CCP has already stated that the Arena is going to be like New Edens football.
This and at least a few other game modes would fit just fine in that explanation. |

CCP has already said there will be FFA style games in the full game. This will happen in arenas so that players (EVE and DUST alike) can bet on the winners. |

Even TDM is pretty unpopular. I'm not surprised there is so much dislike for this idea. The idea of playing Ambush with 2x the chance of spawning in front of an enemy really doesn't sound appealing.

As some special kind of game mode where you buy into it and there's betting involved with the winner getting a prize, that I don't think would be too bad at all. But as just Ambush but even more random and chaotic, that would be pretty unpopular. |

FFA wouldn't work in the first place; you'd just be wasting ISK killing people for no reason, and someone with proto gear could just come in and kill everyone else. Unless they have some sort of filter in place...
I'm all for more game modes, but not killing arenas. They can make as many team-based objective modes as they want, I won't complain. But FFA and TDM? No thanks. Actually the main reason I've taken a break form DUST is because every time I used Instant Battle it was TDM garbage, and they disabled the server browser so I couldn't play skirmish... |

In Eve Online, there are players who run NPC missions with a solo-tanked Caldari Navy Issue Raven. It's one of the main things to do in New Eden and it's not even team based. |

one way of potentially doing this would be if CCP implemented the much desired training rooms for corp use. if you could totally give control to the corps about setup and rules inside the room you could potentially do anything.
Another way to achieve this would be to (when its implemented) go on a null sec system in a match (where FF is on) and just go wild. admitidly though the people on the same team would see each other. |

Racing e-sports could be in arena too, death race with several sagaris would be quite interesting to watch.
E-sports arena could have limited and unlimited matches, militia matches will probably be the most popular do to rapid isk loss of death match modes. It would probably be many times the number of deaths a regular game would have, with fewer people getting isk at end, since only a few win/place.

There, it has been explained.
