Umm, why is this news being made public?
I was under the impression Betamax was a more professional Corp who understood the value of discretion.
Either some in-house issues have made this Corp split in two.............or this is an attempt at a clever hoax to spread questions and dissension between Corps. Either way, as Zion said, let this lie. A splitting Corp deserves room to breathe, or a Corp who is spreading propaganda may need room.......period. |

This is true in some senses, but to the layman it is not. If you know Betamax history, it will feel that way (so that's why I talk about it that way) but the new corp is not directly affiliated, although it is officially endorsed as an avenue for our competitive branch to stay focused and keep options open. |

Come on man. This is business. It's one thing if someone has personal problems, but this has nothing to do with that. This is nothing more than the inevitable result of the personalities represented there. A good dose of humility goes a long way, and i have no doubt there was a severe shortage of it in betamax. While i dont know any of them personally, i base my opinion off several posts found throughout these forums. Anyone who goes out of their way to talk about how good they are at something in reality is just over compensating. It will never last, because ego's will always get in the way.
Thats just a humble opinion from a little known corp CEO. We'll see how it all plays out in the end. |

Noc! important hope you see this, the point you made earlier about Betamax being copyrighted is a valid argument and I'm not contesting that. However I did some research and found that Imperfects is copyrighted as well so you have just as much trouble with that as with Betamax. I can't send a direct link to the page because it will say expired session so go here Copyrights Search for: Imperfects Search by: keyword then under the crystal clear link should be link 6 under the marvel copyrights and it's copyrighted as the name of a song. Just thought you guys should know with that current name you will likely face as many problems as you would with BetaMax. |

Even if the spy paranoid story is true, ask yourself the question.
What damage was done?
Answer is absolutely none, spies can't claim they did anything serious by having beta max not only be shuffled about but become a honey net 'assest.' in the process.
Anyone in eve knows you can change labels but you cant change the contents. Notorious players will continue to be notorious players no matter which corp they're in. People years from now may still refer to noc and friends as betamax despite numerous name changes provided they stick together. |

What ever the reason this is truly a PR cluster kitten. I think every corp can learn from this.
I can understand why some of the larger corps would want an elite corp, due to the current corp ranking system. Using the betamax corp as your recruiting corp and funneling the current and newly found killers to an elite corp is smart, the new elite corp will rank well. it's worked well for the Marines/SEALS so it should work well for you too.

They did the damage themselves. If they're going to burn 50% of their corp, including some very good players, what corp in their right mind would hire them?
One of them spoke about loyalty. He doesn't understand that splintering off to form your own "elite" corp isn't exactly the best display of loyalty.
All you had to do was add everyone, and send them a message. I think that would have saved all the drama. |
