Lore used to justify cheapness and poor design choices, like the pathetic ADS we have, is sad. Really lore should be used to surprise and and as an excuse to make fantastic, even unbelievable, things not make the game look uninspired, cheap and shallow. Dust is a FPS but when you use ADS it's looks like a on-rail shooters like Time Crisis where the gun is nowhere to be seen. Not even Doom 1 did so poorly. |

I really like having the open sights. Why u want 2 see less ?
Edit: the dots massive tho I wouldnt mind being able to select dot,small dot, teeny weeny dot, Chevron etc etc |

While we're at it. If I'm not in a gunner position, I want to be able to shoot my hand weapon from a dropship just like in the video.

same. i actually like the sights we have now ppl are into cosmetics too much i hope with the weapon customization mentioned that we will be able to swap scopes so everyone can be happy

The open view breaks the immersion and takes from the personality of the weapon for me.
I find the transition from on view to the other jarring and I think it makes aiming a lot more difficult. Also, the poor frame-rate doesn't help much. |

I think it's much harder to simulate the weapon recoil in this view too. I'd feel like I'm fighting the camera view rather than mastering the weapon.
95% of FPS's have the weapon in view whilst aiming down the sights. Why do you think that is? |

The better question is why do you seem so disturbed that people prefer one sight over another. It is a matter of preference. CCP can allow the opportunity to purchase different sights from the marketplace.
Which makes sense because not everyone is crazy about what we have now.....hence, this thread |

Actually the sight in the video didnt distort the edges of your screen. This whole "camera drone" thing is BS. I can use the current scope. But it's not a scope... There are no range markers ect. Tbh full scope customisation would be awesome. Set zoom, set crosshairs, set peripheral blur, ect. |

Because if you like what have you tend to play better, if you like the current one good I just prefer a more traditional type instead of the mini tv pop up we get now |

Even the sniper rifles scope could be changed. We have a dot ridicule now, but the dot is big enough that it completely covers our target when they're far enough away. If I could choose, I'd pick the cross from the video so that I could center the target and know I'm going to hit him instead of missing because his head was actually in the corner of the dot, not the center.
I think the current system is fine, but there needs to be a crosshair preference in the options or sold on the marketplace, so everyone can use what makes them most comfortable. A lot of FPSs offer this in their option menu and it's a good idea. |

What I would expect from a futuristic sights is a target acquisition system that outlines my targets with red/white lines and a "blip, blip" sound when my dots hits the target also bigger zoom would be a bonus.

This will be done frequently by CCP at launch. There is no way they can fix everything so they will just make up lore to offset poor design choices. Hopefully it will change in the future. |

The AR we have now is Gallente crap, so when we get the other faction's weapons, I would presume that: Caldari AR will have a sight like the video in the OP or like this.
Gallente AR has the helmet cam we have now.
Amarr AR would be like the Scrambler Pistol sight
Minmitar AR would have the plastic sight with the dot on it like the SMG.
This is just pure speculation, except for the MK25 Gauss Rifle that's in that video; I'm pretty sure that will be in the game. |
