Plus I would also like to add that I think it is cute how the op assumes that titan pilots are the ones in charge.
Titan pilots are more often then not, alts and are used more for bridges than for fighting. But you go and shoe them who is boss from your drop suit on some planet in the middle of some system they have never heard of |

I see truth in what everyone has posted in this thread but everyone should recognize the possibilties that are before us. You may say that Dusters will kick ass ( a couple of names that have been posted in this thread already are, atleast mine a couple of times.) and you may say that Eve vets will abuse Dusters ( as that is in mind of a lot who are waiting for complete game integration). But I see a much dangerous and wonderful future, one I know a lot share, is that of huge powerful corps living and breathing in both games as they are two sides to a same coin, two ways to conquer and spread mayhem in one universe and two ways to grow and dominate in the heavens, on the ground, in the back alleys and under the tables. I am just one but like me thay are many, we might not be mayority but as many lost civilizations have learned the hard way victory does not always go hand in hand with overwhelming numbers but who has learned to use every and all means possible to obtain that elusive victory. All I know for sure is that I am gonna have a hell of a time playing this game, I always wanted to play Eve online but I do not have enough time to be able to fully enjoy it. I will try to be as active as I can in Dust 514. I wish you all, Eve vets and Dusters alike, a very good day, with a new dawn the tides are a changin-¦. Keep up the great work CCP cause this is epic. |

Cross Atu wrote:Personally I wonder how many Dust players ARE EVE players. And more to the point how many EVE player Corps are extending an arm into Dust. FW is growing (and CCP has plans for it to become even bigger) plus there's the eventual rollout into Null Sec. We've already seen Goons on the Dust boards, I wonder how many others (tho honestly Goons is big enough to have an impact regardless).
I get the feeling that the majority of DUST mercs in the beta are not playing EVE Online although I may be mistaken. CCP has stated there will be very few negative effects for EVE capsuleers from the actions of DUST mercs so I don't think there will be too much to worry about. DUST 514 will be fully implemented within Factional Warfare in New Eden but I don't see it affecting nul-sec sovreignty. The CSM will see to that I expect. |

Then I started thinking about how badly I wanted to wreck EVE as a Duster (Or Dust Bunny. Whatever we're called).
For all of the hate on Swarms and AV grenades, and hundreds of "Tanks are OP" threads, I hope EVE is ready for ProtomanX, Bad Furry, and the rest of Dust 514. I've never been big about EVE-O, but I'm ready to spit in the face of whichever Titan pilot thinks they run sh!t.

yeah I've found that I'm often one of the younger players when it comes to EVE and Dust. At first this bothered be a bit but then I saw games like CoD that's full of 14 year olds and I decided that playing with older players is far better. |

Scurvy Granger wrote:mongo flash wrote:This post made me giggle. A few thing tho before u get you hole feet wet with kittens on eve players. I don't think you realize how big and how old and how organised the eve community is. You realize that people in eve have been stealing cheating and back stabing eachother for close to 10 years and you think that some group of fps twitchers are going to come on seen and show us something that hasn't already been done or thought of? At most you will be a pawn in an eve players plot to screw some other eve player. It will be a long long time before a dust Bunny is going to be able to effect eve in more than a feather ruffle. Next point I remind you that he who controls the high ground... guess who has it and guess who doesn't. It will be hard to spit in the eye of that titan pilot that's sitting in a ship the size of New York that's in space when you are in your assault suit on the ground. Just saying. Plus you would be amiss to think that the titan wielding alliance's are going to get mercs they don't know to do anything important for them. you would be sadly wrong. You realise that there are alliance's with thousands of members and allies right. You think they arnt going to have their own dust mercs? Don't get me wrong I would love to read about a duster giving it to an eve player. Its a sand box and its this type of stuff that makes it fun. But I think you should aim alittle lower before you start shooting for the stars. So to speak. I would agree with this except that Dust corps will be able to hold their own planets...so a pawn not so much. Plus another wise person says to not underestimate your opponents which it seems alot of EVE players are doing. EVE is established, powerful, and knows what to expect in the current New Eden. EVE is not invincible, and as far as the EVE players getting into Dust, everyone has their style of play that they are best at FPS may not be theirs. FPS consolers have been waiting for a game of this caliber for quite some time and you may yet be surprised by what they can do when they get organized. Also make no mistake, they ARE getting organized. EVE players should start seeking their alliances and mercenary contracts with the FPSers before they end up on the wrong side of their crosshairs. Dust may need to show some respect to EVE, but EVE needs to return that respect or they may not like the result. Dusters CAN build weapons to shoot down your beautiful ships. "...titan wielding allainces are going to get mercs they don't know..." I see it happening, when your planets start falling to a different corp you're gonna want the best and quick...but wait you barely know them, they are just mercs can you trust them. As long as you pay the best you can.
well said sir! If dust is done any justice dust bunnies will be as pervasive a force as eve players in this universe, and if all goes well, we should see a lot of true merc corps that will be used for their reputation to get **** done and not because they are run by trusted players.
While dust bunnies wont be pissing all over eve pilots(I dont think they have that level of bladder pressure) I look forward to the same level of meta game that will cause the destruction and creation of eve and dust coalitions alike.... Which I think was to point of the parent post, so stop getting all but hurt you drama filled little girls.
also you all wish you were asa bad ass at eve/dust as me! |

Im gonna have to agree. When I see these two playing well with a successful corp in Null then I might give a crap, but being able to do one thing well as an individual does not mean you will be good or even useful in the dust end game.

... LOL! XD got to stop and laugh at this that would be like shooting a squirt gun are an elephant. if they even notice its wouldnt be enough to even warrant it firing back lol not even a titan can kill another titan in a single shot not even 100. i dont think you have ever seen one in game, let alone been in a fight with one. you clearly dont get the scale of it and how your going to salvage a titan when its (if you could kill it) in space being picked clean in eve. you wouldnt get any salvage. Balac's Assault Rifle, Sagaris, and Basic Shield Regulators are not titan parts. |

Well, the right shot could have some interesting effects.
The down side is that if it has large effects it means you've gotten someones attention and it's likely not going to be a good day after that. Unless you have friends in which case it may work out quite nicely.
The real impact of Dust on EVE isn't going to come from "Dust vs EVE" it's going to come from new alliances forming between Dust and EVE players and the possible shifts in the balance of power that will result.
Cheers, Cross

+1 to you, good sir.
But if a Skyfire could engage a Titan, then the Titan could bring down a strike with it's Doomsday.
And that is one of those kinds of weapons where everything and everyone on the map (or maybe in the entire district) is free-floating atoms when its all over. |

They fit a doomsday onto a titan ? How big could be a gun you fit onto a planet ? How many could be fit onto a planet ? How big could be the shield batterys on a planet installation ? Who is gona take out these shield batterys without ground forces aka Dusters ?

It is still my .02 that the norm will become alliances who have both DUST and EVE corps under their banners, as well as corps who have a combination of both - in order to coordinate their efforts with an integral fleet and ground arm. essentially having your forces 'in house' |
