I just finished reading about some big EVE scandals and player riots. It got me thinking about how cool it was to make a change in a video game just by working together. Then I started thinking about how badly I wanted to wreck EVE as a Duster (Or Dust Bunny. Whatever we're called).
For all of the hate on Swarms and AV grenades, and hundreds of "Tanks are OP" threads, I hope EVE is ready for ProtomanX, Bad Furry, and the rest of Dust 514. I've never been big about EVE-O, but I'm ready to spit in the face of whichever Titan pilot thinks they run sh!t.
Can't wait for the time to come.

It will be some time before Dust Bunnies will have the clout to throw around to Eve. From what I gather on the interviews, the dev team and CCP leadership would like to eventually see that Dusters do have a significant influence in the tides of battle within New Eden. It kind of seems like the whole point of this grand experiment. There is no reason to think that the same comraderie and treachery will be excluded. I guarantee you that the extortion schemes are already in play, as is jockeying for competent incoming clans/corps.

u realize we pretty much own your contracts right? but thats beside the point. Why should a duster feel inclined to **** in a capsileers cheerios? we're apart of the same community here, you'll need us but we don't necessarily need you atm. I'm sorry but your chest beating has failed. dusters need to undstand how to organize groups outside of they're own PR and all that. Time and time again people in eve dismissed this minute detail and payed the price. eve players are willing to do any means necessary to win will you? will you spend the time infiltrating, orchestrating back room deals, major fleet and ground ops. jack prices so high your side can't afford anything, ect...
its not oh i'm gonna stomp on all eve players cuz i have a cool weapon, my corp's kdr is top notch, and we have 1k players. none absolutely none of that matters if you aren't willing to do as said above. the planning of these things is tremendous. its no longer a question of is dust better then eve or vice versa, its who is willing to comprimise and work together in an organized fashion. this my friend is where the bonds of warriors is formed. Where formidable alliances are forged through the fires of war and brotherhood. this, i one day would like to see, one where the lines of dust and eve aren't competitions but collaborations. fighting and thinking as one our future my friends this is us.

sorry i got to say this but why is it "PiercingSerenity" sounds like a porno and as for " I've never been big about EVE-O," you can tell. titans pilot dont run bugger all they cant, read up on it they might think they do but its most likely there alt. its not a ship you can dock and store while you do other stuff. if you dont get it yet without eve there is no dust what your playing now are test match's really. if eve went under dust would just end thats it game over! |

This post made me giggle.
A few thing tho before u get you hole feet wet with kittens on eve players. I don't think you realize how big and how old and how organised the eve community is. You realize that people in eve have been stealing cheating and back stabing eachother for close to 10 years and you think that some group of fps twitchers are going to come on seen and show us something that hasn't already been done or thought of? At most you will be a pawn in an eve players plot to screw some other eve player. It will be a long long time before a dust Bunny is going to be able to effect eve in more than a feather ruffle.
Next point I remind you that he who controls the high ground... guess who has it and guess who doesn't. It will be hard to spit in the eye of that titan pilot that's sitting in a ship the size of New York that's in space when you are in your assault suit on the ground. Just saying.
Plus you would be amiss to think that the titan wielding alliance's are going to get mercs they don't know to do anything important for them. you would be sadly wrong. You realise that there are alliance's with thousands of members and allies right. You think they arnt going to have their own dust mercs?
Don't get me wrong I would love to read about a duster giving it to an eve player. Its a sand box and its this type of stuff that makes it fun. But I think you should aim alittle lower before you start shooting for the stars. So to speak. |

I'm coming to find how old and organized some of the incoming groups are. Many false perceptions are circulating.
Within New Eden we do have long standing histories between alliances, corporations, and individual players. The meta game is established and vibrant. Smoky backroom deals happen at every level. Backdoor intel happens at all levels, and trust is a big deal. Trust even in your enemies.
Mr. mongo, you'll find that titan weilding alliances have yet to see Dust as any significance at all. Those uf us that do play Dust at this point are generally considered to be mildly "less than brilliant". (the word I had was nixed) |

