Just wanted to say to CCP that I am enjoying the additions of the ladders, as well as more staircases and ramps and such in the base layouts. Makes me look up a lot more often (other than looking for guys hiding up on rock outcroppings and the inevitable snipers in the hills) than I did previously, and gives players new places to go and fight from.

Couldn't agree more. The more variety in gameplay, the better. |

Agreed, definitely makes the battlefield a more dynamic and engaging experience. Hope to see more small tweaks like this that add those small and largely overlooked but greatly appreciated interactions. The little stuff like this makes all the difference to players like me who like exploring and looking for new ways to get the upper hand. I was just thinking yesterday that you might add a cargo lift to the outside of some of the bigger buildings that can be shot at and from while they go up and down the side of the building. |

Just played a skirmish, where the red were all standing on roofs, pipes, whatnuts, taking potshots at people instead of cap'ing. Needless to say, they lost.
Conclusion: Ladders are good, but people seem to think now, that game is about standing still at the highest point possible.

Indeed. I usually climb to a high secure place and put down a droplink so that it's not readily accessible to be destroyed by wandering enemies, then go on about my business in other parts of the map. I just like having the option of getting on a building for a better vantage point or to get the drop on enemies who think they are sneaking around it. |

LOL
doesn't do any good if the entire team is hanging out up top and not trying to cap the objectives, no. I was having fun using them as quick ways across to get somewhere or as a vantage point, esp. for things like swarm launchers anf forge guns, etc. |

Yes, being able to more easily change elevation often made Dust 514 dynamic and an engaging experience. Another thing that can have the same effect is to bring back the wobbling UI from 3 builds ago. This Dust 514 2012 Keynote video and this thread shows what I'm talking about.
Also on this post CCP Frame said this:
CCP Frame wrote:Templar Two wrote:Hawk Von Draum wrote:take a chill pill, it takes 3 seconds to make a joke vs 3 hours to properly consider a serious post as long as yours and even longer to discuss with the ccp team before crafting a reply. What about my 10 days old post "Bring Back Wobbling HUD" Really that feature was in the old build, we asked for it, they had more then 3 hours to discuss it, and yet no answer. We read every single post you guys make. If there is no official reply from us that doesn't mean it went under the radar! :) And yes, some of us like wobbling UI as well, and we shall see what we can do about that!
Hopefully it can come back next build. |

Yes, please bring that back! The basic wobble makes the game feel SO much more natural.
EDIT: And the ADS looks so much better in that video. Not to mention the sound quality. |

Big +1 on ladders. They make the buildings feel like they're used by humans. Such a small addition makes a huge difference to immersion. |

the ladders are great, though getting onto them can be troublesome. I've definitely had moments of looking around the ladder till the activator pops up so I can start climbing. not so good in a firefight. |

Love it, I would like a bit more indoors now and some hackable doors, elevators and catwalks on the inside and outside of buildings along with draw bridges, lifts(for vehicles), and gates built in with a more rugged terrian the maps would be wonderful amd blow away any BF3 map please keep on the route ypur going CCP. |

Maybe remove the hit o for ladders. Borderlands is on same engine and does it this way, much easier to use in firefight, still easy to kill while climbing. It also would allow jumping into ladder, maybe to shorten climb time or jumping from mid sized building to ladder on side of taller one.
edit: I also support the more building interiors and hack-able doors suggestion. |

Bump:
I love the ladders, now I no longer need to waste a whole dropship just to get to a good sniper perch :) They really add a new layer to the game.
I also support more building interiors, as indoor combat has increasingly become the most fun part of the game this-build. |

Oh yeah now the next step we need is to have some map in urban enviroment, there would be so much variety in fighting styles and different kinds of tactics. ... |

I submitted the idea of a crashed/submerged flagship/spacestation map on a water/liquid surfaced planet a while back. That would allow for underwater vehicles and lots of close quarters fighting, not to mention a bunch of environment interactions and perhaps underwater dropsuits. Objectives could be to purge areas of the ship where enemies are spawning or to take command of the bridge for long enough to take control of the ship. You could also set the objectives to be to just secure certian areas of the ship long enough for EVE players to extract supplies stored in the ship. |

+1 for loving the ladders
And of course the assault rifle guys love to hate anything that isn't running and gunning. ;) We should make Ambush mazes for them to run around.
For sniping, and AV work, these are very much needed, thanks. |
