Why all the haters and babies do what they do....
It's cuz they think this all the game is going to be or has to offer. Right we've only seen maybe 1/4 of what there will be come launch.

The game has bee in serious BETA sense March. We have gotten maybe at most 10 new maps, a couple new weapons, and one BLACK-OPs tank. At this rate it will be 2017 when we actually 100 of said 10 000 new maps |

First off there isn't really any way to prove anything. IM not in charge at CCP.
Secondly. You are proving my point. You think that this is what the game will be like. IM sorry to say the dreaded words but... This is a BETA. IM not really a tech guy but in my opinion we are not here to test out hundreds of maps or weapons . We test out the systems behind the workings of the game. TheSE are not even the actual servers we will be using.
EVE was not perfect when it launched. It's taken years for it to get whre it is. Dust is like a fine wine, it will get better with time. I got faith. |

Many of the features will be added after release or only tested internally. They have had webifiers and capacitor neutralizers since spring, we still don't even have cap.
Industry, fighters, mtac, and mcc(it will be a player controlled vehicle) are all said to be added after launch. |

and that just means we get the same thing happening in Dust as in EvE saw it at the start of the last patch when some people were given the nod on what was overpowrered and what to train. keep your corrupt internal testing. this game is going to be competetive NOT. |

I agree with the OP. Dust514 will be 'finished' when they shut down the server. Until then, the game will keep changing. Launch is when Dust514 begins, not when it's finished. |

Many folks that post on the forums can't seem to conceive of a game lifespan model other than the - launch game-in-a-box title, string out some DLC, re-skin game, launch game-in-a-box 2 with even more advertising, rinse, repeat kind of thing.
There isn't going to be a release. There will never be a DUST 514 II, Magma Merc. The game is designed to be scalable for upcoming platforms. Months from now a player will very likely wake up one day and think, "Wait, are we still in Beta?" and the answer will be, "Sort of."
But if you want to fix the release of the game to some event, I would say, when the NDA is lifted, the game can be considered launched. |

good luck selling that to the ps3 crowd and getting repeat custom. actually good luck selling that to any FPSer. release this game when its not balanced and fun at their peril imo. it's bad enough reading comments like "fool me once" on other forums from people who broke the NDA without having to endure it on the day of release on every gaming forum/site. |

Zoom out on your "map" for a second. There's more than a few other "maps" there, dumbass.
Supposedly, most of the megaterrain systems will be randomly generated, with some structures (that we've been testing) scattered around them |

Actually we have around 30-40 maps, every weather/climate is a map, that's how they're going to have over 1,000 maps, You play a resource/military base with sand then you do the same base with grass they're different map, i'm guessing in the end there will be 50-100 bases supporting that 1,000s of maps and keep in mind 50 "bases" is ALOT and they will variate every time in weather and climate, also in a eve thing it lists about 3-4 more weapon types to come/a new suit type and we know there will be mech's in 2013, and last a not least there's everything that you can see for yourself as SOON |

Actually look at almost all the new games like this, they are being brought out before they are really finished.
Its not like they want to, but at a certain point you need to start making real money to keep paying your employees and staff.
Games that are meant to be long lasting are brought out with the expectations that they are always a work in progress.
DCUO, not at all ready and still it was brought out. Players came and left and then came back because it was a good game.
Same will happen with Dust. |
