You know that you agreed to the possibility of system harm when you play this beta. Your threats of lawsuits are hollow.

I mean im not sue'in **** but i can see some1 trying because thier ps3 got trashed. Im not trying to threaten, im trying to see if CCP cares at all if their players are not only losing plenty of money ingame to bugs but they have the real possibilty of losing a lot of real money. Does CCP care about its player base? Id like to see a dev comment on this with a little concern. Not the answer to the simplest question in a thread.

I didnt draw up the agreement, lawyers did. I am sure they did it airtight, but I am sure though that a guy named smoke2bowls will win a lawsuit against SONY and their army of lawyers.

you have no idea how bad the standard hard drive on the ps3 is. I recommend getting a better hard drive for your ps3, and if you can afford it, get a solid state drive, makes a world of difference.

None of those threats of lawsuits is going to happen. Every player should know by now that beta testing entails risks to hardware. If you don't get that concept, then get out of Dust Beta. In fact, get out of beta testing of any game in general because that's just the way it is. People have reported seeing their PS3 consoles locking up to the point of physical damage from just beta testing MASS EFFECT games and that is just one example. Were the developers sued for that? No. The beta testers agreed to the risks.

It's obviously nothing to do with the HDD if you ask me, it's not corruption or dataloss. It's blatantly straining components and over heating them if you ask me.

They do compensate 50$ if they happen to fry your ****. They know it has been making some peoples systems run way to hard, more then they were designed to. It has been reported for awhile, and needs to continue being reported.. because guess what happens when beta is gone and this occurs again but to wayyyyy more people.. guess what it is.. cmon now, just 1 guess... LAWSUIT.. so troll elsewhere and let people express thier concerns

The bottom line is that the risks are not hidden, if you dont want to take the risk dont test the beta. Coming on the forums talking lawsuits is childish.

Stating that this is damaging PS3's should not be met with "Herp Derp, read the EULA!". The fact is this is doing some pretty serious damage in some cases.

Myself I've had this particular build make my PS3 shut off due to over-heating, it never happened last build or any of the previous ones. Now it wont last being on more than 5 minute without resetting itself and going into shutdown. The fact is that this build it has something beyond game breaking in it.

Have you seriously not noticed the massive frame drops and audio stuttering after playing a while?. I regular see 3 different people with different playstations all suffering this issue.

You can say "It's a beta!" or any crap that relates to the EULA. The fact is it is DAMAGING SYSTEMS by straining them to breaking and overheat point.

Pointing this out should not be met with cries of you read the law now deal with it. Are you all that mental not to realise that there's actually an issue here?.

I don't want money back I know what I signed up to, but there's definately an issue this build and I'm pretty sure it's to do with that skirmish map that should've been removed last build, not tweaked and put back in.

Just so you know, the chances of any software ruining your hardware unintentionally are pretty low. Almost impossible, really.

A hard freeze has almost no chance to ruin your PS3's ability to run. Neither does yanking out your power cord. However, yanking out your power cord can damage the cord or the input jack which CAN kitten up your PS3. Just hold the button down whenever you freeze and nothing bad will happen.


The "Checking hard drive" message that shows up after an unexpected shutdown is just a safety check and can almost always be skipped and ignored. Let it run once a month or so and run the rebuild database feature included with your PS3, and everything will be fine.
