Please? It would be a nice change from all the team games we're forced to play.
It would give friends a chance to compete against one another and what not. The player count would have to be small though, probably around 12 players per FFA game. |

You people want more game modes, but when an idea for a game mode comes up that's not team related, you all scoff at it.
In the full game, it can just be something used as a practice set up for in corp competitions. Or it can go into the E sports section, there really is no reason not to have it.
it also gives players who want to lone wolf a place to play |

I wouldn't mind as long as vehicles (or at least tanks) aren't allowed. It's hard enough to get people who you're actually fighting with to pull out an AV fit, let alone people you're fighting against.
As for being explained away in the EVE universe, lore should never take precedence over gameplay. Imagine if MCCs could be destroyed before even making their way to the planet and any Dust mercs would be sht out of luck--it would be stupid. |

The game modes are less important than uniformity with the EVE universe. I DO NOT support contrived game modes just for the sake of adding game modes.
Personally I don't like TDM but from a strategic standpoint, it would make sense. One Corp is attacking another corps military resources. TDM would work better as a assault game mode where there is an attacking team and a defending team. The objective would be for the attacking team to wipe out the defenders. The defenders would have a favorable defensive position and the attackers would have more clone reserves.

Considering war barges are going to be flying mercs and their corps between battles, I actually would not be surprised in the least if MCC could be shot down before they reach the planet. And I think it could make for excellent gameplay in the war over the planets.
A battle breaks out over one of eve's many planets as an attacking force attempts to capture a planetary installation. Friendly and enemy ships are exchanging blows as the war barges start pouring in like D-day at Normandy. The defending force sends every unit they can spare to knock down as many war barges as possible before they make it to the planet, and defense installations on the ground begin firing at the approaching barges. The small group of defending frigates/destroyers make it in front of the descending defenseless war barges and open fire. Just as their about to blow up the first warbarge, the MCC's launch. Suddenly a dozen targets have spawned countless more. There's no stopping it now. The fleet radios down to the planet, "We have lost control of the situation. Prepare for the arrival of the invasion force."
This may seem kinda boring to a merc's perspective but it would make for some exciting moments in Eve! |

"well fine, we don't need those players anyway"
You may not need them, But CCP does for a multitude of reasons.
1: a source of income 2: player base growth 3: player base happiness 4: Variety and so on, and so forth.
Just because you guy's don't want it, does not mean that the thousands of players who will eventually be flocking to this game wont want it. You're all being selfish, and that'll eventually kill this game.
Make everyone happy, give everyone their own little place to play, no everyone will want to take part in the corp battles, not everyone will want to play with teams. a large portion of the future play base will just want a place to veg.
Keeping things out of this game just because it isn't cannon will ruin it.

If I learned I wouldn't be able to participate in a match because of something in the game that not only I had no control over, but none of the other people playing it did either, then I wouldn't want to play this anymore. EVE players need to realize this isn't just an expansion to EVE online. It's a stand-alone (in the sense that it has its own mechanics, gameplay, etc) game with a new player-base. CCP has said many times in many ways they want to open the EVE universe to a wider audience. We're joining your universe, but that doesn't mean we need to bow to game-breaking limitations just for a minor increase in enjoyment for EVE players.
Also, I think either MCCs or Warbarges (whatever the difference is) are going to cost hundreds of millions of ISK. You wouldn't have dozens of them for one match. Plus, for people so interested in lore, you couldn't explain how the mercs would win the planet only by defeating one MCC if there were, in fact, dozens. |

I would like to see an exploration map with rogue drones and every man for himself. One thing that would be cool is if the drones were too powerful to take out by yourself, so teaming up with others is necessary. |

The arenas explain modes like deathmatch. When CCP said arena with spectators/betting, I thought unreal tournament, every mode from that game would fit into arena. Instead of not allowing vehicles, arena could have no vehicle, mixed, and all vehicle variants, simple way to triple number of modes.
Free for all type match should hide player names till kill feed, this prevents 1/2 dozen corp, members joining with a secret team on custom comm channel to play as team vs solo people. Still could be done, but harder without seeing names.
faction war and null sec battles shouldn't have deathmatch. |
