exactly people are weeks ahead now. i've got 1 toon with under 50k and no way to make any isk because i refuse to finish a game with the state this build is in. if it's not the mouse jumping all over the screen its some ps3 controller player using the player hitbox to "bump" you off your target. like a hoard of 7yr old school kids all trying to get out of a door at the same time. another reason the turn on FF TBH.
by the time they fix this another issue i pointed out last build will come into play, how are new players going to not be hounded out of the game by people with beter gear and more skills trained? can't wait to the see their matchmaking skills if they think thats the answer lol. beter companies than you have tried it and failed- don't even go there for your own sakes. at least before you caved into the IRC whiners and upped the isk gain most people had to use the basic loadouts so made it fairer to the new players. and if they played a lot they could catch up, the people who didnt have the time to put in had aur items that needed less skills trained.
this is a true beta - damn right it is. what comes before beta again? |

Try adjusting the "cross hair sensitivity" in the motion controller settings. It helped my sensitivity somehow. Probably a bug. |

It would be nice if a dev could atleast say they are looking at the issue, I am getting along ok with the new higher speed but i'd love to be able to tweak the speed to something slower without turning smoothing on, because the smoothing is terrible. |

Altina McAlterson wrote:I've been with CCP playing EVE for years through many major and minor patches. If something is a minor inconvenience they'll get to it at some point when they feel like it or a dev might tell you "too bad suck it up" (a bit more PC than that in their wording, most of the time anyway). If anyone remember how the Catalyst would make like a bad M.C. Escher sketch every time you undocked for like 5 years.
But when something big is completely broken, like the controls, they're on that in a day, maybe less. Hopefully they won't make me regret defending them, but they really do fix this kind of stuff real quick. After the last major update to EVE some players (like myself) couldn't run multiple clients without the lag making the game completely unplayable. I'm talking sometimes less than a frame a second for me. They had that fixed in 2 days. So just be patient and they hopefully won't let us down.
LOL, anyway back to the front page.

Tried this and now I have it set to 0. If there was any improvement it's not very noticeable. My mouse sensitivity is still at 0 and it's still way too sensitive.
Also tried setting the dead zones for the motion controller all the way up just for the heck of it but that did nothing.
EDIT: Actually, I've been playing some more and it appears to have fixed the issue of sudden, jerky, crosshair movements that were screwing up my aim before in combat. Although it's still way too sensitive at 0 but it's playable right now. |

are you using a dpi adjusted mouse? and what about mouse smoothing?
never mind redownloaded sensitivity doesnt work dust uninstalled. bet its the shortest period of time any game has been on a ps3 HDD. |

Unplayable for now.
Behaviorstatus for now: Without Mouse smoothing the sensity does nothing. The sensity is always at 100%. No chance to target anything. With mouse smoothing the mouse moves slower, but x and y axis are asynchron. The Y-Axis is 50% slower than the X-Axis, so still unplayable.
Please fix that, then i come back to dust.
thx
EDIT: btw, i tried with a reinstall of dust without sucess. But please update the download in the psn store to the newest build! For now i download the old build in the psn store (2 GB) and then i have to download the patch to the newest build with another 3GB. Thats anoying |

No dpi adjustment on my mouse. It's just a Logitech M500 that I've had for a while.
Like I said though, the sensitivity is still too high but turning the cross hair setting all the way down on the motion controller menu helped with the sudden jerky movements that were making the game unplayable before. |

Right now I'm using a Logitech G9x set to 2500dpi.
My PS3 is set to "Fast" and in game I have sensitivity set to 100.
I honestly feel like DUST is incredibly slow compared to what I normally play. I'm not sure if I'm just hitting the hard limits of rad/sec I can turn, but it feels that way. This is a marked improvement over the speed in the previous build, though. If there is any way to increase the sensitivity just a little bit more, it would be appreciated.
I will say that the Y-axis looking is just broken entirely. It feels like barely 1/4th the speed of the X-axis.
*Note: I have mouse smoothing off and the Y-axis still lags. The option does not seem to affect the Y-axis individually in my experience. |

it's what your used to. years ago i played with high settings, basically if theres an adjustment there it should work.
ps3 settings does squat and in game sensitivity settings does squat either.
going to see a mate this weekend gona take keyboard and mouse to try on his account in case it's something that can be set on server side account settings. |

This might help you guys out. Sounds like you two have DPI adjustable mice, so I would give this a shot. The mouse sensitivity is based entirely on the game client and the hardware you are using, using your friend's account wont change anything.

thx for trying to help. Nope used a microsoft intellimouse optical 1.1 for years not going to change that for anyone, when i knew they were not making any more i bought a few that's how strongly i feel about it. i'll try mouse on a mates ps3 (well his sons) tomorrow. seems odd that some people are syaying they play on 2500dpi when others are reporting big problems on an 800dpi. i know its a preferance thing but i cant see a way that guy can be playing competivley on 2500dpi with mouse smoothing off. i'm moving my mouse millimeters to move the cross hair across the whole screen. makes me think its something server side, when i uninstalled dust and reinstalled it got my previous settings from somewhere, either it didnt uninstall dust fully or it got the info from ccp servers and that could mean sensetivity settings also.Wont play the rest of this build anyway people are to far ahead in skillpoints.
how the **** they can release a build like this i dont know. |

I have my mouse at 2500 dpi and I normally move a centimeter or two to go across a 1920x1200 desktop. I play games pretty comfortably at this speed. In DUST however, I have to move my hand across the mousepad (probably 4-5 centimeters) to spin around in game. Turrets are especially horrific along with ADS. The Y-axis is about twice as slow as this.
*edit: thanks for the above suggestion about separate X/Y settings. I'll be trying this later today. |
