Something wierd going on - my first game and the guy spamming OS went 33-1 - the top WP scorer went 0-0, no idea if its connected but it just fealt wierd. We were hit by strike after strike. |

Those precision strikes are pretty easy to dodge, even with a heavy. If 3 are called in a tight area however, there is no escaping them. |

That makes sense - so the guy repping the lav gets max wp whilst the driver is squad leader and launches the OS. At least before they only got SP lol. |

DUST Fiend wrote:[quote=CCP Contra Merc]...they literally just dropped one strike after the other after the other, the same squad leader 3 times in a row....did you guys lower the requirements or something??
If you: 1. Squad leader sets defend on ABCD or Vehicle 2. Squad member places nanohives and uplink 3. Squad makes kills 4. Squad member revives in the area 5. Squad resupplies
^ all that adds to squad warpoints
If your Squad leader bothers it is easy for one squad to get two or three OB in any gametype. The Teams are squads of 4. There are 4 or 5 squads per side.
In a match you could have anywhere up to 15 OB which works out to quite a few a minute.
In short if the other team is organised and they have better Leadership, this will place your game at a disadvantage.
I bet there is more that i missed, but that is what i worked out so far. I think that there are other elements but idk |

Forgive me for asking, if they can be used later, does this mean they carry into a new match? So you could start a new match and call it in?

You dont need a vehicle anymore to get the WP bonus. Try it on one of your squad mates and roll as a group. You can pretty much spam them. And i think the size of the area that gets hit is now larger and the warning time has beeing drastical lowered. I even have problems to escape from them. And thats why i wont spec into tanks anymore. 1 precision strike and they are taken down allmost instantly. Probs stay with the LAV. |

Balancing is soooo needed, this is kinda totally ruining the game in my opinion.
1- there are way, and I mean WAY too many of them; 2- there often just isn't enough time to get out of the attack radius
If it means imminent death, then at least CAP the total numbers available per match, AND limit them on a time based manner. Add a XX sec. cooldown on them.
If capping the numbers isn't an option then add at least 2 secs between the first glow and actual impact so we at least have a freaking chance to get the frak out of there....
Now it is way to easy to just spam the strikes on whatever objective, kill ALL defenders and simply walk in and take it... It's eassier then walking into Mordor...

dam no love, i like how im the others -_-. i was running with the zitros and jenza :P, and we were just using defend orders and rally orders, each kill I netted a nice 125 points so between the 3 of us we were all just chaining up the OSes, however the other side could do it just as much as we had a few games we could not get off spawn to due to being OSed to hell.
tbh i like it as its keeping the game fluid as big groups of players are forced to move also adds to the atmo with strikes raining down.
but yeh no xploits here just god honest teamwork here. |

Looks like you'll HAVE to get into a corp asap then >_< Why? Cos those clowns sucked at gun fighting, so they have to take up orbital strikes? Check out any skirmish map. There are objectives well protected. And invest in the Orbital canons so that you can take out those dreadnaughts! LMFAO!
The zitros suck at gun game?

I agree on that point, it does add some fluid game dynamics; keeping people from hording together... but the moment they can waste them on every single sniper, or just drop 3 in a row on an objective, just because they have plenty and don't have to make choices on where to drop them, it kills the same dynamic it creates.
I agree it adds something, that is once they limit it in numbers and people have to make decisions on where and when to drop them, not buttonmashing 24/7. |

I've played 2 games in the new build and I've probably seen more OS in just those 2 than all of last build combined. Even more annoyingly, I FINALLY had one myself on an ambush map, called it in on a large group hanging around the clone unit..... nothing. Didn't even fire. Possible bug? |

Yea I hear you, I played maybe 5 games and I can honestly say that was the most Orbital Strikes I have EVER seen in a single gaming session, by far. And they're much deadlier now. |

As stated above already these are NOT orbital strikes, EVE players have no access to the server, these are precision strikes.
And yes they suck in their sheer numbers... can't wait till they fix them, or greatly cap them at least.

It's funny that most of the good solutions to these exploits in this game can be found in MAG.
Like this current fiasco with PS, have a cooldown meter before your next strikes.
Just sayin' MAG has a lot of good answers for problems in this game.

I've finally leared how to survive those "precision" strikes; you just have to run towards the center and stay still, while watchin the awesome explotions around you. I've survived 3 of 4 doing so, so maybe its worth a try.

I just played a match w/ Icecreamking and Bendedcave called down 23, yes 23 OS's. The were basically spawn camping with actually being in the line of fire. Plus they both got like 7k war points. Definite farming and exploiting going on. |

The guys in the squad with me are steadyhand, Mr. Zitro and Omnipitus Zitro. Omni is the general of our forces and director of internal affairs and quite possibly on of, if not the best player in the beta though he claims Mr. Zitro, his brother is better.
they are part of whats known in betamax as the steamroller squad, a team of players that we consider to be the best in the corp and is our frontline team, the team that we intend to deploy for matches we simply cant afford to lose. any one of the steamrollers can be a carry for a random team, but the betamax steamroller in its entirety is a serious force to be reckoned with, and we intend to prove it with this build ;) |

Easy peasy. I'm in Betamax, and I was in a squad of Betamax members, and we ended up against the Steamroller Squad. I think the high point of that game was managing to get a single Orbital Strike, and kill Mr. Zitro with it. Other than that, we got facerolled. |
