CCP operate. They will patch and push things forward and add content as they move. That's how CCP work, people say its **** and they shouldnt and blah blah blah and people said that wouldn't ever work for EVE either but it has and it's what CCP do.

That's actually why there's other games out there. You act like CCP is forcing to play this beta privilege. Either quit playing or wait til release to Cry about the game but til then have a coke and a smile and Shut the ** up . This is discussion forums not crybaby an whine forums. Sony hand selected me to test this beta back during the private trials (before the EVE players even got into it) and when i've seen this game go to ** of course i'm going to voice my opinion.