But I think you should aim alittle lower before you start shooting for the stars. So to speak. I would agree with this except that Dust corps will be able to hold their own planets...so a pawn not so much. Plus another wise person says to not underestimate your opponents which it seems alot of EVE players are doing.
EVE is established, powerful, and knows what to expect in the current New Eden. EVE is not invincible, and as far as the EVE players getting into Dust, everyone has their style of play that they are best at FPS may not be theirs. FPS consolers have been waiting for a game of this caliber for quite some time and you may yet be surprised by what they can do when they get organized.
Also make no mistake, they ARE getting organized. EVE players should start seeking their alliances and mercenary contracts with the FPSers before they end up on the wrong side of their crosshairs. Dust may need to show some respect to EVE, but EVE needs to return that respect or they may not like the result. Dusters CAN build weapons to shoot down your beautiful ships.
"...titan wielding allainces are going to get mercs they don't know..." I see it happening, when your planets start falling to a different corp you're gonna want the best and quick...but wait you barely know them, they are just mercs can you trust them. As long as you pay the best you can. |

Well this is just your typical FPS player not quite getting the whole dynamic at hand here. One's ability to perform well in an FPS game is so stupidly meaningless in actually affecting things in EVE it's not even worth considering as a factor. Oh you killed the enemy and captured the Skyfire and blew up some EVE ship in orbit? Woo......no one cares. People lose ships all the time in EVE, and although it can sometimes sting, its just the cost of doing business. Blowing up some ship in orbit will change very little, it won't cause a shift in power, it wont take out an alliance, it won't do anything. Your ability to shoot people on the ground means nothing.
Like someone said before, FPS ability has nothing to do with your cunning in the meta game. You can come riding in here on your ego horse and act like you're going to outsmart the EVE players because you can shoot people in the head...let me tell you, they will devour you. Non-EVE players are joining the game late, and everyone that's been around in EVE for a long time is going to put all of the new players to shame if they go showboating around thinking they'll make a difference.
Is EVE ready for players like protoman and BAD FURRY? Truth is, they don't give a ****. They are ants on a rock, and as individuals they are of no consequence to EVE in the least. All the EVE players care about is how they can use the Dust players to make a profit. To them, you are just tools and a means to an end. |

This is very true, one thing i see people constantly fail to see is there are EVE players who are good at FPS games.

Personally I wonder how many Dust players ARE EVE players. And more to the point how many EVE player Corps are extending an arm into Dust. FW is growing (and CCP has plans for it to become even bigger) plus there's the eventual rollout into Null Sec. We've already seen Goons on the Dust boards, I wonder how many others (tho honestly Goons is big enough to have an impact regardless). |

So we're looking at (directly or indirectly) the confirmed involvement of thousands of EVE players from the word 'go'. Or from before the word go lol
If a Dust player (who's new to New Eden) wants to make a splash I think the best idea is "who can I make alliances with" as opposed to "who can I try to gun down". Because really shifting the balance of power is a much more plausible way to impact New Eden than trying to pick up a rifle and come at it head on. That latter one will be fun to watch from the outside but isn't likely to get you very far. |

lol that post made me LOL, seriously. Eve players give 2 sh*ts as to who Protoman or Bad Furry is. Protoman already proved his ego is so big, his head wont fit through the da*n EVE gate. Once it does, it will get deflated by the hungry masses of EVE players waiting to blow some dust bunnies up. I am an EVE player of only 3 years and have seen many coalitions get stomped by spies, chunks of space get flipped overnight, clouds of Titans popping and my clone's freezing corpse getting swooped up for someones sick idea of a collection. A person maybe known now but in a few months, he will be another nameless face in the crowd ready to be killed for the greater good of their Alliance or corp. |

Eh. ya. That was my point. They don't see dusters as threats because they arnt and I doubt they will be for some time if at all. The only way I see dusters being able to smote a titan pilot as the original poster has suggested would be if they were used by eve players in some larger eve skeem the same way a chess player uses pawns. |
